    I have both of these pistols. Actually, I have 4 of the popular 9mm single stacks, the G43, Performance Center Shield, PPS M2 and the XDs. Walther wins on ergonomics by far. Build quality? I'd say Walther and the XDs tie for the win, then the G43, with the Shield in last. The shield wins in the looks department. I love the lightning cuts and ported barrel. Even though the trigger pull on the Walther is a little heavy, it does have a very nice clean break. That said, if I'm going to carry a single stack 9mm (I carry a Sig P320c quite often), I carry my G43, mainly because I like having the lasermax guide rod in it. I might get a trigger mounted laser for the Walther one day so my CCW might change. I just like the clean looks of a pistol without crap sticking off of it. Plus, it's a smaller CC pistol without add-ons like that.

      you need to add to your list the Ruger LC9s pro, i think has superior trigger than the others on its category , however i am considering to get the pps m2 le. with $100 rebate is really tentative... i can be 310dls after rebate and tax not bad at all for a quality gun ..

      The PPS is as low as 259, even 249 plus delivery on some online retailers as of mid June, 2019! Wow. Theres and indication of how overpriced Glocks , really are while giving us plastic sights and guide rods and no innovation, whatsoever.

    I was recently shopping for a single stack. Shot them all and the Walther PPS M2 was the winner. In my test the Shield beat the G43 as well. Not only is the PPS great a close range I'm able to hit center mass at 25 yards. I've got close to 1500 rounds through the PPS ; not one failure. Extremely happy with the PPS.

    I love how Glock owners recommend updating the field goal, plastic sights first thing when purchasing. How about Glock stops being cheap and puts the industry standard 3 dot, steel sights on their firearms to begin with. Cheap and lazy if you ask me. Spending money to get the pistol up to par right off the bat. lame.

      Michael Glocks are great guns but way over priced with how they come from factory! IMO......

    • @flipgunderson1946
      @flipgunderson1946 4 года назад

      I guarantee that I own/have owned more Glocks than anyone commenting on this thread. I own/have owned 21 Glocks to date starting with Gen2's thru Gen5. I have/have had multiple copies of virtually all models in 9mm, 40, 45, & 10mm except the G40, G30, G40, & G35. Guess how many had stock plastic sights? All but 3. Guess how many broke? 0. Guess how many had steel guide rods? 0. Guess how many stock plastic guide rods broke? 0, even when shooting hot 10mm.
      You can say Glocks are overpriced but when you buy one you know you're getting a reliable & durable handgun. You're also getting solid customer service & quick repairs for the life of your Glock. One of the Gen4 G20's I bought new was a straight lemon out of the box. I called Glock and they sent me a prepaid shipping label. I mailed the G20 out on Monday & by that Friday I had a different brand new G20 with 3 new mags. They even let me keep the 3 mags that came with the 1st G20. On top of that, you're also getting a firearm that you can quickly re-sell & not lose a ton of money on if you decide you want to sell.
      I'm not saying Glocks are the only good guns on the market. There are guns that are just as good but majority of them do not have the track record that Glock does. They do not have quick & easy customer service and they don't sell on the used gun market as quickly unless you practically give them away. For example, I had a mint CZ P10-c I decided to sell. I priced it to sell fast & it sat on a Maine/NH private sale site for two months. I decided to trade it in at a local shop that does big business & it sat on their shelves for months.

    Great review! I own the PPS M2 and agree with everything you said. The trigger pull is amazing and shoots very well. Surprisingly even though my pinky goes over the end of the 6 round mag it is very comfortable to fire and I am actually more accurate vs the 7 round mag. The only negative I have is the sight did need some adjustment out of the box and unlike most Walthers, there is no key adjustment. I did not feel comfortable using a drift as customer support suggested so I purchased a sight adjustment tool on Amazon for $40. Easy to use and pulled it right in. Would highly recommend for anyone as a CC pistol!

    Thanks for posting this video and taking the time. I usually carry a G26 in my pocket most of the time (even if I have a G19 on my belt) and switch to the G43 when the type of clothes I wear require something slightly lighter and thinner. For me, the G43 is pretty specialized and my G26 and G19 are pretty much what I carry all the time. The G43 with the Taran Tactical +1 base plate is extremely helpful. It's too bad Glock didn't go that route from the onset. Same with the sights. I don't think Glocks are the definition of "Perfection" but they're pretty good tools for their intended purposes.
    I do believe that regardless of make or caliber, whatever works best and is something that you will carry is most important. If I could only have one?... I'd go with the President's Secret Service detail! :)))

    Good comparison. I bought my G43 prior to the release of the PPS M2. While I still like the G43, I would have STRONGLY considered the PPS M2 if it were available at the time. My biggest issue with all Glocks are the cheapo stock plastic sights. Replacing the sights is an (almost) necessary add-on expense when purchasing one. Having said that, the Pearce plus 1 magazine extensions are relatively cheap, and function perfectly with the stock G43 magazine spring. They're only marginally bigger than the stock G43 magazine with the pinky extension included. They're also very concealable. I have a total of 4 magazines, all with the Pearce plus one extensions. They also blend in perfectly with the Glock grip.

      @KSGunGuy01  7 лет назад

      That's awesome David! I know Pearce does a great job with their extensions. I used a few with the G26. Great point about the sights and I couldn't agree more. It's a necessary expense with any Glock as far as I am concerned. Thanks for the thoughts and comments brother! Cheers

    Both are surprisingly good good shooters especially for their size. I bought a PPS M1 or classic last year in factory tungsten gray. Yes, the M1 has a grittier trigger out of the box, but has smoothed out considerably with time. I also like the blocky odd look of the M1, but that's just me surely in the minority. I recently had the opportunity to purchase a very slightly used (only 10 rds fired) PPS M2 for $300. It has since replaced my XDs 3.3 9MM as my EDC. The Walther's superior sights (faster on-target acquisition for me), ergonomics, trigger, and weight (slightly lighter than the XDs) were the deciding factors in my swap. If the PPS M2 had been available when I was an LEO, it would have been my BUG instead of the SIG P230 I carried in that role.

    Carried the Shield for about 5 years. Always liked it and still own it. My wife carries an XDS 9 and I have put plenty of rounds through it, it's a nice shooter. Own a Glock 21 and 17. Like them both. Rented the 43 on many occasions. All said and done, what do you feel most comfortable with and what do you shoot the best? For me, Walther all day long. Great video.

    Not sure if you got an answer, and I don't want to go through the he comments. The PPS M2 does not have a part avalible to make the magazine release ambidextrous, or even left handed at all, at this time. That is why I went with the original version myself. All the same features, with the ambi mag release, and a bit nicer look in my opinion.

    My favorite to carry - Walther PPS. My favorite to shoot - Walther PPQ. I've spent time with Glock, Sig, Springfield and Walther, but ones I really like to use and find myself going to back to are always Walther. The rest seem like work. The Walthers always seem like fun. Does that make sense? Weird how it works out differently for different people, but I'm glad we have so many choices. Hey KS , myself and my wife went to our local outdoor Range today on Labor Day 2018 and we took my wife's Walther PPS M2 . We've never used the 6 round Flush Fit Mag , and the first time she used it it did not feed the last round and the Slide stayed locked Back ! And I went um ! So I loaded it again and two mags later it did it again ! Then I used it and it did it two more times All the same exact way , it would not Feed the last/6th round . But Absolutely No Issues with the 7 and 8 round mags as we have the LE Model . The Firearm runs Flawless and we went through 200 rounds today ! Just the 6 round Mag issue with the last round not feeding ! I looked up on You Tube and found a Gentlemen who had the same issue not Feeding the last round with the Flush fit 6 round Mag ! He contacted Walther , they sent him a New Mag , and they told him his old Mag was fine and was in spec , but they sent him a New Mag ! And It did the New Mag did the same thing as the one he sent in to Walther ! He placed a peace of electrical tape on the Follower and used a snap cap and it loaded fine ! Sounds crazy but it would feed every time with just a thin peace of tape under the round on top of the Follower ! It didn't recommend this as the tape wore out over time and it really isn't a proper fix ! I didn't know if you still Have yours and if yours came with the 6 round flush fit Mag as my Wife's ! And if you've ever had this issue , or if you have ever heard of this yourself KS ? I'm going to contact Walther tomorrow and to inform them of the issue and see what they'll say and or if they'll do anything to resolve the Issue ! So I just thought I would ask you if you have heard and or experienced the same issue ? Have a Blessed Labor Day KS . Thanks. Steven 👋

    • @KSGunGuy01
      @KSGunGuy01  5 лет назад

      Good morning Steven! That's a very unusual issue and the first I've heard of it. It's especially unusual since the other mags work fine. Although the tape seems to help, I agree.... it's not a proper fix and could fail. Hopefully Walther can get it sorted out as it sounds like the spring or follower are out of spec. Thank you and cheers!

      @@KSGunGuy01 the name of the RUclips channel was Alcan and if you type in under search also you'll see were he shows how the last round on the 6 round Mag Fails to feed . He uses snap caps and the slide stay locked back with the last round still in the Mag . This is what happened to myself and my wife at the Range yesterday a total of 4 times . Weird ! But the 7 and 8 round mags worked just fine ! Gonna contact Walther either today or tomorrow and let them what transpired! Thanks KS for getting back too me . That Mag isn't to reassuring for my wife to carry . She loves the firearm , just the issue with that 6 round Mag. 👋 see u on the Chat this week if your gonna be there and have a Blessed day KS and stay safe 👍👍

      @@KSGunGuy01 Hey KS , I just got off the Phone with Walther about the PPS M2 6 Round mag issue , and they tried telling me , they have now heard of these happening with several of the 6 round Mags not feeding the Last round ! They Claim it's due to people not having a Good Grip and or after lots of shooting having muscle Fatigue and due to heavy recoil, that only on the Flush fit mag may not Feed the Sixth Round !!!! They said after lots of practice and time it should get better !!!! And that they recommend that we should just use the seven and eight round extended Mags and that's what they recommend !!! And they told me there's "Nothing" they can do to Fix it !!! What ? I have never had a grip issue after years of shooting , and or an issue shooting any handgun were my pinky hangs off , and my wife has never had an issue either ! Never had any problems with a Shield , Glock , Ruger in regards to pinky hanging off and or not having a Good strong Grip / Purchase on a sub compact handgun ! Sounds like there's an issue considering they told me I should just use and carry the 7 and 8 round mag and not the 6 round Mag !!!! Then why sell a LE Edition with three mags if only Two of them will work properly ? And what good is a 6 round mag if only 5 rounds will fire ? I was surprised that's what the Man with Walther in there Parts and Repair Department told me !!! The Firearm is Awsome , and my Wife Absolutely loves it for Carry as do I , but this is disappointing that this is what they told me and how there addressing this now Known Problem !!!! Sounds like they need to fix the Mag issue , and not to tell people there's nothing we can do !!! I know most people will likely carry and do Carry the 7 and 8 round Mag , but the 6 round Mag should work or they can change it too a 5 round Mag , but then again , maybe only 4 rounds would fire and the 5th wouldn't Feed ! So weird , same Mag Manufacturer and the other mags all feed the last round just fine , but not the 6 round not so much !!! Sorry for the Rant but not Too happy about with what they Had too say ! So be it if there's an issue that needs to be addressed , but to say we know there's an issue and there's nothing we can do to Fix / resolve the problem , but instead , they say , practice and get a better Grip , and too Carry and use the 7 and 8 round Mag instead of the 6. Hey walther , I've got a suggestion , how about not Sell the PPS M2 with a 6 round Mag if it only feeds 5 rounds or Fix the problem !!!!!! At least offer or send me another seven round Mag So I can have three functioning mags that work since we payed for a LE model ! Or Maybe a Free / Complimentary Trucker Hat 😂 Take care KS and to the Gun Nation . Carry on , just not with a Walther PPS M2 6 Round Mag !!! 👎

    I had a Shield 2.0 and loved it. My sister got her concealed permit and needed a good reliable firearm she would carry and after I saw how well she handled it at the range I sold it to her for a steal to include three different holsters that were not cheap. I turned around and got the Walther PPS M2 and after I broke it in I have to say it's a AWESOME firearm that I love to both carry and shoot. I won't part with it. The only thing I suggest to anyone that buys one is to put over 300 rounds through it before you even rate it. This thing is solid and shooting it only butters it up and makes it smoother and believe it or not closes the groups you will shoot.

    The pps m2 is actually the first pistol I picked up after I got back into firearms. I bought what I believe was the second pps m2 to arrive at cfss. It was a brand new platform and I walked into the store set on buying an m&p shield, cfss staff sold me on the pps, citing a superior trigger. I loved that pps, until I started getting into double stack compacts. I now have a shield(apex upgraded), wife got an xds, and a 938. If I MUST go single stack I will usually grab the 938. Over 5-7 yards I cannot command that pps with confidence. I have taken it back out a few times thinking, that after a significant amount of training under my belt, that I could connect with the pps, but I just can't seem to make it any better than a "bad breath" gun. 🙁
    Now that 938 @ 15 yards...... surprisingly good!

    Enjoyed your review. Own a Walther (S&W) PPK/S 380 and a SIG P232 380, but looking for something that might be better for a CCW. Been looking at the Walther and the Glock. Been hearing about Glocks for years. Glock, this, Glock that, Glock, Glock, Glock. I find the Glock looks a bit too utilitarian, personally. The PPS M2 seems to be well liked, and since it's actually currently available, looks like I'll be adding it to my arsenal.

    I think the Glock needs some type of grip "enhancement" to shoot it well. I have tried the Ghost connector= had some malfunctions....back to OEM (mine is NOT 5lb...feels 7-8. Extended mags, with OEM spring and new larger springs have both caused malfunctions.... SO, mine is back all stock. BTW the finish on my austrian G is horrible (rusts). The Walther feels nicer, shoots better BUT when you do rapid magazine changes= your hand will probably get bitten...

    • @KSGunGuy01
      @KSGunGuy01  7 лет назад

      Thank you for the comments! That's frustrating that you've had issues with aftermarket parts and the finish! It's the drawback to enhancing a firearm I guess. I haven't noticed the bite from mag changes but I can see that happening in certain situations. Cheers!

About the only advantage the 43 has is all of the after market options that the pps doesn't have. But I'd say the PPSm2 is the overall winner too.

    Never had an opportunity to shoot the PPS, but I used to own a 43 and a Shield. I liked them both, but decided to move away from single stack for carry. I wouldn't, however, pass up a chance to shoot a PPS in the future though as it looks like a worthy option in that single stack category.

      Thanks Erazimoth! I highly recommend giving one a go, especially if you like PPQs and such. Cheers!

      I have the PPS M2. I've run quite a bit of 115gr and 124gr ammo through it and it shoots a good bit softer than it should for it's size because of the extra few ounces. I'll definitely be keeping my Walther!

      @KSGunGuy01  7 лет назад +1

      That's awesome! I agree, it's deceptively soft shooting for its size. Cheers!

    This Walther is so underrated. Put up a single stack 9mm lineup and invite some people who are new to pistols and I bet most would pick this. I carry this over my shield, but usually carry my p365 because more ammo is better and it's smaller.

    Had a Shield which had multiple issues. Sent that back to S&W within first week, and 8 weeks later they sent it back with nothing fixed. Walther PPS M2 is my EDC and never looked back. Thing is awesome!

    Aside from the fact i don't carrying single stack firearms anymore, i'd go with the PPS. My buddy has the 43 and it's a good gun, but the PPS has better options all around(as pointed out in the video).That being said, I have my G26 in my carry rotation ...why would i need either of these two? ;) Good stuff KS!

    • @KSGunGuy01
      @KSGunGuy01  7 лет назад

      Thanks CWB! The 26 is an awesome option. It was one of my favorites for years. Nothing like running the 26 with the 33 round mag at the range! Agreed though, the PPS is pretty great too. Cheers and hopefully see you Wednesday brother!

    I am a Walther fan as well but have many other pistols including my baby "Sig 226" but I tend to shot the Walther much better.
    I carry the PPS every day and it has never jammed on me.
    There is a level of comfort that this pistol brings me and will keep on carrying this gun.
    The low capacity magazine doesn't really bother me because you really only need 1 and you have to ask yourself, are you really Jack Bauer?
    You video was spot on and appreciated your opinion about the PPS.

      Thank you very much Robert! That 226 sounds very cool. I agree about the PPS giving a certain level of comfort. Cheers!

    Just picked up the PPS today, it was between the PPS, Glock 43 and the XDS. i went with the PPS mod 2 LE because of the ergonomics the extra mag and the night sights. all 3 are great guns though. for EDC. can't wait to ta put my first 100 through it.

    If you had a apex trigger on shield would you like it better than both these

      To be honest I like the Shield 2.0 better than both of those even with a stock trigger. Thank you and cheers!

    Obviously the G43. They are so good I own two. That isn't really the reason why but they are good guns. The real reason is I couldn't find one in FDE and after a year of owning a plain old black one I found an FDE and immediately bought it lol.

    I started my single stack journey with a G43. Long story short I came to the same conclusion as you. Love my PPS M2. Only thing that would do better is the P225-A1.

      That's awesome Bamboo! Although the G43 is a great gun, there is something really fantastic about the PPS. Thank you and cheers!
