Paulines character became completley nasty and horrible in her final months. She was a bit of a misery at times but she became out of character at this point. I dont blame Wendy for leaving the show. she deserved a better exit . Though she fell prowl of a very bad era and poor writers the show had experienced at the time.

@Dominic Wileman no she didn't, she said she disagreed with it, she never actually said that was the reason. She said in an interview she regretted staying so long as the show had lost its traditional values.

I agree, I think 2003-2007 was probably one of the show's lowest points with a combination of bad production, writing and characters- I would never have believed that Pauline would remarry again after losing Arthur and the conflict with Sonia seemed unnecessarily overwrought.

exactly, I think people have no idea what the words ''shouting'' or ''screaming'' mean, if you say something somebody doesn't like, rebuke them or say something they don't agree with they'll say ''he/she shouted in my face.''
