    They said the Ryu level 1 you can now basically punish fireballs with it. Considering they took away the hurt box from his arms. You can now do level on super in a fireball war and win. RYU MAINS REJOICE

      Fck yes. They level 1 has saved my life countless times. Especially for players who use drive rush

      its a big buff for modern ryu mains especially i reckon cause yhey tend to use lv 1 more liberally

      @dhewgamingz right, especially when you're on your last bar and they deduce to drive rush to end it. They're inside the animation so BOOOM

    The solar plexus buff is great. Ryu was missing much needed stickiness. Ken kept you glued to him with his kicks. Good stuff.

      Definately a nice quality of life change. There were so many times when only the first hit would connect making confirms weird. Now both hits always seem to connect cleanly

      New to SF. What is stickiness? Is there like a special term for that?
      Was I REALLY unable to walk away from Ken cause the game forced me to block?

      It's a combination of having a block string with a lack of push back, kind of trapping the opponent. Bison had this in SF5.

    Hopefully they buff him more in the big balance patch. He needs to be able to choose when to use Denjin.

      I feel like instead of being able to choose when you should be able to have 3 different strengths of it, like speeds for hadoken (dmg is the same) but denjin hasho is fine ig

      I think the consensus right now is to have Denjin FBs be different speeds according to the button pressed. That makes the most sense. We'll have to wait until the big patch, though.

    Why does ryu keep getting buffed when he should be buffed on day 1 he is the main and oldest character he is street fighter

      He is the baseline for the game so he should be perfectly mid.

      Ryu will always be street fighter luke is the new kid on the block but he is not the main and ryu has been growing for 20+ years he should be grandmaster by now

      ​@givemeverything his DP Tatsu should electrocute people. His charged fireball should be on a timer and should still breaks blocks like in 5. In 5, you could do dp tatsu and then do another one when they blocked it to catch people off guard

    These buffs are great but we still have the issue of not being able to save charge and throw fireballs. If they give us that Ryu will be in an amazing place.

    That one extra Light Hashogeki frame also gives Ryu another non-corner (mid-screen) safe jump. Before the patch his only mid-screen safe jumps were Heavy Hashogeki -> raw DR -> 5MK (+42) and OD Blade Kick -> frame kill 5LP into sweep. Now, Light Hashogeki on counter hit -> raw DR -> 2MP -> _link_ into light hashogeki. You can't cancel the 2MP ... have to link it. +41. It used to only work on meaty counter hit (e.g. after the light tatsu setup). Now it works on a non-meaty counter hit. Back-rise will take them out of range but it's still a safe jump setup.

      the only bummer is the linked Hasho won't connect if the counter hit Hasho hits from max range (which is almost exactly backdash distance from the opponent) ... anything closer than max range, the sequence is doable@@machoortv

    I wish they buffed tatsu also. Wishful thinking. But having a good tatsu in the air would be sick. For escaping the corner. Or light tatsu into shoryu confirm would be sick as well

      air tatsu yeah but I think medium tatsu should have a faster start up to punish fireballs like in SFV

    Ryu is better but Jamie is the most buffed. Ryu should allow to tab punch to fireball/hashogeki without spending denjin charge, and hold punch button to use it.

    I've found this to work now with denjin charge : st HP -> OD hashogeki -> st HK -> level 1 (3920 dmg)
    Which is great for 2 bars, it didn't worked so reliably before so it was only doable in close up, now you can use it near max range even if they stand up.
    Also I love to use st HK as a anti air into level 1 in par with this.

      you can do dash forward after the od hasho and do st hk and light hashogeki then level 1, you get better damage

      @rtv How does it work? can't get the stand HK to connect after denjin OD hasho IF I dash due to the crumple.
      So you meant st HP -> denjin OD Hashogeki -> forward Dash -> st HK -> Light hashogeki -> level 1 ??
      My combo was without drive rush cancels just vanilla St HP into denjin EX Hasho (crumple) into st HK into Level 1 it works anywhere on screen from close to max range of St HP

    Would have been nice if denjin enhanced other specials as well like Shoruken and Tatsu. And Ryu starts with 3 stacks of those hahaha.

    The OD hashogeki combo seems a bit odd for when I try it. I'm not hitting the 7k you have shown here. Is there somethign specific that needs to be done to get that type of damange output? I'm only hitting 6816 (in corner). ***(Figured it out as CA is needed)****

    THE BENEFIT of the reduced hurtbox for LVL 1 super is it is now even more safe for MODERN PLAYERS that throw supers in neutral randomly.

    Wow seems like Ryu mains don't even need to play fireball war all days anymore. Solar plexus / hashogeki mixup city is all Ryu need to win, and save up denjin charge for hashogeki instead of hadouken.😮

    5:40 ryu is still -3 though, so it’s your opponent’s turn they don’t have to try to throw you? They can just jab to check you?

      if you space it properly, you're out of throw range, as he showed. Ending a block string with standing LP leaves you out of throw range.

      -3 on block is safe. you can do delayed tech throw if you are afraid of getting grabbed.

      Getting master is very easy in 6. The MR system once you reach master is where the real ranked starts.
      And no character is too weak in this game. Lilly is considered at least bottom 2 and Hibiki was #1 in the world with her.

    You gotta be careful if your opponent has a command grab fire that hosheki fireball. You'll get slamned.

    Ryu was strong before. This game is garbage. Luke, ryu, and ken. They didn’t even buff or nerf anyone significantly to make things balanced. Tekken 8 is the king of fighting games. Shame on MK1 and SF6 for being useless garbage games.

      For me tekken and sf6 are amazing fg but mk1 fell off i stopped playing mk1 fast as for t8 and sf6 they are currently the best games in my opinion
