There are quite a few transmitters that can work with that, but I’d recommend something from Spektrum for anything Eflite BNF. It’s very easy to connect and fly, mainly taking advantage of SAFE technology which is their version of stabilization.
I used to like Spektrum radios & own the DX6 which I bought 13 years ago for nearly $300. I abandoned the hobby for 12 years, but became interested again with the advent of flight controllers that allow for mission flying, terrain following & etc. To my disappointment it certainly appears that Spektrum has stayed away from being useful for use with flight controllers thru their receivers largely being unable to connect via serial communication to controllers. Sure there are the satellite receivers that with work arounds can be mated with a controller, but all other of their serial output receivers only can send telemetry. On the otherhand brands that did not exist to my knowledge 13 years ago such as Radiomaster, Radiolink... not only have receivers with serial called SBUS output for connection to controllers, but can also send PWM signals individually to servos if not using a controller. To top it off, these newcomers are a lot less expensive than Spektrum. Hence, now with Spektrum, contrary to all the hype when 2.4 Ghz spread spectrum radios initially were introduced, we have Spektrum gives one, you pay more & get much less.
Honestly? I wouldn’t strongly recommend it. However, you’d stand a much higher chance for success with this than things that existed when I was a kid!! Having said that, though if you are learning to fly there are some other options I’d recommend just to learn the ropes on. 👍😁⚓️
you are missing one a10 :D I habe the freewing a10 with dual 80mm EDF but did the 90mm conversion with wemotec fans - that thing rips. When i tried to run that thing in my livingroom it threw stuff around all over the place xD
Every since my back went out and took me out of work, I’ve been giving rc flying some serious thought! Just don’t know which is the more common since way to go. Obviously it can be an expensive hobby by the time you buy everything you have to have just to start flying. I love those A-10’s you showed! Any idea on what I should look at as a beginner?
Habu sts. Awesome first jet. Even works well a first bird! Bought mine in the rtf version so didn't need anything outside of the box to get up in the air!
Steve, I also have back problems. And many different planes, and carrying around just a plane, the transmitter, and batteries, is tough. As a beginner you should buy a trainer model first, about 1200 mm wingspan, and a decent transmitter like a NX8 or 10. The big money you will spend on the LiPo Accu's so it's important to start with a few similar models; most of them use 3S 2'200 mAh. What I do not recommend: Spektrum LiPo's because they are so smart they discharge themselves automatically after about 2 -3 days non -use. After so many years of flying, that was a nasty surprise to me, as I usually have a few accu's in my car besides a plane or two. Anyways, see this video of my Eflite T-28 Trojan, a pretty fast one: ruclips.net/video/us_E9pYCzGI/видео.html
I got the little one as my first EDF. You and others say that EDFs fly differently, so do you think it's representative of the experience? If I moved up to something bigger, like a Viper or Falcon, aside from speed and power, would I be surprised by a lot?
The little a10 is a real sweet heart, its much more tame far as takeoff and landing, very easy. I think the big a10 is real similar and a sweet heart as well. They are good jets because of the large wing, still very fast. That being said I do not have a viper but do have an avanti v3. The avanti its also a real sweet heart. I think its easyier to land than my zero fighter or other tail draggers. Some edfs are way more intense. Like my freewing f5 80mm hp, very high landing speed but so fun. If you can handle the little a10 with no issues. I think a viper or an avanti or a habu ss or a big a10 is the ticket. Another really sweet, step up bird, is eflites f15 64mm. Mine has been on a couple hundred problem free flights. Its super easy to land and once your used to it, you can high alpha at about 3 miles an hour with your nose way up in the air and i can hover mine. I did add servos and functional rudders to my f15, the f15 basically dosnt stall, either. I mean you can stall it but you have to try. Its so well behaived, eflites 70mm f16 thunderbird is another that almost wont stall, thier both really amazing jets. The f16 is sweet but a little more challenging, just a tiny bit , tho. Anyway best of luck.
@@mongoose4117 great response! I’m in the same boat, I am starting to get a bit bored with the Umx a10. Do I go to the eflight 64mm a10, eflight 70mm f16, or try a different brand? Any thoughts?

Honestly? I wouldn’t strongly recommend it. However, you’d stand a much higher chance for success with this than things that existed when I was a kid!! Having said that, though if you are learning to fly there are some other options I’d recommend just to learn the ropes on. 👍😁⚓️
you are missing one a10 :D
I habe the freewing a10 with dual 80mm EDF but did the 90mm conversion with wemotec fans - that thing rips.
Depends what your budget is Steve, but this video is an amazing place to start - ruclips.net/video/jspvyJ3WMLo/видео.html
Try one of the eachine mini Warbirds, so easy and so much fun to fly, and because they are so cheap/indestructible there is no fear/worry of crashing,
@@ptgfox3082 thanks, I’ll check them out!
ANYDAY just LANDING without breaking something is soo satisfying even if frostbite has kicked in!
Any thoughts?
could u give me some rc plane recomendations
You guys upgraded your camera gear I see. Youre getting some pretty shallow depth of field. What system and lens combo did ya'll upgrade to?
For being a parkflyer, the UMX aircraft have the flight envelope covered, but the scream of the motor(s) is a deal breaker to fly in those venues. Why can't technology deal with this grating scream ?
A silent jet?😂😂 that would be horrible I wanna hear that shit whine
Could make fpv on the big one.
Hey spectrum radio question in a boat and I'm needing to get the cheapest controller to work that receiver can you help me out is it the DX 4 dx3
And under 250g with batteries! Shut up and take our money 💰😂
what would you recommend for a brand new flyer? plane, remote, batteries, the whole kit a kaboodle? thx
You don’t pull up hard from a strafing pass to avoid enemy fire, so much as to avoid your own ricochets.
How long is the flying time on the small jet
Which RC plane gives the best flight time?
Between the two of these? The smaller one. Or do you just mean in general?
With flaps down will it go as slow as the viper?
Not quite but it still slows down A LOT! 👍😁😎⚓️
Interesante amigo.
Does this video mean they are bringing back the A-10 64 mm EDF? It was just discontinued.
