Are you excited for "Alien: Romulus"?
Absolutely I'll be in the theater first day. I've been wanting to see a film about eh Alien: King for years and always thought Ripley's daughter has a story of her own to be told/exlplored
Yes very, I’ve gone from complete indifference to , yes this looks great, I hope we are not tricked again.
Yes!
Literally nobody is. This will be yet another box office disaster and everyone knows it. Hollywood is out of ideas and can only do half-assed reboots of things that were great twenty years ago entirely because they were well-executed ORIGINAL IDEAS. Now we're getting the discount Wish versions because nobody knows how to come up with anything original anymore, and even the production values are somehow plummeting. What a sad situation.
No, not anymore, not with your 'accent' spoiling it...
I can tell you the plot. They'll find an empty spaceship. They'll find eggs on it. One will hatch and infect one crew member. Then an alien will burst out of them and each crew member will get picked off one by one with one surviving at the end (probably a woman)and some kind of cliff hanger where the alien is actually still alive
Dayam! You should work in Hollywood!
prophetic.... I would never have guessed this.
And there'll be an evil android, and a dickhead corporate guy in the mix somewhere.
You got it wrong. You didn't mention they were eating lunch when the alien jumps out. Which is so different because they were eating dinner the first time the alien jumps out 😂.
Hollywood is out of ideas. God just move on and make something new already. They are just repeating themselves.
Alien isolation vibe
Wonder if this is just gonna come out with it closer to release date and say the lead is Ripley's daughter and it's basically just a adaption of the game.
Nah, Alien vibe.
By the time the film takes place, Sevastopol is already 5 years destroyed. So I doubt Ripley will be here.
💯 agree
Is this a cross-over with Star Trek with the Romulans and shit
Judging by how he treated Evil Dead, this movie will be absolutely brutal.
No it won't Disney censored the last predator movie...they're gonna disneyfy this shit.
@enterusername4650 i highly doubt that this is going to be a rated R movie so shit will get brutal AF
@@speckyhotdog84anderson6 so was the kings man and prey. Ryan Reynolds confirmed Deadpool 3 was censored. You're an idiot if you don't believe me. The writing is on the wall. Look it up.
Nope , Disney is involved everywherw
The ignorance in here. Disney stayed out of Deadpool's way. As intrusive as they can be, they're well aware that horror isn't their M.O. and try to stay out of it. Prey was a product of Soderberg who has a fascination with heroine figures.
We saw a flying Facehugger in Aliens in the med bay scene.
Yep, I just commented that too. Funny how no one else remembers it 😂
Sounds like the stupid movie they made. It's good they are going back to the roots… maybe the community will stop dying

Ripley was a badass and she defined the franchise, Aliens
Jeez…Alien: Covenant itself 2017 already?!! WTF I’m really getting older
I had the exact same thought!
Really feels like covid caused a time jump.
And then one day you’ll find, ten years have got behind you…
my thoughts exactly!
Same
I prefer the first movie. Alien premiered on May 25, 1979, as the opening night of the fourth Seattle International Film Festival, presented in 70 mm at midnight. Critical reassessment since then has resulted in Alien being widely considered one of the greatest and most influential science fiction and horror films of all time.
One word about this movie does deeply alarm me.
Disney!
Noooo! It's Disney? gaaaah
Oh no!!!!! Say it isn't so:(
Wouldn't even matter if Disney had no hand in it, it would still be shite. You cannot recover from Covenant.
Thats my biggest concern. And thats why Im expecting the biggest pile of trash released this year.
So basically the film will be about the Alien killing everyone because the crew misgendered it
Just dont get too hyped yet, its only few minutes trailer. Hyping is big issue these days in all media, people start to expect too much and get disappointed in the end.
I wish more people thought like you
Its looks creepy good
Yeah but we can still hope ❤
Nah I’m getting hyped. The directors previous 2 movies are horror masterpieces
It's garbage

So true.. aliens is my favorite movie of all time.. alien is up there as well.. if it’s anywhere close to either 2 I will be so hyped.. seen alien and aliens probably a hundred times(I’m 38 and have watched them all the time since I was a kid).
33 year old here and so excited!
I’m 33 I’ve seen all the Alien and Predator movies and this one might be okay. My theory is this could be Amanda Ripley she was mentioned in Aliens and is the playable character in Isolation. Since this movie takes place between Alien and Aliens it’s possible it’s Amanda Ripley.
@@ryans413 true. Alien isolation was crazy. Would be a fun storyline if she’s the main character.

In the future, teens go straight from flipping burgers to flying spaceships. It's very believable. Alien- Nine-O-Two-One-Ohhhhh !
the real problem with prometheus and covenant is that the movies (especially Covenant) didn't make much sense because there was too much conflict of interest when it came to what would ultimately make it into the final cut. Scripts were changed, scenes were deleted, and all of it made the story more confusing by basically gutting the big ideas and plot points. I mean the whole story with the black goo and the origin of the alien and the engineers wasn't supposed to be such a mess but they had scrapped their original story for these things without much of a new story to fill in the gap and so it was just a weird blend of different creative input, like the shell of a good story but with loose ends and discrepancies within the details. I hope this movie can bring back some hype about this series because I thought prometheus and covenant had so much potential that went to waste
I don’t think that was actually the case with Prometheus. If you think about it, alien 1-4 is essentially the same movie, as to what the actual plot is. Prometheus felt much more fresh and had something new to offer, they could have expanded the lore in so many different ways. Instead we got covenant, which was such a mess, just all over the place trying to please everyone and mostly trying to be an -alien- movie and crow pleaser 😢… such a wasted opportunity. This one tbh looks super generic, but lets hope that’s not the case
I don't think there was as much question over what to leave in Prometheus as you make out. Ridley Scott is well known for re-cutting his movies. Just look at Blade Runner, Kingdom of Heaven and even Alien! The thing is I loved the Engineers, but the studio told him that fans didn't want that, so in Covenant he kills the engineers off. I was so disappointed because he'd set up this exciting new element and then immediately removed it.
Covenant's main issue was trying to appeal to more traditional Alien fans while trying to be a sequel to Prometheus. Prometheus does a really good job at standing on its own and not trying to be just another Alien film - to the point that the "aliens" are in fact progenitor humans... that's truly terrifying. And I like it for that reason. Covenant's most interesting components are from Prometheus, and as a result, the way that it tries to be a traditional Alien film don't really mesh well - and while I love Michael Fassbender (he is an AMAZING actor), I don't think David was strong enough as a villain in Covenant to carry the film on his own basically.
@@Fatpie42 The studio wanted a new IP. They did not want a sequel/prequel of Alien which caused them to get Ridley to pivot from what he would have delivered. That is why Prometheus and Covenant were so disjointed.
@@maylene421 Agreed I would have preferred prometheus 2 to the abortion that is alien covenant
After killing off Shaw instead of continuing that that storyline, I've all but given up & a shallow remake isn't going to make me forget
Prometheus and covenant are complete Shit
Me too dawg, just hate that we may never see a conclusion to Alien Covenant.
Unless they make a movie just entitled "David: blah blah." They got to conclude Alient Covenant! I have been waiting!
I agree, Alien has gone down the route of Slasher franchises that started in the 80's. We know who the baddie is, so all that is left is jump frights and screaming idiots. I had hoped for so much more.
Not a common perspective but I liked Prometheus. Only got through half an hour of covenant and turned it off, seemed like a load of bollocks
Ive seen facehuggers run and jump before. So, no one remembers the scene in Aliens when Burke left the face huggers in the med room with Ripley and Newt? 🤔
also AvP has a pretty cool shot that went slow-mo of a face hugger leaping through the air and latching onto that one chicks face.
@JasonAdank Yes correct. I remember that, in the fight with the Predator.
Wtf where is the story with those engineers and David.
In the garbage can with Shaw. We got Covenant instead. Now another bug hunt.
Nobody cares
@@mikegraham4255 Damn I would have preferred Shaw and the engineers
This film will be shit same as Covenant.
They ruined the mystery concerning the engineers. Ridley Scott should not be involved with the alien genre anymore all of the films we got hype for were literal dogshit. Even alien 3 was better. There I said it.
I'm waiting for Alien: Sisyphus.
😂😂😂
Hasn't it been well-proven by now NOT to judge a movie by its trailer?
Too often more thought goes into SELLING a picture to an audience, than respect for an audience's intelligence in its actual production.
If any of you would look up the 21 min director interview, IT CHANGED MY MIND after watching...i have complete faith now, that it will be good.
This essentially is a live version of alien isolation
Looks like right?
I really liked the lore aspect of Prometheus. It was the 1 dimensional characters and the plot that really let it down. I wanted to know more about the engineers and why they wanted to create this other version of themselves (us humans) and then wipe us out. But, we didn't get to because all of that was discarded in the making of Covenant. The engineers called their home world paradise. I wanted to know what that meant and how they were living to make it so. Maybe then David could have gone completely rogue and do something drastic but wiping them out straight away ruined the set up at the end of Prometheus. The questions about where we come from has not been explored that much in movies. We don't know how life came to be on earth, whether it evolved here or was seeded by a comet. Exploring this in a movie was super exciting as it probes our existential longing for answers about our own existence and purpose.
I'm really hoping the Romulans aren't cloaked in the Official Trailer.
Residents of Romulus, Michigan are saying "wait, what?!"
Next Alien film should be called shake and bake
But it takes decades 😉
it's been 45 years since Alien (1979) found it's way into our imaginations, and fans of that film have been begging for a proper sequel ever since.
Aliens (1986) was a great follow up, but it was a different kind of movie and didn't do much to scratch the pure horror itch that many of us had after the first movie. Every other entry after that has been part of a downward spiral, and the modern "Prometheus" era films (while also quite good) might as well be a different franchise as the only connections to the original story are loose or shoehorned in at best.
The hype is so real with this trailer, and I really hope it lives up to what it is promising here. Fans have been waiting patiently for so long. We have been loyal. We have never stopped supporting everyone involved, even through the garbage, which is sadly quite a rare level of loyalty among fans of other sci-fi franchises.
The formula is right there in the first film... That formula was proven to be effective again, even with modern audiences, with the success of the game "Alien: Isolation".
just follow that, throw some real passion behind the work, and I really don't see how it could fail!
The Alien franchise has never been as good as it was in the first two (and I'd add the third because I liked it) movies. All the others were sub-par. The franchise needs to embrace the horror and colonial (marines/war) aspect.
YO some Alien3 love 👍
While I mostly agree with your statement, I don't think it was the marine/colonial aspect that makes those earlier movies good. I mean it's something unique and definitely made the 2nd good, but there is more at play as to why those first 3 films were good (and I mean the director's cut of Alien 3 btw). The alien creature was respected more, and the movies embraced the horror a lot more on top of being pretty bleak movies. I think that was actually the key. They should be bleak movies, and if anything Aliens 2, got away with not doing that. These movies are at their best when the situation feels a little hopeless. That's when the creature is at it's scariest.
The thing about the 3rd though is that end chase scene when the prisoners are luring the alien by having it chase them and closing the big doors behind it……they used cgi for the alien and it looks horrific now!! I wish they would spend a little money and make an ultimate edition and redo those alien scenes! Film is good other than that!!!
@@SpecialOrder935 i got u hommie! :D
Ripley (not the clone), played by Sigourney Weaver, was the reason the originals worked (and why all the rest were bloody awful). Apart from her outstanding acting capability, it's the basic story of a motherly woman fighting and fending off a horrifying threat. It's what we all connect with and want subliminally: our mothers fighting to protect and keep us safe from monsters.
There were leaping face huggers in Aliens 2, when Ridley and Newt were attacked in the med bay. But the limits of robotics and practical fx at the time couldn’t quite pull it off. Am so hype for this literal improved “jump” scare!
Well, the trailer gave me that "i know what it is, i know how it works.. but either way its gonna be a burning hell and that still scares me" vibe.
An "Alien fan": I don't think I've seen a face hugger fly/jump like that!..."
Well, clearly not such a big fan, given he doesn't even remember Aliens, apparently. In that great film you can see a face hugger jump, trying to get to Ripley's face.
Also: I am not a huge fan, but played enough Aline-franchise PC games to see lots and lots of facehuggers jump all about the place. 😄

I’ve never understood the hate for Alien 3 either. I found it a truly engaging premise, that the most lethal living thing humans have ever encountered is loose on a planet with no weapons at all.
I actually thought it was pretty good - though William Gibsons rejected script would have been way better. Read the graphic novel.
@@lornarettig3215 Because it was depressing as hell and killed off everyone we had been rooting for in aliens. That aside its a good movie that could just as easily have been done as a spin off movie in the alien universe, just replace sigourney with another actress and leave those characters alone.
I look forward to Romulus, hoping it will continue to build the lore. I was saddened by how Covenant had abandoned Ridley Scott‘s original plan to explore the Engineers and the beginning of life. Scott stated that he had grown bored with the creature and therefore delved into the story of the derelict pilot everybody else had "missed". Prometheus then did half a billion at the box office and the sequel was greenlit. Internet complaints concerning the absence of said creature may have caused Scott to drop the Paradise Lost story and kill Shaw. Covenant made only half of what Prometheus did, with yet another alien outbreak.
Just my opinion but Covenant and Prometheus were absolutely worthy additions to the Alien narrative. Looking forward to seeing this one

We don't need "Coming back to the roots", this was already done in '79. What we need is prequel to original Nostromo Alien to close the loop.
They’ll never be able to capture the horror and suspense of the first two films. Romulus will be visually spectacular and gory, but there’s a finite number of ways you can tell the same story… a horrifying dragon hunting people on a spaceship.

All I know is seeing the original Alien for the first time at nine years old was one of the most thrilling movie experiences of my life. I knew nothing of the plot or what the xenomorph looked like or how it procreated. Everything was a big shock.
And then Aliens was something entirely different and exciting. It did not try to just re-create the first one, but went in a whole other direction. completely disagree with everyone on Prometheus and Covenant. Those movies were great in their own ways, the opening of covenant is brilliant, setting the plot for David and Prometheus was great for the engineer lore and giving us just enough to ask questions. The Aliens story needed those movies to give new life to the overall story. Fincher's Alien3 was not bad but felt unnecessary, and Alien resurrection was pure garbage. aliens is doing fine and my only worry with romulus is whether or not it tells a good story, the aliens and the facehuggers are not new.
Prometheus was ok but it went nowhere, Covenant was just a movie full of tropes , 0 suspense, lack luster creature design, 3 good characters, David became a straight up Bond villain

Copying Ripley's emergence from the elevator makes this film parody.

Amazing how in the 21st Century no-one can make a new film only re-hash classics from the 20th Century. The film industry is such a over hyped business today, empty and shallow with too much emphasis on CGI instead of making the special effects properly.
Maybe you should try it
Except for Godzilla.
They literally employed the same visual effects workers that worked on James Cameron’s Aliens for this film.
Its owner by disney now what you do expect? Also This film has very limited cgi
The director said the CGI is at a bare minimum in alien romulus. The vast majority is practical effects.
They got a lot of the people who worked on the originals to come in.
Like the guy who designed the alien queen. They brought in the original "puppeteers".
The xenomorph and face huggers are all practical, with men inside the xenomorphs.
Even the settings on the ships are real. It's not done in front of green screen.
He wanted the film to be as much like the OG's as possible.
He even said that he's not a fan of CGI.
Let's hope it isn't just a fake reboot just like what happened to Star Wars with The Force Awakens.
Anyway, I liked Prometheus and Covenant. Problem is Scott switched the cosmic horror with the AI treath. Perhaps the mysterious origins of the xenomorph infestation should have been left uncharted. But in the end, the Engineers mythology is pretty fascinating. Also, there's still room to explain the link between the Deacon and the Engineers, and why they worship it as a god. Is there something far more sinister on the void between the stars?
We need an Alien Isolation movie!
Please bring back 'engineer' sequences. Prometheus and alien: covenant were such underrated movies. Really hope romulus delivers and keeps it up.
i really want to know what happens next
