Good lesson on why building knowledge of a water can be so important, especially one that looks so bleak. Cracking stamp of fish, thanks for sharing as always.

Great video Douglas some super fish. That float tube sure looks like a relaxing way to fish.

Cheers and Thanks for commenting mate. The float tube can be relaxing and sure is a nice way to fish, it does have its drawbacks and can be challenging in strong winds though.

One huge advantage of the tube is getting to fish the windward shore with the wind at your back, I've learnt that recently! As you say, amazing how often the better fish are only a few feet out. LT isn't far from me, mibbe an hour up the road, I'll need to give it a go. I've switched to an intermediate line as well Douglas, and I'm getting more fish as a result, especially when the wind drops.
    All the best, Greg.

Thanks for commenting Greg, the intermediate line is a good call I think. It can be tough when it’s calm, especially if there’s nothing rising to target.

Lovely video as always. You've certainly put the work in to figure out where and how to catch those fish. Nice to see them going back strong. Tightlines.

Good advice re fishing/casting close to the shore on these high altitude larger waters. My theory is that a lot of their diet is made up of terrestial bugs and insects so the food supply is better close in. You had a great day out Douglas, thanks again for sharing it with us 👍

Great video Sir, I have not gone through your back Library of videos as I joined your channel just this week watching a Makeral fishing video so knowing you are also a Fly Fisherman warms my heart, My local Lochs and Rivers I fish are Lock Frandy, River Devon and Glenquay reservoir here in the Stirling/Clackmannanshire area we also have the famous Swanswater fishery which I have been to many times but that place is like shooting fish in a barrel and too easy for most Fly Fisherman. Tight lines, my friend 🎣🐟

Many thanks Michael, yes jack of all trades me😎 Fly fishing is something I’ve fleeted in and out of all my life and never really been that good at it. Over the last year or so I have rediscovered fly fishing at least that’s how it feels and now can’t get enough of it.

Enjoy your vids BUT disappointed that you do NOT wet your hands when handling catch and release fish. Ask any marine biologist.

Hello buddy, yes absolutely know that and I was disappointed myself when I was editing the video, I usually have my net with me which buys me a bit more time and I can concentrate on handling the fish. Note to self don’t forget my net. Thanks for watching and commenting👍
