      Andrew Luck has every right to retire on his time frame, he is an adult. That being said this is another case of the, "its all about me generation", and another committment broken. Just like guys that sign contracts and want it renegotiated two years ahead of schedule or sit out. Did he leave the Colts organization, the fans and the NFL high and dry? Yes.
      I have to say this. While I think he was a good quarterback in no way would i call him a great QB. Last night, ( I need a life), I watched a replay of the Colts @ Chiefs Divisional playoff game. I have to say for most of that game Andrew Luck looked lost, confused, throwing into traffic in places where his recievers could not make a play. It wasnt like the Chiefs had a stellar defense last year. I've also seen that before from him in big time games from him. I honestly think that Jacoby Brissett with the current team will post as many wins as Luck would have with the team.
      But what is most disheartening is another committment broken. Did he not know when he signed on the dotted line that football is a hazourdous sport? He is a very intelligent guy. How did he miss that part of the equation.

      Indy fans are hypocritical. Indianapolis needs to stand by their team, and support their QB. Andrew made the right decision, he wanted his health over his money.

      @Erick but without Brady do the Patriots beat Kansas City or the Rams in the Super Bowl? Be honest I know he wasn't the main reason but he still played a large part throwing for over 300 yards against the Chargers, converting three 3rd and 10s in a row during OT at Kansas City, and setting up the game sealing touchdown with a throw to Gronkowski in the fourth
      I give credit to the defense for that playoff run and honestly Stephon Gilmore should have gotten the Super Bowl MVP but let's be honest without Brady I'm not sure they stood a chance

    I met Rob Parker in my city Chicago and he was one of the most humble cats I've met that I've seen on TV. I'm realizing tv personalities are exactly what the name says; they have to take on a role for entertainment value. He's usually annoying but I can get used to his takes moving forward after seeing him outside the tube

    Barry sanders retired because his team sucked. He got tired of losing and the lions would not build a solid team. So he retired. Andrew luck flat out quit on his team. A very young and talented team.

    I only have one issue with Luck retiring, and that's the timing of it. 2 weeks before the regular season just throws major upheavals throighout the organization. This decision couldn't have been made a month ago? But i wish him the best in whatever he chooses to do after football. Godspeed Mr. Luck.

      Ryan This is pure speculation obviously. But I think he wasn’t planning on retiring a couple months ago. But something must have happened to his leg recently to make the injury worse or Luck got news that his injury is going to take a lot more to recover from than they believed a few months ago. I don’t think they know what’s wrong with his leg.

    The beautiful thing about football is there’s a larger pool of players that can play at a high level oppose to b ball, baseball or lets say hockey. Skating is a skill not any athlete can do. Not anyone can hit a baseball or throw 100mph. There’s not many 6’8” guys walking around with elite athleticism. One could argue college football as entertaining as pro game. Football will never go away. Too many capable guys. It took the NBA 5-8 or more years to recover from Jordan’s retirement.

    Big problem with cash cow that fans created and ticket and jersey prices continue to rise. Now this allow the players to create a substandard product ( similar to NBA stars sitting multiple games without injury), give half-hearted effort, .. basically, consumer product is getting worse at the same time becoming more expensive and these media guys are schills for them.

    • @danielmocsny5066
      @danielmocsny5066 5 лет назад

      Was football better back in the days when players barely got paid and had to work regular jobs in the offseason? Also, the owners make more money than the players. Is that reducing the owners' incentive to deliver a quality product?

    • @materialgurl9138
      @materialgurl9138 5 лет назад

      @@danielmocsny5066 Yes, it was. Why would you think employees should make more money than the owners? This is a consumer product period. Provide a competitive, compelling product and people will watch. Did you not see what hockey went through the past 20 years. The league was dead and playing games on the NBCs Outdoor Channel (something like that) and now improving their product thus viewership rising. Kills me to see consumers (aka fans) side with players. What do you get from Aaron Rodgers making 10's of millions a year? Nothing. Apple phones are no longer innovative and skyrocketing in price. CONSUMERS finally had it so Apple sees biggest drop in phone sales in their history. Owners and players could care less about YOU. I don't want to know nor do I care how money is divided between millionaires and billionaires. I want a quality product for a fair price. Prices are going up while quality is going down, that's all that I'm saying.
