Incredible. Why can't these short films be shown in cinemas before the main feature, like a trailer? Puts big budget Hollywood to shame. Well done 👍👍👍👍
👆💯
Why can't these short films be shown in cinemas before the main feature?
Puts big budget Hollywood to shame. Hard to explain why someone needed to pay twenty bucks for a two hour formulaic blockbuster, when they enjoyed the five minute short more. (Besides, do people go to cinemas as much? More eyeballs here, likely.)
How does it put Hollywood to shame?
@@johnmartinez7440Because Hollywood movies are sh**ty?
I love this idea.
When you find Cthulhu's planet by mistake.
And I named it... Fluffy.
And then you piss off his mom by taking out her new brood with an orbital strike, woopsie! 🤣
When you are the monster
Don't poke the Old Ones.
@@bearcubdaycareFR😂
Not even big productions have such excellent special effects (King Kong/Godzilla, The Flash, and others), this team of filmmakers achieved an impeccable short film.
The big studios need to hire these geniuses.
Congratulations guys.
🤟
maybe the flash but you know nothing about VFX
When's the last time you saw a big production make a 4 minute episode?
Studios have deadlines they have to have things done by a specific time. RUclipsrs don't they make content on their own time. It's not like that in the real world. No disrespect to the artist they did a great job, and perhaps they do have the skills to work in a major studio. But again they probably took a lot longer on this than a studio would have. For a 4 minute scene like this would it would cost a hefty sum and the longer it takes to do the longer it costs.
so right, I saw new trailer for the King Kong movie and They got Godzilla running! like a bloody human along w Kong and the CGI looks awful. God
The key moment in a movie without the baggage of a movie.
Haha baggage! That’s funny.
Finally! This is the way science fiction should look.
A 4min 37sec video that’s better than all of the last 3 Star Wars movies combined.
"Dead but dreaming" Nice Cthulhu reference
wow, I totally missed that. thanks!
"Director Quote: Ice is the story of mankind traveling to other worlds and sharing the richness of our culture with them." Classic.
Hahaha! War, pestilence, pollution…
So, the director is a dumbass, got it.
@@littlebirdie2 Don't forget greed...
well that was seriously impressive. Like a hybrid between a better (much better) Prometheus in the first half and a "Love-Death-Robots" episode in the 2nd half. Massive congratulations to the (small!) team making such an expensive looking movie. Straight onto episode 2 for me.
Fantastic production quality and intriguing story! Great job everyone, looking forward to seeing more.
I was smiling the entire film. This is every sci-fi I want to see wrapped into 4 minutes of pure cinema
just got off an ice planet in Helldivers and this is what I see? Sick!
That's the closest thing we can see to an orbital strike
@@saymyname6726 that is just Orbital Gatling Barrage
Sorry this video made you ill. I hope you feel better.
Rule #1: Always be nice to the indigenous lifeforms whenever visiting a new planet.
this one deserves to be a whole movie !!!!!!!!!!
Definitely
wait this is not movie ??? i was googling it lol didnt find it
They all do. Multi-genre gems.
"sharing the richness of our culture with them" yeah, we're fucked. But there is still hope, this series proves it. Thank you.
BlackMilk Studio x Oats Studios = SCI-FI PERFECTION! I
I hope you get picked up by one of the streamers to do a Sci-Fi show. I miss The Expanse ... a void needs to be filled!
Me too expanse was amazing
great work - design is solid and who doesn't want Cuthulu!
Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!👌👍 🤩
TARGET ERROR CHTHULU ABORT CODE
Stumbled on this and thank you to the RUclips machine for putting in my feed. Excellent use of 4 minutes to establish theme, intent and suspense. Can't wait for Episode 2!
LV 426 looking good, should be fine to start a colony, no worries at all.
I've watched the Law Zero and KORE concept trailers more times than I can count, this is more of that gritty realism I love. Thanks MACGREGOR!
Breathtaking visuals, brisk pacing and a simple, functional story. An ideal short film. 90%
I was waiting for this after he crushed the little crab. This is incredible!
When he stepped on that creature I knew it would be good, awesome effects so far
Outstanding work- reminds me of the the stuff Oats studios used to produce ( Neill Blomkamp needs to hurry up with District 10... ) + a bit of Love, Death & Robots. Space Geezer vs Cthulhu... :D
The two Oats projects that absolutely needed feature length films were Fireteam and the one about the lady trapped in that base with that mutating monster like The Thing.
Yes District 10
Omg district 10, where! WHERE IS IT !😮
Whatever happened to OATS?
@@AfroMan187 Bloody good question- they out out some awesome short films. I know Blomkamp has said he's working on District 10 so hopefully it won't be too much longer before we hear something official..
I LOVE this series. The stories, the acting, the settings, the emotions evoked, and the sound and cinematography capturing it all so beautifully and subtly. I was immediately transfixed and transported into time and place. I want MORE. Each of these vignettes can stand on their own as a full-length film, but somehow through Macgregor’s magic he as hypnotized and taken us on a thousand sun journeys in a matter of minutes. So well done! Again, I want much more.
Yes, you can tell a gripping story in under five minutes. Also kudos for the high level of technical skill demonstrated.
Stunning world building!
The interaction of weather particles with the ship and the illusion of size are incredible! I like the concept of the ship and its weapon, no slow movements like in the big budget films. Blackmilk Studio should be the next FX giant!
I'm sorry, but this is not a movie trailer????? is this graphics from the guys????
you have surpassed Hollywood! This is the best thing I've ever seen.
Shock.
YOU ARE REAL PROFESSIONALS.
Directing, meaning, sound, light, graphics, I can list up to 100 points.
Love it! Lee Wakefield as a genuine space holligan
Another excellent short that's better than 99.9% of the generic crap that's turned out.
Where is the story or short? This is a VFX reel and nothing more!
Great effects, great story! Much better than anything from Hollywood or Disney.
This TEAM brought their "A GAME", Bravo!
Magnificent! The suspense was unreal for the few minutes of action. So many "whys" were opened, establishing potential for multiple story-lines. The CGI put on their knees multi-million Hollywood productions. And there was even a lesson at the end - don't mess with Cthulhu's kids :D
Let me just say this... This has to be what Blizzard cinematics from the early 2000s felt like. Ahead of its time, appealing, awesome, and just purely entertaining.
Great designs for the ship and devices e.g., the scanner thing. Excellent cinematography! Its amazing how most of your graphics etc are much better than some big-budget productions. I reckon carry on and you'll do well! Cheers and Thanks! Thumbs up!
They say if you can get the audiences attention in the first five minutes then you’re going have them for the next two hours you did it in three minutes and boy has this thing got a future in Netflix or any decent streaming platform.. whoever’s behind this with the directing, the storyline, the production design is on their way as a future filmmaker monster congratulations 10 out of 10 this thing absolutely rocks 10/10 💪🏼🎥🎬✒️💪🏼💪🏼
Amazing work! Fantastic, can't wait to see more.
Very impressive stuff. I've never heard of Blackmilk before, but I'm a fan now. Hopefully you guys can get a deal with Netflix.
Netflix is woke bullshit
I'm all for some SCI FI Lovecraft inspired movies
❤❤
Reminds of Love, Death and Robots and Oat Studios.
THIS is what we want! Amazing!!
If you don’t make CG cinematics of this quality, then there’s no point in doing graphics at all)). You are a great role model!
subscription!
*Finally!!!... justice!!!... even if only in fiction.*
A 5 minutes episode that probably took 2 years to make. Good job.😀
Cgi is on the highest level🔥 most marvel and dc films with such hugh budgets juwt overuse those cringe effects etc. It starts looking very old and bad. This is true cinema
@@TomLee-lv8ql it has a story as well kind of. Its mysterious. Its not about the story in cinema
wow, just passing through and then I found this... just watched and I am all in! big cinema feel..
❤🎉🎉🎉
👀 When the Final Boss is too big to target by the mothership. 🤣🤣 Looking forward to episode 2. Well done.
BLACK MILK STUDIO AND OATS STUDIO SHOULD MERGE😂
Dear god this looks fantastic!! How did you achieve this level of visual? Seriously, this is better than almost everything in cinema today. What I especially liked was the snow/ice sticking to the suit. I know it's just a small thing but in many movies or series when they use artifical snow they miss these details. Again, excellent work and thank you for sharing this.
This and the Antimemetics series that just dropped have me so excited about the state of RUclips rn
Such great talent !!
And Cthulhu took it personally.
BTW - absolutely fantastic effects and production value. Agree with other commenters that this puts Hollywood to shame.
Great job everyone!
I'm super impressed by the production, doesn't remotely look like a "budget" film! I could see something like this as a nice bumper on the SciFi channel between shows.
Also makes a nice resume for your team to get funding for something bigger, good fortune!
Robert A. Heinlein made comment about this type of thing in his novel Starship Troopers. Everything in the universe is trying to survive and some species tried to expand (us earthlings). It takes only one mistake, and the conqueror will turn on its heels and begin living only to survive. Awesome video!
Wow, brilliant.
When he stepped on that first creature, I really thought it was going to be like that hammerpede in Prometheus and break his foot, phew, my heartrate did go up a bit though!
OK! That was a rather fabulous presentation!! If this were a full length move, I'd pay to watch it. Great acting and storyline. The special effects were actually spot-on awesome! I look forward to more of your work! I am subscribing to your channel!
Great job! It’s funny how humans story things without realizing that there were consequences for their actions!
The best Science Fiction Horror Movìe since Alien
This is next Level, hope this short finds the way to Imax
Really looking forward to the next episode. 👍
Hands down the best thing I’ve ever seen on YT. I can’t wait for a feature length film.
4 or 5 minutes what a tease! I want 90 or 120 minutes of this! This is like one bite of steak when your mind is telling you: that you want the whole steak! Feed me!
I'm about to watch every single episode. This is some solid indie sci-fi.
Leaves Disney in the dust. Great work.👍
Literally... in the last episode. Mickey Mouse indeed.... Humans!
Не фига себе короткометражка, да это по сути целый фильм со смыслом. Карма не избежна. 👍
Yeap this is defo Ruairi’s. Wonderful work. Always enjoy seeing your films man. Hope to see much more here. This is great to see, a channel like this. A behind the scenes would be fascinating no doubt.
This is just incredible, I won't be able to express how much I love it, so happy that I've just started and have a lot more to see. I'm really curious about this universe's story ! Amazing visuals too, my eyes are blessed ! Thanks
Incredible work! The visual effects and cinematography completely blew me away along with a pretty interesting story. Though I do feel like it's kinda weird that he just stood there when the very angry squid guy was about to kill him.
"Dead like God forgot he ever created it"
Rarely do I see some YT show that I want to be longer. It always seems like they stretch them too long to show off all of their work rather than serve the story. This though... omg show me more!
Bruuuuuh we need a full-length series of this.
thhis is fire!!!
looks better than 90% Netflix has to offer
awesome
Human hubris struck again, and struck out. Great story!
This looks fantastic... It sounds fantastic... It's definitely going places, I'm going to tell my kids I was there when it started... 😊😊
В конце эта зверюга должна была телепатировать на инопланетном - "Квадрат 28 - признаков жизни не обнаружено."
I would go to cinema to watch a movie. I would watch the tv series. I would play all the games. I loved it.
Love this... definitely need a much longer story on this team of explorers/encounters.
Love the fact that the little dude who got crushed was about to call his big brother.
Amazing effects!
Fairly formulaic, but that having said, not at all unsatisfying. I would 100% watch more. Well done!
wow, just stumbled upon you guys. This is this is the culmination of all the climaxes of all the genres mashed together. Epic!!! The buzz we all missed.
I hope Ruairi Robinson will be able to make his ambitious planned feature The Leviathan, and this shows he could easily make an Alien film or the Gears of War feature
Yup, this is super cool. As soon as he squished that ice bug, I new trouble was soon to come. Anyway, Salute!
This is the level of filmmaking i want to reach some day ❤ Great work! Huge inspiration for me 😊
Love the moment when he finds life and then instead of cursing the loss of a chance to terraform he casually nukes it from orbit. You just know this isn’t going to end well.
Very cool.
Excellent - much gratitude!!
we need longer version , this is a masterpiece. good job guys!
This is great better then what’s in theaters the last few years !!!!!!
Looks fantastic, sounds fantastic, was Superb. Great work that is better than most TV.
What an amazing piece of quality work.
Fantastic! The best special effects--bar none--I've ever seen! And an interesting character and plot line to boot! A+++
That was awesome was not expecting Ray Winston in a movie like this! 😍
Maybe he has bills to pay.
Can't wait for the rest of the episodes, this was great!
"Life will find a way!" :)
Thank you 😊 Google for recommending this awesome series to me.
never thought that Gregor will ever film something like this! im really impressed/ FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE!
Что такое Apex?
Loved it! Awesome production values, beautiful design. Great stuff.
Wow. Fantastic production values and effects.
Ok, I was ready to shit on yet another terribly amateurish RUclips sci fi crap... This is incredible. Far better than anything in Hollywood today. It feels like Outland with modern cutting VFX. Loved it!
Love it. The entire composition is fantastic. You reap what you sow. The bug killer, becomes the bug. 😂😂
This needs a GAZILLION more views!!!
Wow, world class cinematography, world building, vfx, etc. just wow, well done guys!
