  • Short fishroom update of the new fish I've brought in over the last month. Some of these fish are incredibly rare or hard to find. One is even brand new rainbowfish to the US hobby thanks to Jeffry Christian and Mike Drawdy of Imperial Tropicals.
    New Fish:
    Melanotaenia Goldiei 'Dekai'
    Chilatherina Pricei - Yapen Island
    Panda Loach (Yaoshania pachychilus)
    Rainbow Shiners (Notropis chrosomus)
    Threadfin / Featherfin Rainbows (Iriatherina werneri)
    Reticulated Hillstream Loach (Sewellia lineolata)

      @@HoonAquatics Thank you very much, I subscribed to your channel and I follow many other friends who deal with aquariums and reproductions of fish. I have been breeding Cichlids for a lifetime, they are often in their natural environments to study, research, and capture. I deal with marine biology, but my passion for many aquarium fish. I have worked in different tropical areas of America, Africa and Asia. In addition to cichlids, I breed and reproduce other fish such as Loricaridae, Guppy, Neocaridina and Caridina, and Moss and Mud Turtles. If you like browsing my channel you will find these topics, as well as collaborating with associations and clubs, and writing articles and conferences on fish in their natural environments.

    Blue Smoke Rams - On a serious note, you'll want a big tank for the Goldiei Dekai, I have a bigger acrylic I plan on getting rid of if you want to chatter on it - you know how to get ahold of me.

      Brochis splendens are really easy. The corydoras Weitzmani lay a lot now but they're really hard to hatch, need really strong and really clean water but the fry grow quickly and strongly. They all lay on the aquarium glass usually after a cool water change. None of my other Corys have laid though.

    What is it with Rainbows and "white mouth"? Some fish seem to have it for life. Is it wrong food? lack of live food?..others it comes and goes to never return as the fish settle in. But some seem have it perpetual with no real problems...just white lipstick looking.

    • @HoonAquatics
      @HoonAquatics  3 года назад

      Its common for them to bump into things when excited or sparring. They're not the smartest aquarium fish
