When she hit him on the bean with that pan I half expected Mrs. Slocombe to scold her “MISS BRAHMS!! Kindly don’t hit the gentleman over the cranium with kitchen utensils”.
"Except your body god she must have been desperate" I loved that line!
Absolutely
lol, I like those type of lines, they are funny, lol 😂😈
@@leonard2005ify 🤭😂🤭
IF I had an affair everytime you made me feel down, that'd be NO MAN IN WALFORD TO NOT KNOW ME INTIMATELY! Love it.
Pauline "DON'T KEEP SAYIN' YA SORRY!"
Arthur. "Alright, I'm not sorry."
alex jones 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kunta Kinte racist
@@eugenedanquah4487 is not racist, maybe that why u have no subs
"YOU are trying to make ME understand why you felt the need to bed Mrs Hewitt? I think we could be 'ere for a LONG time!" Pauline did come out with some cracking lines!
"Stay away from me, Arthur"
Now I understand when Sharon told Dennis once “you’re lucky she didn’t hit you with a frying pan” for his comments about Pauline having the hots for Den. LOL!
Played the whole scene at full speed! So comical, especially when Pauline throws the ornament at Arthur lol!
Wendy Richards was kind enough back in 2000 to send me (in America) an autographed photo what a great woman she was.
I love watching these old episodes I haven't watched in years Pauline and Arthur were like the Jack and Vera of EastEnders
Arthur Treacher and Wendy Richard rocked this scene. Kudos!
Bill treacher
Love London he spelled his name correctly what’s wrong
@@xc_03 The actor's name isn't Artie Treacher, it's Willy Treacher!!!!!!!
Never cheat on Pauline! 🍳😫
Absolutely brilliant scene. RIP Wendy and Bill ❤️
"Middle age lush" lol!
They just showed this on Drama.
It's interesting reading the comments below about how the acting in this was really terrible; I actually think that Bill Treacher (Arthur) and Wendy Richards (Pauline) were two of the strongest cast members Eastenders have ever had. It's nice to see a soap dealing with the effects of an affair on an older couple rather than just young adults. Kudos to both actors for keeping the pace going without resorting to histrionics.
Who said that???? Lemme-at-em!!!
Scott Amsterdam I hate you Mummy
Acting was good, it was just unrealistic
@@arserobinson7118 Um..... it's TV.... realism plays no part in a soap.
Absolutely
Two classic bits of dialogue.
DON'T KEEP SAYING YA SORRY!
GERROUTA MY PUB!
Which will be remembered longer, I wonder?
I prefer the former, the latter was done to death where it wasn't amusing anymore!
@@notgillcup Sharon: (constantly) what'd'you mean?
When you want Eastenders to go OTT have a character get hit on the head with a frying pan to help provide some slapstick comedy. 😂
"Stay away from me Arthur!"
0:57 Dayum!🔥 😬😂
Also at the very end I half expected a quick cut to Mr Humphries with a suitably cheeky comment! 😂😂😂
It's amazing that the Arthur Fowler actor is still alive!
I know I thought he died when the character died.
@@r4h4al he died
@@andrewbellringer404 Yeah, I saw that.
not any more
RIP Bill Treacher
Wow - I used to watch in the 80s/90s but never saw this. Stunning scene. Should make any man think twice before having an affair.
That scene right there is vintage EE, you can never get bored of this scene. Acting fron Bill and Wendy was second to none. A classic clip which gets funnier every time you watch it.
So glad the old eastenders have been on the tv
Can remember this classic episode. Pauline's Frying Pan was one of the best moments in Eastenders. A good actress she was. I miss these episodes they were the best.
Wendy Richards was the best in Eastenders I loved her as Pauline Fowler in the show. Rip Wendy Richards what a great actress
Nathan Molyneaux Wendy is from my hometown so proud to be from a town that made such a iconic person
It's "Richard", not "Richards".
Happy Ears 2 semantics.
Lol you high? She was a good character but wasn't the best 😂
Love Mrs Brahms aswell on Are You Being Served 🙌🏼
Oh man that was priceless! She threw a plate at him she slapped him and then she bonged him with the pan. Classic!
its not funny its straight up domestic abuse.
“Stay away from me Afha”
It’s a brilliant scene and brilliantly acted. Bill Treacher is superb.
Eastenders used to be so good. Honestly hasn't been the same since Pauline died.
I remember the frying pan Gate when I was 10 years old back in 1993, that scene was funny, it was a Comedy drama back then with these two, lol 🤪😂😈, I remember back then it was in the news paper headlines and on the news I think, it was funny as hell, lol 🤪😂😈
Best performances from these two.
I loved Arthur he was one of the best people in the show
I miss arther and Pauline
THE GOOD OLD DAYS A FRYING PAN A CLASSIC
The original Enders couple
Neil Baker Nah...Angie and Den.
itsjemmabond the original plan was for Den to be just in the first 6 episodes, the whole show was planned to revolve around TBD Fowlers and beales. Den and Angie were so popular so quickly that they had to become a focal part of show
RIP Wendy. You were one of the greats.
WHAT a time to be alive ❤️
Awww . I love love love the classics . Ender's kept it real . Focused on the character s thoughts and feelings . Arthur and Pauline absolutely brilliant
RIP WENDY RICHARDS
LMAO, Pauline going dark on Arthur. Classic Eastenders right there
Arthur got bonked in more ways than one.
RIP Arthur Fowler. He loved Walford.
Rip Bill Treacher 1930-2022 Who will be remembered as Arthur Fowler in Eastenders Rest in Peace to you
Arthur was made to look pathetic in his last 2 years , great actor
Sure he was pathetic all the way through. Will never forget him not being able to touch mark's plate.
When Pauline says don't keep saying your sorry and throws the ornament oh God
Pauline The Albert Square Flying Pan Killer that would have been some storyline.
How I would love this soap opera more if it was aired over here. Better than the others that we watch.
To me this is how Pauline Fowler will always be remembered before the writers turned her into an evil sour cow. U can tell Wendy enjoyed playing her during this era, back in the 90's. Pauline is and was EastEnders...it took Wendy's death to make me realise this. You will be sadly missed x
For me, this was one of the few moments where there seemed to be something other than distant irritation between them, and there was a hint that they might have been able to be happy.
Pauline was OK at first.
I felt the writers tried to mold Pauline into Lou after Lou was written off.
@@LL-fd7xn Except the writers turned Pauline into a vile cow who hated everyone. Lou had her moments of being sharp tongued but she was also capable of being warm and caring.
@@PussnBoot2516 still loved her then
Fantastic scene! The acting, the dialogue and the writing is all brilliant.
“Don’t keep saying ya sorry!”
Wendy Richard was a class act. We miss ya, Wendy, and we also miss ya, Pauline.
Loved these two absolutely brilliant acting
Nothing like true love! Great acting perfomance by both. Farewell Wendy. You made a difference.
I think that Madea (played by Tyler Perry) would have been very proud of Pauline for doing what she did.
Great acting by Wendy. Used to adore eastenders back then. She showed proper emotion humouring it off at first to crying and being upset to flat and anger with the BONG 😂
Are you blind?!! She’s an appalling actress!!!! 🤦🏽♂️
so why don't you show us how to act properly? you couldn't act to save your life, you're a nothing. So do not be jealous of someone who has talent.@@richardcarter1957
@richardcarter1957 how incredibly rude!
take no notice, he's only jealous cos she had talent and he's worth nothing, ignore him.@@justinhassall8686
@@justinhassall8686 take no notice; he thinks Wendy is a fantastic actor really.
When she backhanded him lol!!!
Loved watching EE on PBS Station WETA 26 in Washington DC ,📺📽️🎬💜
Thanks so much for this! I've been dying to watch this episode for years and now at least I've seen a bit of it.
one of my fav enders' moments - the frying pan!
wat a hit
This is a memory blast, when I used to wash the show, when eastenders was good
If you thought that was crazy, you should have seen what she did at the end of the episode, she chucks a TV at him. lol Just shows what people are capable of when they are full of rage.
3:53 mega frying pan hit
I've heard so much about this scene, and I've always wanted to see it. This was great! :)
Saw it on Drama today. Classic
Simply the best
I know. She was wonderful early, but in the end, they turned her into a real battleax. A shame that they did that.
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!
Classic EastEnders and Wendy Richard at her best!!
Good old days can’t beat em
LOL CLASSIC!!
I miss Pauline she was absolutely brilliant
Back when Eastenders was good, rather than the utter drivel it has been for most of this century
It hasn't been "utter drivel" for _most_ of this century. Just the last few years. Remember that storyline that gripped the nation, and even brought people to tears by how extreme it was? It was so horrific, I could barely watch it.
Feast your eyes on this (fan-made) trailer: ruclips.net/video/0sPjxTojYdY/видео.html
I felt it was good in 2000-02 but after Mid 2002 started to go downhill , despite some good moments. I think going to 4 episodes a week, while good for the first year, in the long run, was too much and spread the content a bit thin and became too saturated. By mid 2006, when Grant left, I struggled to watch it and stopped.
The 2000's had some good storylines but it really went downhill over the past decade I stopped watching it around 2011. The 80's will always be the best era for eastenders.
@Roborav 90's was good but 80's was more gritty and had great characters like Den and Angie, Dot and Ethel, Mary, Pete etc. Yeah 2005 went over the top with Den's demise and the gangster element with Johnny Allen I didn't watch it as much after that. I'll definitely start watching again when Dot dies though, that will be sad.
It was great until they brought the Muslim story lines in.
a mighty " DONG !!!!! " that is still well remembered today
RIP to both.
Ironic and iconic that Pauline died by being hit over the head with a frying pan.
R.I.P Bill Treacher who played Arthur who sadly passed away today 8th November 2022 aged 92.
i loved this very good
I know how arthur feel when he says he said it feels like everyone likes or wants to see him fail
fantastic
wud love to see the full episode!!
You can see Wendy Richard's roots in comedy here.
'middle-aged lush' go pauline
Absolutely iconic. Didn’t she also throw a telly at him in this episode?
If I remember rightly she did indeed throw a telly at him lol
I remember this the first time round, i was 12!!, it's so funny to watch on repeat, with the saucepan part! he he :)
Wendy was terrific. RIP.
this was the first ever eppisode of eastenders that i watched im now 21 and i think that after this eppsode the whole think went down hill, this was a clasic moment :D
She was waiting to use that frying pan throughout the whole scene
He talks complete gibberish at 3:31 - 3:34
nice one
Ten years later she was saying Arthur was wonderful lol!
Old is gold
I never liked Arthur Fowler. He was a coward through and through.
He was lovely but he shouldn't have had the affair.
@@r4h4al wasnt that lovely
Pauline wore the trousers. Arthur was a right melt.
Love to see a repeat of this between Mick and Linda when Linda finds out about Whitney! Mind you, they'd have to change some of the dialogue. Linda couldn't call Whitney a 'middle aged tart!'
its just been on drama channel today
Have you the full episode. Thanks
Oh my God, this brought back memories. I was a little kid when this was on (aka the early 90s) and my parents would watch it. My brother and I would have to go to bed when it was on, but I always fell asleep to the theme song. I've watched the reboot of the show just recently, but it didn't feel right to me - no, for me, the series done in the 80s was the best.
Looool epic moment
what a video
hahahaaha just toooo funny!
