you can clearly tell the rest of the band is feeding off Eloy's energy.
I agree. He’s sooo clean and his time is perfect. Way better drummer than jay. I’m not hating on Jay, he did an excellent job but he lacked energy and if you listen to him closely and understand music, you can hear him getting sloppy at times.
"Forgets half of the members in slipknot are in their 50s now.
@shampoo6563 i agree. I think jay would be alot better of a drummer if he made his own music. Had his own creative drive. I think he could make some cool, unqiue innovative stuff.
@@taurusbull8276 what?
Corey doing a full on front flip on stage? Checks out 😂🥲
For those who don't know, Eloy joined Slipknot. For those who know, Slipknot joined Eloy.
The reality is that the world is gradually discovering how talented he is, incomparable. It will be even more impressive when he releases an album with Slipknot.
@@baiacudriverwtf are you talking about? people know him since he was about 10 years old lol

The best comment man 🤟
If you think abou it, it was same thing with joey, both amazing drummers
The fact that Slipknot needed Eloy to sound like Slipknot again is a testament to how good Joey was. I know people used to say he was overrated (because every single teen drummer incl myself said he was the best in the world lol) but he brought a raw energy that was very very hard to replace. Love to see it
A close friend of Eloy said in an interview that he plays drum for hours straight, 8 hours even on some days. They would invite him to go out and chill and stuff, but he would say no most of the time and would just keep rehearsing and training basically everyday. The dude is insane, drumming is his life and has been since he was a child. look it up
He is the perfect combination of talent, dedication and insanity
yes
Nobody gets that good without putting in WORK. The most ‘talented’ drummers are actually just the most dedicated
Joey was a motor of Slipknot. The drums are so fckn important for this band!
Ladies and Gentlemen - We have a new Motor!
Lets kick ass again!
Sepultura is better than Slipknot. I haven't heard a single SN song I like.
@@stubonesit’s ashamed he left them before their farewell tour. But he had nothing else to lose. Selputura’s time is unfortunately over. All of the original members are no longer with the band, and it’s clear that the members currently in the band are ready to move on. This was his perfect opportunity

Even Last year Craig Reynolds said he tried to but he gets the feeling eloy is not so comfortable in English. But I hope he will do more interviews.
Eloy just made Slipknot relevant again. I’ll have to admit, I was losing faith. Not anymore.
The METAL world is on FIRE!!!!!!! Everyone is talking about THIS move!!!! Even here in 3rd World SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦!!!!! Thanks ELOY!!! Thanks SLIPKNOT!!!! Let's NEVER FORGET JOEY, THOUGH....!!!!!!!!!!!

The way clown looks back at 9:18 before the fill into the bridge says it all. Eloy is elite.
Right on man

He's perfect for the band.
Maybe that's why there are 4 bass drums. Quick swap outs 😂

You witnessed a legend man! Tell us, did you get impressed? What were your impressions about Slipknot with Eloy's sound?
Man, Eloy is such a great drummer, but also, you just wanna root for him. He seems like a really passionate and great guy. To get him in Slipknot is gonna inspire the band to new heights. You just know they're gonna make the heaviest record in their career.
I think because Eloy plays in the right tempo the other musicians can make their things with no rush and feel more comfortable. Just look how Corey is even singing better. This and the crazy energy Eloy brings elevates the whole band
100%
Agree
Agree ❤
That’s the biggest difference I hear. Way more locked in on the tempo. That’s so necessary to their sound which is so complex that it quickly gets muddy if it’s too fast.
You know Corey is the tempo picker, right? In an interview, Jim Root said so. Corey chooses the tempo and the other drummers just follow the tempo
The venue was intentionally chosen to be a small show. They wanted something that feels like the shows they played when they were new.
yeah they nailed it. looks like a backyard venue. imagine being there so fucking crazy.
Which was a good idea imo! I like the energy. No need for them extra huge stages!
Having lived in Yucca Valley for 9 years, and. Pappy and Harriets being one of my regular bars, I can say this venue was an awesome choice! It is that down home, wild west, intimate venue that you can go to to knock off the rust and just be one with the crowd.
@Fleato definitely a cool place. I lived in yucca Valley for 28 years and wish I was there for this show.
What I'm impressed about is the fact that you did a video about Eloys talent two years ago. I watched it at the time and now he's the drummer of one of my favorite bands. Crazy
You nailed it, Estepario! Greetings from Brazil, you are more than welcome here!

In 2011, the band that Eloy was part of opened the metal night at Rock in Rio, where the main attraction was Slipknot and they were booed, today more than 10 years later the same Eloy is part of Slpiknot, how crazy...

Exactly, just like soccer any new br kid is the best of the world instantly lol
Don't forget MMA and BJJ!
foda-se futebol!
Exatamente, irmão. Esse é meu sentimento
The crazy part was and is that Eloy Casagrande playing slipknot songs by himself is enough to draw a crowd. Having him in the band is the biggest flex the band could have and going forward will benefit them the most.
The sceptic in me is already asking for how long? There are some examples where the age gap with younger drummers did not sustain very long. Avenged Sevenfold, In Flames...
@@DHPF I think out of all the members, Eloy has the best shot of staying with the ship till it sinks. Clown is confirmed to be the one pulling all the strings and he views Slipknot as a business entity. With that in mind Eloy is the single best investment the business has. I think he's staying. I think Jim is next on the chopping block, if Corey doesn't quit first. Assuming anyone has to leave.
@@DHPF in terms of aging I think one thing that differs Eloy from most drummers is that he lift weights specifically for improving his drumming. He has learned when he was young to maintain a good body condition to prevent injuries and to perform in such high level. I think guy is gonna live to his prime for a pretty good time.
@@rox665 It's not about his fitness. I have no doubt him being a mental and physical strong and consistent person.
My concern is about the different ages of the Slipknot members. A functioning band is also about getting along with each other in the long run. And as bonds seem to be tighter in (more) equally aged bands than in multi generational households, I assume further changes to come, e. g. maybe Casagrande not staying too long.
I think Eloy is much more technically proficient, but there was a sense of tension that joey would pour out in his writing. His style to me is what makes him a legend. That said, i dont think that slipknot could have found a better drummer to fill the seat. Much respect to Eloy and much hope for the future of slipknot. It seems Eloy's energy has added some years onto most of the bands energy levels.
Edit: much respect to el Estepario!!!
you collaborated with Serj? That's fucking amazing news. Goodjob
You're fuckin amazing you motherfuckin amazing person.
So fucking cool
I had the privilege to meet Eloy a few years ago.. and he is a very gentleman guy and a monster on the drums.. I saw he playing with Sepultura I think a sixteen times! 🤟🏼🇧🇷
Super pumped for the Serj colab. Props!
Imagine the impact Eloy will have on their next studio album! I am ready for the tour.
Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold are going through the same thing. Both lost huge HUGE drummers who were incredible at everything, then they both got drummers that respected the parts and just did that, and now, both bands have AMAZING drummers that bring so much energy and salsa to their bands. So happy for Eloy.
Couldn’t agree more. I hope Eloy brings the thunder when writing new material with slipknot as much as brooks has for A7X
Been listening to alot of Jimmy’s drums and dude was lightning fast
He’s bringing a bigger and better old style and groove energy to slipknot and really old school 90s sound and energy of the members
I would love to see Siberiano with Eloy in a video as friends. Today you and he are the best of contemporary times. If it wasn't him in the Slip it would have to be Siberiano
That venue is actually amazing. It's in the middle of the desert. No light pollution so the sky looks amazing. Very small stage obviously and extremely intimate setting. I'd rather see a show here than any place in LA or the surrounding areas

This EPIC FIRST SHOW deserve an offical DVD.
Man, such a nice video and reaction. I think the way you recognize Eloy's talent makes you even greater. Eloy has something different since he was a kid. Every time he steps on the stage, he gets transformed, shines and take everyone's attention. I had the privilege to share the stage with this man for 7 years and even more, the privilege of having a friendship with this guy like a brother … The most fantastic think about it, is that so many people have the same feeling we had about Eloy joining the band, even people who never met him before. I'm so glad for Eloy and for Slipknot too. They picked the best.

Vale Tudo was it for me back in the day before they changed it to MMA.
Man, here in Brazil we're very very proud about Eloy joining Slipknot. For us, it's almost like the national soccer team winning a World Cup.
I'm very anxious for the next Knotfest which is scheduled to happen in Sao Paulo in October.
Cara, esse Knotfest vai ser a consagração dos brasileiros junto do Eloy.
I can't wait to see them Live in Toronto later this year. Been watching Eloy on RUclips for a while, I was soo happy to se him join my favorite band.
I'm Brazilian, it's an immense pride to have a musician as great as Eloy, who is so evident in the current scenario, but I leave here my humble opinion that if it weren't for Eloy, the new drummer, the other one could only be you, Estepario Siberiano, if your work is incredible .
SOBERiano lmao
it's not because he is brazilian that he is good, it is for his individual dedication, don't take his merit as yours, as something to be proud of

Joey was incredible, and he brought his own sound to slipnkot. But I mean cmon dude… Eloy is on another level. Not human
Yup he plays this tighter live that Joey does on the album... just mental!
Eloy was just playing the drum parts that was actually Joey wrote.
@@kierbanaag No, there are a lot of details that Eloy touched on that are his signature.
@@cleversonbatista1312 maybe yes, but Joey was so precise and distinct to his parts, he know when to stop to give shine for his co members, he did not just hit any notes just to impress
So, you're saying you don't like what you just saw here?
Man… Brazilians… when they do shit, they go all out in a masterclass level! Like Senna, Perriera, Cassagrande etc… Let’s go!
Kiko Loureiro, Gracie BJJ, original Sepultura, Pelé, Oscar Schimdt, Gisele Bundchen
This band really needs no less than an inhuman drummer with robotic time. And now they have that.
Dude is hard to believe Eloy is not on a click, the tempo is extremely consistent
Watch some videos on his ytb channel and u'll see. So much practice to get to this level.
The one song I could tell is when they played People=Shit he slowed down slightly but overall the tempo was consistent
@TheGodsMustBeCrazy That's a tripy song... I can never tell if they (jay and joey) are speeding up and slowing down or if that's the way the song is meant to be haha
Okay, while I love Eloy and while I'm absolutely okay with tempo changes .. can we maybe NOT keep ourselves in the echo chamber and pile on to the same (false) crap? Like.... You didn't notice a very significant speed up from 7:30 versus where he goes into the snare buildup? I instantly caught it and then BPM tapped it before talkin shit here... And.... It's a lot more significant than I thought. An 7-bmp+ hike (assuming you're counting the beat as 100bpm, whereas this would be a 14+ bpm hike if you tapped it as 200)..... over a course of just 2 seconds. Could it have been intentional? Sure. Does it work with the song? Maybe. But let's not call a dude a metronome cause that would be a pretty busted-ass metronome. Anyway, love Eloy, love Slipknot. Here to check y'all ;)
@@sickliberty I noticed that too!
If you can find the clip of Duality song in that same show, MAN!!! He's so agressive, like you said: POOR CYMBALS!!!

Um monstro analisando outro
Eles merecem todos os sucessos
Completely agree with the last bit!
Eloy just set an example of what a great drummer is and sounds like, wherever may they be from.
Hopeful to see more latinos in the mainstream metal scene in the future.
Something else inspiring is watching one of the world's best drummers react to another of the world's best drummers and be excited for that other drummer is doing and achieving. Lots of musicians seem to get caught up like it's all a competition when we should be cheering each other on. Sure there's always going to be a small bit of healthy competition, but I want to be the musician that is happy for other's success. Hell, that's the type of person I want to be period. Not just with music, but all aspects of life. Hope this all makes sense.
With this drummer it's much better now. With the previous one there were often tempo changes during the songs.
You should do a review of the other transitions (Sepultura W/Grayson, Suicidal with slipknots ex drummer)
You and Eloy interview/drum seminar together!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Eloy fucking Casagrande im so hyped for this new era of Slipknot it's going to kick ass big time, hope they come to Argentina soon, so I can go experience that madness
I'm not shocked Eloy isn't shy to add stuff. The Man played for Sepultura. One of the top 5 founding father bands of Thrash metal. The history of Sepultura is like Brazils Metallica basically.
The pressure _most_ people who know their metal history would feel playing for Sepultura (I certainly would!) would be immense. Yet Eloy did a fucking stellar job with them. Slipknot, to me (I've loved them since I found them in 2000. I bought Iowa on cassette, on release day. Thats how much I love/long I've listened to them!) is more of a lateral move than up/down.
Slipknot have a long history, too. But Sepultura... Nah. Sepultura have been Melting faces since 1986.
Since Corey was 13 years old... And Eloy was good enough for them.
I bought the IOWA CD when it came out, don't remember that they were still selling cassettes at that time tho

you must listen to "Quadra", last Sepultura album, recorded with Eloy. Is just insane!
Eloy is a beast on the stage, but his work on studio and composing with the band is even more complex and grooved.
I think u'r on the same level of Eloy, u'r a beast my boooy
As he once said: "A fast reader can't be compared to a great writer" or something like that. It's more about the ability to come up with an out-of-the-ordinary drum parts. Now from what I heard Estepario did a great job with "the cost" songs, but maybe he doesn't see it that way.
@just_mikeyiguess he probably doesnt. When you're as good as el estepario. It becomes a perfectionist kind of thing. It wouldnt be suprising if he looked at himself very critically. Thats only way to improve and push beyond what is possible
I would be down for Slipknot re-recording the self titled for the quarter century anniversary with Eloy (this coming form a guy who’s been with them from that album and loves Joey)
That would be wild!
I was thinking the same. I am hoping too 😅
Same
I don’t know I think that’s stepping on the very foundation of slipknot Joey was the driving force for who they have become and I think even elloy wouldn’t want to take anything from that but moving forward he has a chance to make music as Joey would have so let’s just hope they make some bangers and use elloy to full potential I can feel the energy sitting here watching this so I’m super excited for what’s coming….slipknot feels like they are finally back in form they don’t seem like they are going through the motions anymore they are living them….thats what we needed….lets enjoy this ride….
