To me this is a song that is about loving a broken person who is unable return that love.
my favorite part when james says “OHH WELL”, it generates me a peace I don't know why and at the same time nostalgia
It really does. You can feel how hard he tried to get the message through but they just aren't receiving it.
I always thought he should have put one at the end as well... It's an amazing touch
I watched A Perfect Circle live a few years ago. Yesterday I watched Tool perform live in Amsterdam. And in a few months I'll watch Puscifer perform. Can't get enough of good ol' Maynard, even though he called us a bunch of sleepy grandmas yesterday, lol.
“ lucky” , Napoleon dynamite voice
This is my favorite A Perfect Circle song. I've cried many times listening to this song. It's pure perfection, and will always have a special place in my heart.
Hear, hear.
Yeah
Glad it's not just me...🤙
You're not alone
yeah
Tool is music for the mind, A Perfect Circle is music for emotion, and Pusicfer is a blend of both.
The Violin in 3 Libras was played by the Bassist "Paz" from Judith
Paz Lenchantin played the strings on this song/album and a few others. She is amazing!
When she fixes her hair in the Judith video in between riffs.... man i went back to high school crush mode on that one.
She's admitted to playing on stage without her underwear and actually getting orgasims.
Paz is what I want from a woman
Perfect Circle - The Outsider!!!
Strangely, the TOOL song "Fear Inoculum" from the album of the same name, has some gorgeous clean vocals from him.
This album came out about the same time that I realized that the girl, i say girl because well i was very very young, i "loved" would never love me. It is amazing what time and healing will do for priorities, and then I got to experience it all again twenty years later ouch.
This song always takes me back to lonely times in high school and college. I love it so much, but it also makes me sad. The line "You don't see me" absolutely sums up how I felt for those years of my life when it came to love interests.
@@ijustneedmyself ditto
I loved this song, but it never truly clicked with me until years later when it DID. I was in a similar spot and the song gutted me.
The sadness and the beauty.... Brings my heart to tears. Just perfection.
youre so right
“jesus maynard” lol
this has been one of my favorite unrequited love songs for over 20 years.
your little quip after the track was perfect. thanks for the chuckle. i feel the same; just never expressed it that way before.
The original bassist Paz played violin, thus the influence on mer de noms
A Perfect Circle is a great band! The Thirteenth Step is my favorite record by them. 💙
I love how sensitive & emotional you are in videos, that's very vulnerable, which shows a lot of inner strength.
Maynard’s vocals are the best in apc ❤️
yes but the lyrics are all the same
@@soth1sol wat
The purity of Maynard's voice and the lyrics just make this song so sublime.
One thing people fail to mention is how many of their tracks are actually waltzes including this one. It's very interesting. I don't know how many people realize this.
Keenan shed some light on this song in their aMotion DVD, where he explained this is a song about parasitic-like people seeing something different or special about a person. Instead of nurturing that quality or helping that person grow, the "3 Libras" feed off of the energy in a bad way instead of using it for good.
On aMotion, Keenan also mentioned that he wrote the song for about 9 or so people in his life that have birthdays around the same time, hence the name "3 Libras." He titled it so the people with the Libran birthdays could battle it out to figure who he wrote the song about. Essentially, transforming the title into a prank on these friends.
This song is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs I have ever experienced and touches my soul each time I hear it even though I’ve heard it hundreds of times. Judith is also a good one to check out that really showcases Maynard’s vocals. It about his mother who was bound to a wheelchair after an illness…I won’t say anymore to give it away. I’ll let you listen…
This song always hurts. It makes me think of how badly I wanted my parents to love me...
Makes me think of how no girls like me (sorry cringe)
Right there with ya!
One of my favorites from them.. not to many people I see doing this song on their channels
Beautiful song
You are in for a treat and I can’t wait to see it! Hope you put The Noose on the list 😇
I love The Noose. Just a beautiful song. Maynard’s non-screaming voice at his absolute best.
Yesss! Came here to suggest the same thing. 🥰
YES! the Noose!
@@orbislame I think his "screaming" vocals are just as good
Pet is a banger also
When he moves his voice around that is called a flourish. Please check out Rose! Mer De Noms is their best album in my opinion.
melisma, my dear, is the word you're looking for
@@nicolegibson1491 🎶🧠
So tragic, to be so deeply in love with someone in a relationship and they cast you aside as if you're nothing to them. 3 Libras, or 3lbs, is approximately the weight of the human brain. Whoever Maynard was singing about, he couldn't get them off his mind.
Dude I love how Maynard names songs that you think have nothing to do with it but looking deeper they do. Like his lyrics fuck didn’t know that and I’m Hispanic lmao Libras! Idk how that passed over my head
He said it was about 3 women who were libras
>> in their aMotion DVD, he explained this is a song about parasitic-like people seeing something different or special about a person. Instead of nurturing that quality or helping that person grow, the "3 Libras" feed off of the energy in a bad way instead of using it for good.
It sounds like you don't have it nailed down with the "so deeply in love" 3lbs gooshy stuff.
@@Trepanation21 The beauty about art is that it is subjective. I will happily go on enjoying this song for what it means to me, even if it is just "gooshy stuff".
Great job! You set him straight!
I am these lyrics : "Eyes of a fallen angel, eyes of a tragedy"
PS do "Dissilutioned" next , original video reaction. You are going to love it
I freaking love this song! Lets go! 🤘
Got to listen to these songs from them.
The noose
The outsider
Passive
Start with those, trust me you will like them.
I LOVE your reactions so much. I can tell you're not only listening, but feeling the music. Its very attractive.
You're gonna absolutely love this.
one of the most beautiful songs ever written
Maynard also owns a winery. He opened it as another avenue to explore art. In line of this quote from him “The idea is, if I can't heal from my art, then how can you heal?”. He named the winery Caduceus Cellars.
He has special bottles that are produced under the Judith name and has also opened up a smaller side project (Merkin Vineyard) and a experimentation winery for his wines. I joined early on just to get the free Autographed poster from Maynard. However, his wines were actually really good so I have stayed a member ever since.
During the pandemic in one of the club shipments Maynard sent pencils and urged club members to take this time to create and not feel down.
Each shipment comes with a description of the bottles that are almost like poetry at times.
He has many expressions even outside of music that are great.
I do not know if you like wine but if you ever wanted to try one of his wines while listening to his songs I would be happy to help procure one and set that up! I enjoy drinking his wine and just watching tool rock out!
Thanks again for your empathy. You are doing great work.
Love this song. Maynard's voice and lyrics with this instrumental is just beautiful
What a perfect song for you to watch on my birthday. ❤
YUSS! One my fav APC tracks! How good LFG
Damn I should have said the live version oh well am happy your reacting to it😀
Love that song … he’s so freaking talented
My favorite tracks from Mer De Noms are "MAGDALENA", "THOMAS" and "SLEEPING BEAUTY"!!! All three songs are hard, haunting AND sexy, which is tough to pull off, imo. You'll love 'em!! I had the pleasure of seeing A.P.C. play Mer De Noms in it's entirety several years ago, and they absolutely crushed it. 😍❤🔥
Orestes is a beautifully haunting
This is such a beautifully haunting song that gives you chills. Maynard James Keenan is a man of MANY talents. If you haven’t done The Hollow, Judith, or My Magdalena they’re great as well. Also check out his band Puscifier and the song The Mission with Milla Jovavich
Can't wait! You're the best Aileen! ✨
The whole Mer De Noms album is one of my all time favorites. Need to check out the whole album! Maynard has 3 bands and none of them sound anything alike, pure genius
This may be the greatest longing song ever created. This still puts a spell on me even after all these years. I see it in your face too. Glad to see others resonate so deeply as well.
it reminds me of her. who ever she is….back to a love sick boy
You have this Tool for making me cry. Ever since my bestfriend/wife pregnant with my child. I will cry along with you.
Such a beautiful song
Love this song, so happy you reacted to this! Tragic story of all of us having a soulmate but often don’t connect or they don’t see us. Beautiful reaction as always, can’t wait for more Tool soon!
This is one of my all-time favorite songs.
When a song paints a picture and brings emotion you know its something special.
In the DVD aMotion, Maynard explains the meaning of the song
Undoubtebly my favourite song on this album, and this album is perhaps one of the greatest albume ever made. Love this.
Agreed!
Thank you for these Perfect Circle reacts. I absolutely love this band. You should also check out The Noose and Outsider. They also did a great cover of John Lennon's Imagine.
I feel this song deeply. Been on my playlist since it came out and still sends chills to my core.
“If this song sounds bitter, it is, and I am…”
‘3 libras could be about 3 specific women in his past, but he refers to the 6 libras in the band while touring
"Jesus Maynard" ...that is the correct response..also quite ironic/funny
Orestes and by and down live at red rocks are a must!!
This was one of the first songs I learned on acoustic guitar. It's sooo very beautiful! It has a great music video too
Hey, Aileen I love your reactions 🥰 and I thought why not offer you a video. I am French and I have a small French group to make you discover that I love it and at the same time make it discover to others the group is called öOoOoOoOoOo yes they are a little crazy but it reads caterpillar and the video is "I Hope You Sleep Well/Well-Oiled Machine (live shot @ Black Bear Studio)
A perfect Cirlce is Real Music All of it period they sit real high on all time favorite
What I would give to go back and hear this for the first time again!!!!
I just recently subscribed to your channel and I have to say you do a really good job explaining what these songs mean to you which is a much needed departure from all the vocal analyst reacts. Since its raining I think it will be a good time to check out your library, keep up the great work 👍
If you combine this with Devin Townsend's Deadhead, you get the "notice me senpai" beauty of 3 Libras to see the thing you love fall, and then in Deadhead, the thing you love so much is the thing that kills you, tearing you asunder, but because you love it, you let it.
APC for life!
Yes! I love this song so much. Surprised more people don't react to it honestly. I heard this on the radio all the time when I was kid.
Such an emotional song to sing
Wow watching you react to a song that I’ve had such strong feelings for, for years, & seeing those very same feels wash over you was absolutely beautiful & I completely thank you for every second of that video💯👍👍✅
Another beautiful reaction to a sad and also beautiful song.
The Mer de Noms album is amazing. listen to them all but I suggest Sleeping Beauty
agreed, that is a beautiful song too!
Yeah, everyone can relate to this song in some way. It's beautiful enough that I wish it was longer, but this song is probably the exact length it should be.
1 of the greatest albums ever recorded. 👍🔥
One of the most BEAUTIFUL songs I have ever heard
This might be my favorite Perfect Circle song
This song is so beautiful and sad.
The music video is awesome as well.
You just got a new subscriber this is one of my favorite albums of all time. Really got me through some really rough times. Brena is my favorite song off this album.
Puscifer- The Humbling River
Humbling river remix on blood into wine soundtrack
From APC (guitars/backup vocalist) taking the lead vocal spot
Ashes Divide - "The Sword", "Denial Waits", "The Stone", "Too Late", etc...
...and if you want to hear me, I'm under " Room Spin Rally", and "Avian9" on here. Cheers.
Paz on the violin.
I remember this song back when it was played on the radio a lot. But man... I was not ready for the absolute gut-punch of emotion to hit me. It's amazing the difference 22 years can have on your perspective and interpretation of a song.
Has always been my favorite APC song 🤛🏼
This song is so well put together and presented with perfection!!
This is top 3 one of my favorite songs ever.
The range during the “you don’t see me” crescendo gives me the chilis since 2001 or whenever this came out.
You should check out Maynard's third band "Pucifer." They are very good as well.
Greatest APC song ever. HS 2000 memories.
When you said “Jesus Maynard“ at the end, it was exactly what I was thinking!
You are such a beautiful person! Thanks!
Great reaction to one of my favs. I've been watching your Maynard reactions and this one convinced me to sub. Your analysis of each song is amazing and your reactions are genuine and heartfelt. Keep up the great work.
Another great reaction vid. Maynard is special.
Some on Maynard's finest vocals here! APC was so much better when Paz and Josh were apart of the band.
Yes. and also yes.
Indeed.
When you have a chance on your own watch the official video of this it's kind of cool to see it.
Then watch the live performance on Jay Leno or Conan I can't remember
Don’t forget his wine, pizza and whatever he makes cuz Maynard is gold
This has always been my favorite perfect circle
Great reaction as always love your smile I hope you are doing well and you having a great day with your family
Thank you for doing my favorite song of all time. This is the perfect song.
One of my favorite APC songs
Epic song
I hope the puscifer reaction is the humbling River... love your reactions!
😜😜
#1 favorite song in traffic. And I will scream it! That of beat one area is great and the hardest part to sing but the best part and there are 2 of thembin this song!
For some more of Maynards powerfully emotional vocals give Passenger from the Deftones a listen
LoL ... Passenger is about getting f*cked in a car ... not exactly the deepest most emotional work in his catalog
@@joshs8685 if your only seeing what’s on the surface absolutely but it may also have much deeper meaning as with much of his lyrical content
@@jamesstevens4795 It also could not lol
@@joshs8685 true
Im so excited for more of this ♥
I cried watching this with you, you earned a subscriber. Thank you for this.
