The flared open left foot was first proposed in my book The Reflex Convex Swing in 2020. Back then, almost every golfer followed Ben Hogan's prescription of a 22 degrees open left foot. I had suggested that the 22 degrees left foot was blocking the downswing momentum. I suggested that the left foot needs to be turned at least 45 degrees, preferably 60 degrees or more.
I have even proposed a new movement, namely the pivot fan-slide 'frictionless' movement. This will change radically the downswing and improve the efficiency of the golf swing in the process.
I have advocated that the three core principles of the convex swing will take the golf swing to the next level. Details are all in the book, The Reflex Convex Swing.

Learned to flare both feet 4yrs ago when I rebuilt my swing from scratch, changed how to grip the club which changed my alignment, that centered my stance and posture, and finally understood what Ben Hogan meant when he said the swing balanced him

Awesome tip. I tried this today and it worked. I still hit a few fat shots but after a did it for awhile I started to get more comfortable and hit the ball more consistently. I was having a real problem with posting my leg as I had a couple disks removed in my back and I have a problem with turning as you can imagine. So I am going to keep ar it and with any luck and lots od work maybe I can keep playing.
    Thanks so much, cheers

Lee Trevino was the ultimate devotee of the flared left foot. He was my childhood hero and I played my best golf of my life imitating him being a scratch golfer at 15. I quit golf for the next 25 years and took it up again at 40 and followed all the BS of the “modern swing”. What a mistake. I’ve never come close to approaching my game at age 15 but I sure can drive further. Further off course most often. This vid has convinced me to return to my roots.

I've.been playing an open left foot for years now, but I still can't always get hips to drive the downswing. The question no one addresses is how to get the hips involved in the downswing. I haven't seen a video yet explaining how to CONNECT hips, shoulders and arms and swing them in the proper sequence. The key to address is the CONNECTION of the 3 pieces.
