One of the best songs I've ever heard.
When "little raindrops" starts is pure insanity.
Instead of "the raindrops," I've always heard "arrange us," which seems to make more sense with the title of the song.
It always made me think of going to Catholic mass when I was younger and how the priest would command us to sit or to stand at various times, to which all the people in the pews would obey, sitting or standing in unison.
To me, the song reads as a commentary on the tendency of people to blindly obey authority figures, even if they're being told to "walk into the jaws of hell." Not only do people obey authority blindly, but we seem to crave that kind of leadership, as if we're chanting "arrange us" over and over, hoping someone will come along and give us some direction and thereby lend meaning to our lives.
