Thanks for the reassurance. I dealt with irregular heartbeat for a number of years, recently I managed to fight the anxiety/fear and rejoin a gym and get on a weight lifting programme. Everything was going fine, I was experiencing no irregularities at all for months (except the odd benign ectopic at rest), then randomly today I got 3-4 skipped heartbeats in a row half way through a heavy weights set. But screw it, I'm going to carry on with the gym and not let this crap get to me. Thanks.

They said I got a healthy heart with an occasional PVC during exercise, but nothing to worry about. I recommend to eat a healthy diet with little sugar and caffeine. Try to avoid caffeine altogether if you're sensitive to it. If you haven't exercised in a while, start at a slow pace for a max 30 minutes a day and gradually increase your exertion. I'm 23 years old, 1.80 meters tall, and weigh 78 kg. I've been an athlete all my life, but since around 2020, I started to notice several additional heartbeats after finishing my training sessions (during the recovery period). I often associate the first occurrences with my last years of engineering, where I experienced a lot of anxiety. The thing is, since then, despite having overcome the anxiety issues, the supraventricular extrasystoles (PAC's) have persisted. I've been checked by various doctors in different countries, and all of them tell me they are benign or that I don't have enough at rest to warrant an ablation, but this reality doesn't help me at all because what matters to me is to do sports without discomfort or worry. From doing all kinds of physical activity, it's already been 3 years where I've had to limit myself to static weight lifting or very gentle cardio, and this has me extremely frustrated. Every time I push myself a bit further, they occur after the training session. I've never had them during the exercise, it's always when I finish, and living with the constant worry that they will occur is shitty

I'd do two things first, drinking plenty of water and taking a close look at your digestive system. Had a ton of skipped beats in the past, but it turned they were due to my digestive system clogged and slowed down. As such it put a lot of unnecessary strain on my heart and it would occasionally skip a beat. I did every test my dr could think of but nothing was flagged. It got so bad that I had thousands of skipped beats per day. I was losing my mind trying to figure it out, then tried changing my diet to improve the digestive process (less carbs, healthier food in general) and viola, those skipped beat were gone, completely. I'd still get them during swimming, but that was because of narrowing of blood vessels in cold water, or when warming up too quickly during workouts, especially in cold weather.

@@omkartiwari4585 They are gone. But, I can still get a few here and there when overeating (overdoing carbs and sugars), or when warming up to quickly. BTW, the latter is completely normal.
So, things that solved this problem for me:
Low carb diet (close to keto but allowing yourself to slip here and there, live a little), exercise (short bursts of HIIT, strength, but no crazy sustained cardio. I find that intense cardio is bad for me), 1.5-2 liters of water daily, cold showers (helps to keep your immune system in shape and reduces inflammation and stress.
Another note, make sure you are not overdoing vitamin D. I found that taking too much D causes skipped beats for some reason.

Its fine to say that a normal echo or stress test means your not going to have heart issues, however its tough to rationalism that when you get strong beats during or after exercise and they are extremely painful. I started getting these strong beats after exercise on a regular basis, but I didnt immediately associate them with ectopics because they were so painful. But after having these extreme chest pains for 6 months I finally quit exercising completely in spite of the fact that my echo, my stress tests etc all came back as normal.
No one can ignore extreme chest pains forever, its your body telling you something is wrong. Sadly, Ive been too scared now to go back to exercise as I cannot face the chest pains, they are too scary and consistent. I do not have check pains when I do not exercise.

Some palps even happen with sudden body changes like beding over or squatting down. Every now and then I get random tightness in chest and very occasionally i get left side angina that come for a few seconds and then gone. Also ever since covid started i have had more headaches than ever the past 2 years. I feel like I'm going to die and when they happen my heart beats really fast and I just wanna drop everything and go home and lay down. Even if they happen at work I get super anxious and just wanna leave work. I check my BP at home excessively and its almost always under 120/80. Every now and then i may have BP that 122/78 or 129/75. I was diagnosed back in my 20s in an ER and they said i had a panic attack. Now here 40 yo i am getting them even more. I do have anxiety and fear of palps happening and me losing control. I take magnesium, coq10, and fish oil daily. Am I being overly anxious with all this? Any advice??? I have been told fish oil actually has a tendency to incite palpitations, and I’ve been diagnosed with sleep apnea as a potential contributor, so consider dropping the fish oil and get a sleep study done, otherwise the health system has been extremely unmotivated to help me

I get these on exercise, at rates as high as 170+ but most commonly when my heart starts to lower to around 140-150. Pretty much every time I exercise, usually one or two but can get clusters of them happening every few beats for a few minutes (usually on long endurance rides). I’ve had a recent stress test (in which no ectopics happened) and got to the last level. Few months before that I had a holter for 3 days, some were captured but only single ones. They have become more common on exercise, I still don’t get them outside of exercise (sometimes very rarely). I’m sure it’s my anxiety but, I just can’t shift the anxiety of why I get these exercising but not at rest!

@@Catgat37 yes. I had my appointment with Dr Gupta and we had a stress echocardiogram..typically no ectopics occurred but that could only be reassuring. Everything was fine, I also discovered my valves leak a small amount of blood which initially felt scary as this was every valve (if I remember correctly) but with this, the ectopics, and other things I consider unusual about my heart but most importantly the reassurance from Dr Gupta and other cardiologists I’ve come to the conclusion that a heart can have many differences to what is considered ‘normal’ and yet still be perfectly healthy.
My advice to anyone with ectopics is to get them checked out. But, if you have health anxiety like me I genuinely now believe this is the cause of mine. I still get them on exercise but I have to be honest and say not as much (or at least I don’t notice them as much). Probably because I don’t pay them the attention I first did.
It’s terrifying and it can really take you down a dark road of anxiety as mine did! They started because of anxiety, and got much worse with anxiety.
Final thing I would say is, at first and for a while after I ruled out anxiety as the cause of mine because they would happen randomly such as when I was feeling fine and so I labelled them as something more sinister… truthfully I now believe (as much as my anxiety still tries to convince me otherwise) is that these are 100% anxiety and nothing else or simply just a benign ectopic (which is very normal for a very large proportion of people).
If you get them and haven’t had them checked out, just go see your Dr and take their advice. If you suffer with anxiety, particularly health anxiety please be reassured that they are likely the cause of these and nothing else… but still go get them checked out for your own piece of mind!

Then when I'm walking briskly on a hot day I may notice 1 or 2 during my walk, sometimes I won't have any.
Then I will notice them occaisionally at rest.
If I have a stressful day, and I've been anxious, I will notice frequent bouts of ectopic. My ectopics are consistent in the fact that whenever my heart is above 130, I will always get 1 really powerful missed beat or two.

recently i've gotten palpitations that happen all the time, every single beat felt 'wrong' and i had no energy even walking around. 33 years old. Had multiple ekg/ecg? blood pressure, blood tests chest x ray and ct scan... nothing showed up.
Which would make you think it's anxiety, except that doesn't explain how I have no energy and can barely walk around the house let alone 'exercise'...
Was given beta blockers which calmed down the palipations, leaving just a very feint flutter on each heartbeat (again all the time)... still can barely walk and have gotten brief pains in wrist and hands along with tiny veins appearing there that I've never seen before.

I have had an Echocardiogram done and also Cardio Angiogram done and both were fine other than minor CAD and some thickness due to high BP. I still get Ectopic beats which I can manage but I get them after eating a meal and I can get about 5 or 6 in one minute and this lasts for nearly 2 hours and then they start to calm down. I think this has to do with my stomach issues as I get a lot of bloating and belching/burping.
A few months ago I had walked from one building to another and it took me less than 10 minutes but I was walking faster, when I got there my heart was going so fast and all I could feel in my chest was like a vibrating feeling, the heart was just doing something on it's own. It took me 10-15 minutes for the heart to go back to it's normal rhythm. I got this same feeling the other day when I bent down to pick up a rubbish bin bag which was heavy to move. I noticed my heart started to play up, it was like it was shaking/jumping so I sat down and the feeling went away. To this day I have no answers what this feeling in the chest is. I had a 72 hour ECG monitor on me and this episode did not happen unfortunately. It looks to me when I put my heart under stress that's when this episode occurs. I have also noticed it happens mostly in the mornings. My work colleague thinks it may have something do with me having a shower every morning coming to work and maybe the heat of the water is affecting my heart etc. I have been put on 5mg Amlodipine taking in the morning and 5mg Ramipril at night which is keeping the BP in check.
I hope everyone stays safe, take care.

I had an PVI Ablation with isthmus A-Flutter Line, stopped Amioderone 1 month post and it's been a 'creeper' where I'm able to do less and less, seems anything like light gardening and shopping sets me off, I get consistency and progression. If I try to break though the barriers then I pay for it. For the next 3-4 days after being active I then get ectopics just standing up on my feet then after days of bedrest I can walk around without triggering. At it's worst I get it all, I have a Wellue 24 hr heart monitor, picks up, PVC, PVC Bi and Tri, PAC, PAC Bi and Tri, SVT, A-fib, couplets PAC and PVC . Anything that involves flailing my arms around in activity will set me off. If I need to be busy I get a bad run, sit down for 5 mins, they go away and I restart my activity and comes back and I sit down, over and over again until I finish what I need to do and then I pay the price for the next couple of days. I'm coming up to 4 1/2 months post ablation and my heart scars from the ablation may still be forming

I stopped for a while and then stopped too and when I went back I didn‘t get any for more 15 minutes and when I was getting home I got 1-2 again. I‘m really scared now. Im a 36 year old ultra marathon runner. I have been getting pvcs (sometimes 3 joined together) on excerice for 4 months now. They start at around 115bpm and will get around 50 per 5 mins and they can be very painful. The more a train the worse it gets and they enter into my normal daily life. When they are bad i get nerve type buzz/tingling deep in my throat/chest. When i rest for a few weeks it goes away. Im then to told by cardyoligists each time that i can "get on with my life" and even written me out a training plan. I then start training again and withing a few days it gets really bad again and i cant even work because my heart keeps vibrating everytime i move. Ive had every cardiac test possible up to a Cardiac stress MRI which is very unpleasant. All has been ruled out as a cardiac issue. I am now going down the path of Esophagus and Neurological. In my own experience I feel I've been given poor advice by 3 cardiologists and a radiologist as there advice has spurred my on to exacerbate my symptoms and make me worse off than before..
In some cases I would be weary of taking cardiologists advice if they havent figured out the underlying cause. They are trained in one specific area and dont cross over into other parts of the anatomy.
I have finally come across an amazing GP who seems very interested in helping me get to the bottom of it. We have agreed that in the short to possibly long term I have to quit running as we believe it could be caused by exhausting nerves or nerve compression through injury which if constantly irrated could end up being much worse.
I would be interested in getting in touch or talking to anyone else that is going through something similar or who has had any success...

    • @roobuscubus251
      @roobuscubus251 3 месяца назад

@dreadwolfy7568 After a long year. Mine have come down to severe stress from a marriage break up mixed with a hiatus hernia. I was holding so much tension in my diaphragm and abdomen constantly that it was pushing up through my esophagus. All my muscles in my esophagus stopped working too and I couldn't eat for days at a time. The nerves for the esophagus are linked with the heart also so they can get confused. I was also unable to regulate hot or cold weather and would shiver and my heart would vibrate. It was basically a nervous break down.
I was prescribed setraline for a month and left my wife and its nearly all cleared up. I still have a few mild symptoms and can't run yet but it's definitely healed a lot. I only get about 2 flip flops or rumbles from heart a week now down from about 500 a week...

I found this after being worried by some eptopic beats. I’ve just started going for longer walks. I push a buggy at a good pace without stopping for about 10,000 steps sometimes more (I’ve just started doing this every day) Two days in a row once I was back to the house I felt palpitations apon stopping I guess quite suddenly. It is the time in my cycle where my hormones are going mad and it’s been hot outside. I had an ecg in October which was fine. I felt two eptopic beats yesterday when doing a shorter walk but was quite relaxed in the evening and it then frightened me.. should I be worried by these?! Putting pressure by lifting heavyweights, increasing heart rate and pretty sure you'll be holding your breath for brief moments and tending your core, will likely give you ectopics every now and then anyway reduce The weight you don't need to lift extremely heavy to achieve a good body or strength, strength to me is p4p (pound for pound) so a guy who can do 20 pull ups who is 140lb is stronger for his weight than a guy who's 200lb that can only so 8 pull ups but can bench maybe 200kg that 140lb guy is still stronger for his weight, and in life and every day situations core strength is much more vital than static strength

This sounds the same as what Im getting, I'll do an hour or so of intervals and feel fine during it, but when I stop I suddenly will get 2 or 3 pains in my chest that feel like a fist is trying to push its way up my throat. Is it the same for you?

    • @yungthug2403

@@aegisgfx You get them because you're changing your levels of energy, you're exercising, while you have anxiety, and then you stop exercising, but your anxiety is still there, panicking yourself, which will be strange for your heart plus you're thinking about those ectopics. your breathing probably changes too, which heart works in relation to the lungs, vice versa, it's nothing to be worried about, you afraid of getting a heart attack? Well ectopics don't really relate to a heart attack and if they did, they would be stronger dur-in exercise when your heart is working it's hardest not after, non of which you described relate to any heart problem, which highlights my first point, anxiety and stress.

Doc quick question please. So I got up this morning underslept, loads of anxiety. I'm dealing and curing my anxiety disorder successfully but still get anxious at night sometimes and ectopics and that prevents me from sleeping, like hypnic jerks or a rush of adrenaline througout my body as I'm falling asleep and that feaks me out , wakes me upand my heart palpitates. I't s getting better as I'm practicing mindfulness and earthing. Anyways this morning while underslept and over anxious I started to do an intense calisthenics workout, like still not fully awake and I got 3 big skipped beats followed by a big beat and then regular rhythm. Then After 20 minutes, I watched your video about progression/consistency and I said, let me test to see if I would get the same ectopics with the same exercise. So I repeated the same exercise and I didn't get any ectopics at all. Also, I'm full of energy and not tired at all. Not breathless, no pain in my chest. Feel fine. So I guess based on your description this is most likely a situational ectopic caused by stress, lack of sleep, exercise rather than a heart related thing right? Thanks Omar

Hopefully I can because that will mean I’m not having 100s a day

Doc need your help pls can you quickly look into this. So I've been under extreme stress, recovering from health anxiety and panic disorder. Doing a lot better with meditation, being more mindful, better sleeping habits, better hydration, a solid whole foods diet, etc. However uptil that point I think I got GERD but I'm treating it and basically coming into my normal self again. So the last 3 days I've had some very painful ectopics.. They always happen in the same position. I was out with my friends talking for hours after a long days of work and underslept or with interrupted sleep. I had drank carbonated Perrier, ate Dark chocolate and chewed sugar free gum with apsartame gum throughout the day( i recently learned that these are food triggers for ectopics). Anyways On Friday I was so stressed, anxious and panicky that I got a big ectopic(no pain), then after I was so tired, my chest felt tight and then I was sitting in my friends car and I had another ectopic but it was painful or it could have been a muscle spasm or esophageal spasm or something due to acid reflux from anxiety. I had the same painful ectopic yesterday sitting in my friends car. I was anxious and had a bad stomach pain from anxiety. I also notice that a few times last week, when I'm bent f forward with intensity, looking at something on the computer or in my head I get an extra beat that hurts . When I breath I'm fine. Also today I was exhausted, and had some indigestion from anxiety and was walking briskly to the market and I felt a painful, thud, ectopic and it was painful and uneasy. Funny enough after that I felt so relieved and light almost if this and the others were just gas. I feel better after I burp. Almonst like it was gas or a bubble and then it just popped and the air came out and I'm fine. Anyways I've been dealing with I think GERD or acid reflex from stress/anxiety and I know that as I feel I tight knot in my epigastric area and can point to the spot and it feels tight and tender. When I'm calm, no pressure or pain. Anyways wanted to know what foods to avoid for ectopics or what foods are good( I hear almonds, bananas are great). Also, are these ectopics or just gas related spasms in the chest or vagal nerve spasms or upper gastric spasms. MY BP is normal at 110/82, my parents are 70s, no heart disease, perfect health, so good genes. I can workout like a savage and don't get tired at all, no fainting, no afib, just been stressed, anxious and with stomach acid, gut, acid irritation from anxiety. Doing whatever I can to calm down and it is working bn it. Thanks.

    • @gloriamaryhaywood2217
      @gloriamaryhaywood2217 3 года назад +1

Sounds like most of your episodes are triggered by your stomach and stress. And it's probably over-stimulating the vagus nerve.
I have actual Afib and I'm positive it is triggered by the vagus nerve connection. Everything points to it. Since changing my diet and adding magnesium I haven't experienced Afib in almost a year now.
