Buy the AeroScout RC Plane here - bit.ly/3oWaxPe This is the best beginner RC Plane that we have come across so far in 2019! We are always on the lookout for an awesome, easy to fly plane that is great for beginners to help as many people get into the hobby as possible! The AeroScout really seems to be that and then some, especially the extremely easy build process! The fact that this comes completely RTF right at $200 is just amazing to me! With the prop mounted in the rear and the landing gear being a little larger than our normal planes this size, it makes for a great grass field flyer as well as asphalt or paved runways. I'm 70 and love it too. Sadly this was not the first plane I purchased but wish it were. I destroyed two others beyond repair before getting the Aeroscout. I have had great success with it. What surprised me the most is the length of flight time I get from the smart batteries, 30+ minutes is typical. Can you tell me if the DXe transmitter I got with this plane will bind with an e-flite Valiant BNF and retain the Safe select/Intermediate/experts modes?
Same here. It is my first RC plane as well. I have only gotten to fly it once due to my work schedule but I love it . Very easy to fly . Though mine is a little tail heavy and will probably have to weigh down the nose a hair . Lol
Based solely on this video, I just ordered this plane. Ive been flying R/C for over 40 years but haven’t done much the past 15. So I figured this would be an ideal plane to get my skills back!
You WILL enjoy this plane. I had been out of flying for almost a year and when I started out, I had several crashes. Broke out my trusty first generation Sensei, which was about five years old but hadn't been flown in four. Well I got one flight out of it before the rudder servo fried. Bought one of these and got my "mojo" back. The best things about this plane in my book is that first, it's a pusher, so you don't have to worry about it nosing over like a warbird or Pipe Cub type. Second is the landing gear. It handles bouncy landings well, landings that would have damaged most other planes. So have fun, you won't be disappointed.
Marty Karr Thanks Marty. I did get one and have a successful flight on it with no issues. I did stay in the safest mode but found that I needed high rate to make turns a bit tighter, so switched over to that during the flight. This thing is easy to fly for sure and it will be lots of fun.
I just want to thank you. I've raced ground vehicles for 30 years but after watching your videos, you sold me on getting into airplanes. You make them look like so much fun... Love all your videos.
I bought this plane on their recommendation and love it!!!!! I've flown cheap drones, but never a plane and this one is perfect for a beginner. I've had 3 successful flights this evening and 3 successful landings. Takes 5 minutes to put together and then your left staring at the battery charger, going come on... thrill to fly looking at it now wishing it was still daytime so I could do another flight.
I bought this plane to get me started back in the hobby after about 40 years and it is so easy to fly. I have a Arrows Husky 1800 on order so a new radio was needed. Got the Spektrum DX8E before the husky. Figured I needed some flight time on the new radio so bound it to the Areoscout using the unaltered set-up for the Areoscout downloaded from Spektrum. It turns the Areoscout into a whole different plane. Much snapper in all modes with more roll in safe so the wind doesn't make your turns anywhere near as wide. All maneuvers in expert are quicker. Barrel rolls aren't lazy anymore, nice quick and snappy. Your videos are and have been a big help. Stay safe and be happy.
What people use these days, for fpv flight ? There's some years I give up on this and about 2 since give up on drones also. I imagine that technology advance so much that could probably find smaller, cheaper easy to use kit's. Even now, after long time, still selling stuff from the house, remained from rc, to clean the space, so I ever going back, I will like to have something simple, ready to go, without having to DIY much as in old times. Could this carrying on an Osmo Pocket camera ?
You guys seriously are part of our family and we appreciate all you are accomplishing, thank you for introducing me to the hobby ( during paternity leave) and now for content that I can confidently share with my RC addicted 6 year old and 17m old.
TheRcSaylors I got mine and (after charging) it basically flies out of the box. Used beginner mode for its maiden flight and it went perfectly! I did throw the switch to high rate while in the flight as I wanted tighter turns. The low rate is really really low. Great plane!
"Full flying stabilizer". Looks like a nice trainer! SAFE mode is a fantastic option for beginning flyers. Turn it off until you get in trouble, flip it on to bring everything back to straight and level. This one should help get some new people into fixed-wing without getting discouraged. Glad your club is growing!
You're killing me with all these cool plane videos! I'm into rc trucks and cars but you are making me want to buy a plane and try flying! Great video as always. I love your channel so much! Thank you both for all your hard work and dedication to bringing us all the information we need to love this hobby even more!
Gary flew that several times prior to us filming his live review of this plane. He had a blast with it at Horizon RC Fest. The larger wheels handled the rougher field we were in. Cool plane.
That little beauty is packed with a ton of killer features especially for the price range. I'd love to get my hands on one of those and get back into flying that looks like a great beginner or just a fun flyer. Thanks for the fun entertainment .
Dam we have come a long ways since i was 12yrs old and got my first RC plane with the gas motor I loved that rc plane putting the gas in it and taking off with that BEAUTIFUL buzzing sound.UM UM.I JUST might have to get me one of these for the memories of it ALL. So SIMPLE and easy from when i STARTED my little gas POWERED one my first time taking it off i almost took somebody head off way on the other side of the big field i took of from i didnt know the plane was so fast . And it wasnt trimmed right but i learnt how to trim it real quick. I'll never forget that day but it taught me a lot. THEY ARE NO TOY. EVEN THO THEY LOOK LIKE A TOY THOSE PROPS ARE NOTHING BUT A SPINNING PROJECTILE.
You guys are fun to watch and hear. Abby is just itching to fly the Aeroscout (just not on video yet). You got this girl. I enjoy your helpful comments to Nate. And, Nate you are a very good pilot. I've watched your Viper and a 3D plane videos along with many others. I take it you've been flying awhile. And, Abby's a fast learner. Keep the videos coming. Wow, you guys have a great channel.
As a pilot of a full sized "pusher" type plane remember that since the propeller is mounted slightly higher than a more conventional plane, when you add power, the engine pushes the nose down slightly. So when you add power pull back on the stick a little so as to raise the nose.
Been told to get this plane for my first. Have been considering it and watching videos on it but yaws video helped make my mind up. Getting it in next few weeks 😎👍
Got this one 3 days ago took it out yesterday and crashed it during takeoff at full throttle almost no damage thr wheel came loose put some glue and I will try it tomorrow it still flew fine before I fixed it, I got it up in the air after I crashed it. Very durable RC plane. First time I have ever had one and I love it
Abby and Nate. I have watched almost all of your rc plane videos. And even personally asked you a question on your Instagram page which you answered fast. I’ve taken your advice and purchased the aero scout. I purchased through this video and I hope it helps you and your family. Love the family filming and now the 4 k. Thanks for all you do. God bless.
RcSaylors just recommended this plane to me as a great plane to get my wife started on. That speaks volumes considering this video is 2 yrs old. Can’t wait to try it….if she’ll let me.😜
Nice plane for the money. I think it's going on my list of first plane to buy! I live in an area that has alot of farm fields around me. Thanks again for another great video from the Rcsaylors! God bless! 🙏🙏👍👍👍😃
That first real attempt at a loop was more of a hammerhead stall! :-) As for how the horizontal stabilizer moves rather than having elevators on the edge, that is called a "flying tail" or "all flying tail" originally, but is now more often called a "stabilator", a portmanteau of "stabilizer-elevator". Most American supersonic fighters have them...in fact, if I remember correctly, I seem to recall from when I read Chuck Yeager's autobiography, he said that the reason why the X-1 was able to be controlled in supersonic flight was because it was the first test plane with a flying tail. And that fact was one of the most top secret things that came out of the X-1 program.
I just bought this in the UK 🇬🇧 for my family 7 children ranging from 7-26... 5 still at home..... I purchased a second battery for it and I am very excited to see how they get on with it.... I may do some videos of different ages trying to fly it for the first time...
Did pretty good in the wind, flew well. With those big tires it look like one of those Alaskan bush planes. Good flying Nate, Abby your next so practice quick. 😊😊.
I'm nee to this channel...I really enjoy ..how you too enjoy this hobbie...I picked one up yesterday..gonna get back into rc...I fly drones...I have a naza f450.....but once I get the rust out of my skill...the jet trainer is on my radar...lol....enjoy your channel
Incredible vids, I just went and bought this plane from my local hobby shop bc of you guys. I have a few 1/5 scale cars but this is my first ever plane! Keep up the great work!!!
I really wish you would have considered buying the plane through our link since we were of some assistance. We make a small commission when you do, and these videos are hard work that are 100% free for you and everyone else. I hope the hobby shop was and is more help than us. Either way, happy flying. @@TheRcSaylors thank you so much for all your vids guys I'm making my maiden of my aeroscout today and I am now a patreon! Are there any tips that u could give me off the top of your head?
Maintain throttle while flying, and especially through banking or curves. When in doubt, throttle up for a second or two. Unless your nose is in the ground, throttle will always (almost) be your best friend! No need to burn throttle at full the whole flight though. You’ve got a great plane that is very forgiving. Just enjoy the whole process!!
I’ve been considering getting into the hobby and this sounds like a good plane to start with. I plan on getting it by Christmas and I can’t wait to have fun with it.
Very fun plane for a beginner. I found out a few things. In intermediate, if you hold the ailerons one way it won't turn any faster but if you release and hold again you'll get a steeper turn rate. Another thing with this plane is, keep your speed up. It will tip stall in a tight turn at about 50% throttle. Personally, I found it easier to land in expert mode, but that may just be me.
I got this for Christmas 2021, and just few it last Sunday, it's a very fun plane. I used a 3000mAh battery, and it did just fine. Battery needs to go as far forward as possible.
That's a really great little budget glider that I'm sure you will LOVE! Smart move by aiming for this one next. You are about to have an awesome couple of months (or longer) of RC 👍⚓😃
I also have an XK 800. It is a great glider to fly. You will really enjoy it. My next plane is a Hobby Zone Carbon Cub. Already have the plane, just need some time and weather to fly it. Good luck with the XK!
Just ordered mine from Horizon. I was going to get the BNF but with a smart battery, smart charger and a DXe it was a great price. Tossed in a spare battery and it was less than $250 shipped. Can't wait to fly it. I'm thinking it will land on my personal little runway just fine.
I also made sure when I bought this sweet plane that that my hobby shop had replacement wings and body ,I am sure I will crash and break at some point, I am super excited with all the features of this plane
My second Hobbyzone easy to fly plane? The V tail stick with wings. Firebird Phantom, pusher prop. Flimsy compared to this Aero Scout. Can't wait to get to Great Hobbies in Mississauga, next weekend. Kid in a candy store.😎🛩️🚁✈️👍 Happy flying.
Thanks for reviewing this plane! I actually bought this from my local hobby store the day before I saw Gary I Just Got Here fly it at RC Fest! You didn't mention that you can buddy box with this plane.
Nice flight demo. I noticed the wing has no dihedral so that’s good but it looks to have a flat bottom wing which is good and bad. Next flight try getting some good altitude, cut all power, lock full rudder in one direction and lock alerions in the same direction while giving full elevator and you will be able to do a nice spinning downward spiral but don’t get so engrossed that you forget to let off and level out before you hit the ground. You may already know these things but if not, it is a maneuver than is impressive to the flier and also anyone watching. Look up “snap loop” and see if it will perform that as that has always been one of my favorites. Look forward to seeing your progress with this little fun beginners’ plane. And I don’t think I heard the nasty T word at all in this video. Good on ya. As always, “Endeavor to Persevere.”
@Rick Both look like really good trainers. The Carbon Cub adds GPS for additional functionality (geo-fencing, auto-land, etc.), which is reassuring though not really necessary once you have learned the basics of piloting an R/C airplane. I’d say choosing one over the other comes down to budget and style preference. I wouldn’t say either landing gear configuration has a clear advantage in ground handling. Tail draggers, especially warbirds and short-body designs, are slightly more prone to ground looping (turning around in a circle) and can be a bit more squirrelly during taxi, but takeoffs and landings on grass (or other non-smooth surfaces) tend to be easier. Tricycle gear airplanes are nice on smooth surfaces, but can give you trouble if you forget to protect the nose gear (using elevator pressure to keep the nose up slightly/light on the wheel) and are more prone to lawn darting or flipping over forward when landing on grass (nose wheel catches). With a bit of practice and good technique, you’ll do fine with either.
Hi Nate and Abby . I just got this as my first plane... I had a successful maiden Flight.. still need to learn to land closer to me but it's still in one piece.. I have 0 experience flying planes
Nice plane. Thank you very much. I did buy this plane and i had no experience how to fly but after 2 weeks i am able to do some rolls and loops and i have a lot of fun. I built a mount for my gopro which replaced the canopy and i got some awsome videos. I wish you all the best and tanks a lot.
Some people don't like the safe mode, this has taught me how to fly without crashing, I have the mini apprentice and I'll be getting the aeroscout also now that I see how we'll it fly's Hobby Zone makes some cool airplanes my goal is to land safely and I'm doing that!
It is beginner's friendly because when beginners start out they get crossed eyed and crash. I STARTED out on those fast ass gas powered one and they were no joke, and they were fast as lighting and adjual.Fast and could do all kind of acrobatics with out u TRYING to do acrobatics and they were easy to loose Getting peoples first starting out cross eyed Thats why they allways had as a warning on them to make sure u had somebody thats a pro to supervise u.I didn't have that luxury And had to learn on the fly. But this truly is a beginner friendly plane. And thats a good thing.I never ever crashed my big motor one the professional one i got after learning how to fly the beginner one and that was and is a MIRACLE.I wish i had when i STARTED OUT a beginner friendly one like this one when i STARTED out as a wide eyed KID. I had to get the crooked eyes strait right away and not lose the aircraft. I had too learn hand and eye coordination on the fly because i had it in my mine i was not going to crash my plane that i worked hard for cutting grass and doing all kinds of things to do to make some money at a young age to get me a RC plane, UM UM i was not GOING to crash my plane that i worked very hard for not to crash i got my crossed eyes strait right away Like right right away.
Thanks! Yeah very much agreed 👍⚓😃 Super versatile and about the perfect size to just throw in the car and go flying. Love the landing gear on it as well, and cant complain about the RTF price one tiny bit! Happy Flying 👍⚓😃
Sounds like the perfect plane for me ! Tried others and, well, I need something easy and stable to learn on. Might just order it tonight. Thanks Nate ! :-)
Floating horizontal stab should help avoid decalage issues with that thin tail section. I hope it’s not a weak point. Looks like a good plane and should save some props and motors for beginners.
I've been thinking more and more about getting an rc plane. I have about half an acre, lined on two sides by trees, but I live next to a large crop field. I'd like to find a friendly club. The only one I know if in my area...well, let's say they did not make it very fun for even bystanders to watch. Anyway, that looks like the plane I need to start with. What seems to be the flying time? Please keep doing what you do. I look forward to your videos every day!
This looks like an awesome plane , I've never flown one but it really looks like fun . great job on another review , we need your experience and expertise to lead us down the right path . Thanks ...

Great job Inverted, Nathan! Those high-winged planes are usually a challenge to fly Inverted.
Hey, can you see if it has an open receiver port, so I can install some [you know what comes next] LEDS?
🚨 😊
@@calvarycustoms6681 Yes it has two open ports.
I forgot you can put cow manure on it and it'll grow thicker, don't use dry patties use the wetter ones, look what it does for your grass

You make it look easy Nate!
That intermediate mode is the best intermediate mode I’ve seen!
Can you show the transmitter while flying
Also notice the flat top stabilator which gives you slight pitch up in neutral flight modes. Great review of a great little airplane.
Wow am I first? Cool looking plane. Sorry I haven’t posted in a while but always enjoy your videos.
Hey it's really great to hear from you!! 👍⚓😃
I'll be getting mine in a couple of days...first time flyer and I am 77 years old.
Great video guys looks like a nice plane
Pls do some more of these beginner type planes. I want to get in to planes but dont know the best to start with.
I’ve been considering getting into the hobby and this sounds like a good plane to start with. I plan on getting it by Christmas and I can’t wait to have fun with it.
thanks guys for helping me find a plane for beginners, I just bought one!
Awesome Eddie!! Happy Flying 👍😎⚓
Awesome plane,great flying Nate.
That is really awesome plane for everyone, looks a pleasure to fly with the safeguards if needed. Inspires a confident flight.
Wow thx loing for new begetter plane
👍⚓😃
Thanks for the review. I have the AeroScout, just have not had a chance to fly it yet.
I got this for Christmas 2021, and just few it last Sunday, it's a very fun plane. I used a 3000mAh battery, and it did just fine. Battery needs to go as far forward as possible.
Looks great ! Nice beginner plane
I still think the dromida twin explorer is the best beginner plane. I watched you guys do a review on it and I got it and I love it. ❤️
Hey that really is a great choice for a first plane! We love the Dromida line of stuff but sadly a lot of their stuff isnt being sold any more 😢
@@TheRcSaylors yeah 😔. you guys make a really high-quality reviews. And everything you say about it is correct and makes you very trust worthy. 😀⚓😎
I bought an XK A800 tonight. I'm thinking I might add this one to the 'I'll own you my pretty' list. :)
I like you two. Y'all have the information I need to make my next toy a good one. Thank you very much!
Great flying, but the cloudy sky is awsome.
Thanks for the great review!!! 👍
Thanks for the review. Looks like a great flyer.
Very good video & nice plane 👍🤙👍
Thanks a lot Albert! 👍⚓😃
Thanks, have flown in a long time. Maybe time to get back in. Great presentation with both of you working together.
Very kool plane. Nice job brother and sister.
Between this and the Carbon cub s plus, which is best for a beginner?
Rick H this because the cub is a taildrager So you can have ground spin and That can really mess up your plane
Awesome! This might be the one I pull the trigger on for my first plane
Hi Nate and Abby . I just got this as my first plane... I had a successful maiden Flight.. still need to learn to land closer to me but it's still in one piece.. I have 0 experience flying planes
Awesome review. Great rc plane. Thanks
Putting nav lights on mine!
Nice plane. Thank you very much. I did buy this plane and i had no experience how to fly but after 2 weeks i am able to do some rolls and loops and i have a lot of fun. I built a mount for my gopro which replaced the canopy and i got some awsome videos. I wish you all the best and tanks a lot.
What happened to the sailboat demo ?
Some people don't like the safe mode, this has taught me how to fly without crashing, I have the mini apprentice and I'll be getting the aeroscout also now that I see how we'll it fly's Hobby Zone makes some cool airplanes my goal is to land safely and I'm doing that!
Can you fly the plane without?
I'm looking for a plane to learn on .. I think this is the one for me.. cant wait for the follow up video on this
As always, great video guys! Thanks for doing more airplanes.
Cool plane, I like it!
I just bought the AeroScout S 2 1.1m, havent got it up yet, im itching
I ordered this and the xk a800 today after watching your video.
Congrats on 176,000 + subscribers, that's pretty darn cool, I was subscriber 231..........
Tjakepzzz 👌👍 Sangatzzz
Very 👏👏👏 Nice
Love your videos thanks
Thats a sweet little plane. Im trying to convince the wifey that I need this plane lol. Take care Nate and Abbey!
Great Review!! That is a Smooth Flyer!! Gotta get that one!!
Thanks! Yeah very much agreed 👍⚓😃 Super versatile and about the perfect size to just throw in the car and go flying. Love the landing gear on it as well, and cant complain about the RTF price one tiny bit! Happy Flying 👍⚓😃
Looking forward to someone like you two, to review this lovely plane!👍👌👍
Just push the bind button on top in any mode and it will auto level.
I want to get back into RC flying again.. Stuff just keeps getting in the way.
Stuff keeps breaking for me hoping this plane will be decent
This is a great airplane. I have flown one a few times and I was surprised that it will fly knife edge so well. I am planning on buying one for a Fpv.
It's an E-sky Eyas (Eagles) with Rx+stabilizer and a slightly different prop+motor.
I think it's so funny that you always have to duck down . After you are done taking about something. To get yourself back in the picture. 😂
This looks like an awesome plane , I've never flown one but it really looks like fun . great job on another review , we need your experience and expertise to lead us down the right path . Thanks ...
Yep great plane Mine has midd High and low rates
Awesome plane Thanks for all the great info Guy's great vid as always 🔥👍 ✌️
