I wish that Blackfire appeared in more episodes. I would have love to have seen an episode where her and starfire finally were able to make peace with each other.
Lauren Faust's DC super hero girl high school series does do something like that, said series is vaguely more like the comic though, with blackfire being unable to fly
honestly, Starfire and Blackfire would've been such a good team if the Gordanians never interfered and despite all the awful things that happened to Star, I kinda feel bad for Blackfire aswell. She had to sell her sister to a rival alien race to stop a war and accidentally killed her parents in the process... most of her "evilness" probably comes from being born into a war and never having the chance to leave like Star did, it's all just acts of defense.
I thought there was some other source i read where blackfire chose to use startfire as an outlet to lash out her emotions on. Was it possible too (even though it wasnt stated in the video nor in the series) again a possibility that blackfire was treated badly due to the deal that she looked nothing like her family nor anyone else on the planet? While it could be possible that she was treated badly since she was the only one there who had black eyes, black hair, and when seeing her activate you see purple instead of green...like starfire and wlidfire. Again im only asking since all the others including starfire had Red hair, Green eyes, when seeing powers activate it was green. Was there somewhere along the lines of the home planet they treated blackfire as an outcast just based off of how she looked? I will still say it doesnt excuse her from her actions at all. If this was something then she couldve found a way to reach out to her sister than of using her as a physical and emotional punching bag as she pleased.
I don't have the full context of the comic, but the bits he showed made it seem like Blackfire wasn't exactly torn up about selling her sister. Seemed like she was jealous of the attention Starfire got and simply wanted to pick on her. But that 'picking' got more intense as the girls got older and Blackfire essentially became cruel and inhumane
Yeahhh especially since each season had an individual focus on a different Titan, with season 2 focusing on the introduction of Terra and her betrayal. Season 6 could’ve easily been for Starfire and probably was intended to before getting cancelled.
When Starfire told Robin to leave her alone after she learned English I don't think she was talking about blackfire I think she meant the gordanians would destroy Earth should they help her which they later tried to do using a gigantic particle weapon until the Titans stopped them
For me the saddest thing is that blackfire was emotionally damaged by her upbringing before Starfire was born in the comics and AFTER in the show universe turning what should've been a healthy relationship into a pile of miscommunication and trauma. I still can't tell to what degree Starfire is actually aware of this There's actually an entire storyline post 52 confirming blackfire would NOT have become evil on her own.
Her relationship with Blackfire is really messed up for sure, but calling it the "worse family dynamic" in the team is a stretch when we have Raven, who was "destined" to be possesed by her demonic father and be forced to destroy the world.
If i'm remembering correctly wasn't it Blackfire who originally sold out Tamaran to the Gordainians (probably for power?) and caused the war in the first place? Plus Tamaran used to be a thriving planet of plant life before the attack meaning she pretty much destroyed her planet too (when you see how it is now) But fortunately Wildfire is technically still alive, canonically he's off with some intergalactic superhero team fighting the Gordainians so hopefully the siblings will meet again someday
Teen Titans was very influenced by anime, to the point that after cartoon network aired "Fooly Cooly" , Teen Titans adapted some it's style into the show.
2:12 The show made a subtle point here. The gem did not even get enough screentime considering how much BlackFire hyped it up as something that'll make her invincible. The boost due to a random mcguffin could not help against a StarFire that got an emotional power up from having the Titans by her side. It was the show telling us that no amount of material wealth is going to give us the motivation we need to live. But loved ones will.
I'm glad you're doing an in depth dive into the teen titans and references to the go comic are being used, I think u should continue with these, I saw u had done Raven and Terra too, still I think u should do videos for the titans ( beast boy, cyborg and maybe a video of the titan the cartoon or go comic never covers in detail -being Jericho and how his sister was seen in the go comic)
I used to get the Teen Titans Go comics in the mail when I was a kid and I have the one that mentions Wildfire. Starfire actually reunites with him for a day but then it’s revealed that he was Madame Rouge in disguise. Blackfire teamed up with her and provided a description of what Wildfire might currently look like so she could sneak into the tower and destroy the titans.
Excellent question in the comics the show is based on blackfire was unable to fly and because the citadel attacked her planning on the day of her birth it caused people to think she was a bad omen and finally she was passed over as heir to the throne in favor of her sister who has the ability to fly. But in this continuity the comics that explains Starfire's origin and involving her long-lost brother wildfire reveals black fire was always jealous of her younger siblings Starfire for being more well-liked because she was pretty and nice and wildfire because even though he was youngest he would one day rule the planet. Which makes her come off as even more petty than her original comic counterpart who might be even more darker but someone sympathetic.

1:05. I fail to understand why you would be taken aback from Starfire getting married and never coming back. We all know she wouldn’t leave the team because something will happen at the end of the episode where she would remain on earth. It’s not something to be taken aback about.
