My 4 month old puppy is getting quite frustrated with this video. She’s trying to sleep next to my chair and every time Ethan says “kennel” she gets up and goes to her crate. I’m starting to get the stink eye from her lol
First of all I would like to thank you for such great content and resources in dog training I have a 5 month gsp and if it has not been for extensive research on the breed and hours of watching your videos BEFORE purchasing him we would have been way over our head and would not have the amazing dog we have now. I do however have a question. Our dog is basically a family dog but with aspirations of using him on hunting trips (which are not very often) primarily for blood tracking so we have incorporated some hunting training in his routine. We live in a residential area and our neighbors have recently purchased chickens in their (4 ft wire) fenced in yard which directly faces our backyard. Is there any way to train the pup to ignore the chickens now before he figures out that he can jump or climb the fence, or before we need to start paying for replacement chickens 😳? Hi! I am confused. So many video says e collar it´s good once they know the commands but not for training. Some other show it´s great for training. Which is it? Hope you can help me. I have a rescued 3 or 4 yo Doberman. He´s so weet, never barks, or pulls the leash, but I´d love to teach him to go to bed, or stay for longer (he follows me EVERYWHERE). I have the sit done but only when he´s infront of me. Also love to recall etc.. What do you think?
Training is so much broader than just teaching simple commands. E-collars are great for training in the sense that they are used to reinforce and expand on already learned commands.
So i saw in one of your videos you used it for the dog to come to you and this one for place (kennel) can we use vibrate for both or should we differentiate them ?
I have an 8 week old lab and I want to charge the clicker today. Since I can only feed him twice a day right now, is it ok to use praise as the treat sometimes? I plan to bring a kibble or two outside when he goes potty but some are telling me not to do treat training.
Personally, I try to limit three or four treats a day, but I split the treats in half. I also sometimes use praise instead of treats. It’s definitely good to do both in my opinion, as you don’t want the dog depending on treats every time you command the dog. But I’m no professional dog trainer, have raised two very smart and obedient dogs though. At the end of the day, you should do what you think is best for your dog, treat-wise.

My lab is 10 weeks old and he stays effortlessly.rubbish video,depending on collars ridiculous.get your dog to sit and point your finger at him and order him to stay,keep stepping back slowly,then call him over for a treat,each time you'll move further and further away.too many gimmicks being used these days,a stern voice works a lot better

How long, on average, does this skill take - to when you can rely on your dog remaining on the bed?
After e-collar conditioning they are solid!!

Is pen good or is kennel better
Whichever cue you use is fine, you just need to be consistent!
are you against using kennel for kennel and "Place" for the type of training in this video?
