He's definitely better. However, the rest of the cast is built around being anti-Ryu. So I personally don't see him as top tier or even top 8. He hits hard though.
Ryu is much better but the fundamental reasons why any of the other shotos were picked over him hasn't changed. Short examples but, Akuma has a better fireball game than ryu (even with denjin since he has to get a knockdown to get denjin or a target combo with is low damage and no oki outside the corner), Luke has better buttons, corner carry and similar damage, Ken puts you in the corner in 1 hit and has better tools after HP to keep the opponent in check (ryu and Ken both have similar hps but ken jinrai and dragon lash). Also his neutral drive rush is probably the worst out of the 4. He can't really fireball drive rush. Akuma doesn't have a fast drive rush either but can fb drive rush +he has air fireballs.
@vincentFGC meaning everyone has tools to get around his zoning. Lily - Condor, Dee Jay - Sway and air slasher, Aki - Poison Ball and slide manuevers, etc. Most characters have built-in gimmicks to open up the opponent. Ryu, not so much.
This video was kind of hard to digest but i think the biggest thing i took out of this video was how to take advantage of his lifht hadouken being +1 on hit now. Another thing that i saw other people talk about about his how the first hit on his solar plexus has more frame advantage now so you can trade with an opponent and still be +9 or something on that exchange. That is something we should keep in the back of our heads. Im not sure what the frame data used to look like before this update though.
Yes, Light Donkey kick in the corner now sets up a safe jump. Light Donkey kick in general sets up the safe jump, but with the push back it may mess with the spacing on a jump in.
Go ahead. Give up your level 3. Not having your level 3 basically ensures youre going to lose vs high level players. Crit 3 and level 3 off any jump in combo is easy 50%+whereas your super 1 is lile 25% health. Watch high level matches dude. See how many times high level players actovely wait on level 3olololol
@@yourstillwithmehigh level players do not use super 3 unless it's the last round in a set (and they are going to win because of it) or are just trying to burn out the opponent. Most of the time they will settle for a combo that leads in to super 2 or super 1 because it leaves them with one super meter left. It is a get out of jail free card. And you can also build up one more super meter much faster than you can for three super meters. It is just much safer to keep at least one meter of super in case you run out of drive meter
I’m just saying that it’ll be great fun using my super meter more often; it gets old just hanging onto it until the last combo that will kill only with it/CA. Ryu in this season is absolutely a menace, we'll see a lot of players utilize his buffs in tournaments for sure
What I wouldn’t give to fight a Ryu or anything that’s not Akuma.
Not aged well lol
@@danielebagnasco1123Ryu still sucks lol
I'm honestly surprised we don't see more ryus in offline tournaments, not sure if he's top tier now but he definitely feels up there
Nah u right they made him feels strong

Ryu is cursed.
I mean, this is the case of a fighting character that i doesn't matter how buffed he gets, is still low tier.
1:04 tuff flex w that od denjin hasho into roundhouse low forward
Can you show th frame meter next time

Ryu is also broken.. he can throw a st mp and still initiate a v-trigger..
What?
good shit my G
question why is collarbone breaker +7 on PC? Is sf6 similar to how different sfv was on Pc vs console?
+7 on PC is referring to “Punish Counter” not “PC”.
@@javitsarias675 oh DUH lol! why I didnt think of that i dont know lol
+7 on STEAM
LK Donkey Kick guarantees a safe jump?
yes
1:04 wait… does PC have different frame data???
PC as in Punish Counter, which I believe affects frame data and damage compared to a normal hit
PC adds +4 on hit for the majority of normals, though a lot of heavies have even more because it puts the opponent in different states like crumple
at 1:22 is that a safe jump?
