I've been doing this as well. The biggest thing i did too help my driver game was really strengthen my grip as I was pushing everything right. Broke 100 for the first time ever with a 97 yesterday.
I tried this out today. SO MUCH more consistent. Even my worst drive of the day was still maybe 10-15degrees off what I was aiming for and I was hitting consistently longer, straighter, and more confidently thru 9 holes (I had to go to work after that). Best driver day I've had all summer.
Not related to this video I also had by far best driver day this summer yesterday also coincidentally on 9 holes but... It was paired with two horrific performances with irons resulting in 8 and 9 strokes on par 5 and par 4 yikes.
I always advise golfers to try many tips to see which helps them. Everyone is different with talent on different levels! Your sponsors facility looks awesome! Thanks Andy!
Yes, Alex’s tips are phenomenal! I changed my address position and now I’ll find the middle of the driver on 90% of my drives. As long as you remember to use your body and relax your arms you’ll crush drives using this technique.
Fuzzy Zoeller used to address the ball with the clubhead even further inside the target line with not even the toe in line with the ball. He would adjust his swing plane during the downswing in order to make solid contact and he hit prodigious length drives. You can see film of that on Pro-Celebrity Golf with Peter Aliss. Billy Dunk from Australia, who was a beautiful iron player, did much the same but would then extend his arms and replace the clubhead directly behind the ball to initiate the back swing.
Alex Elliot is the best. Simple tips and minor adjustments to help correct minor flaws. If you need massive changes no you tube instructor is going to help without hands on instruction.
My tendency is heal hits. I had a golf fitter, and a PGA lesson both confirm I stand too close to ball. To combat that, especially with Driver, I've done this tip and it has worked great. My Drives are more consistently hitting center or slight toe, and with that better distance. Keep up the good work Andy!
Played yesterday using this method as I have an over the top swing and normally badly slice the driver and usually lose 4/5 balls per round. I can honestly say I've never driven the ball as accurately and my distance improved as well. Apart from 1 loose drive which I tried to hit too hard I only lost 1 ball. Need to work on balls off the fairway using woods/irons as catching the turf before the ball but will check out your other tips relating to this problem.
Tried out Alex’s Driver tips and produced very consistent results in the first round. Tee height makes good sense. Teeing up behind the ball in tandem with address on the Toe of the club worked very well.
Watched this on other channel whilst doing something else . . . . Got to the range (today) and remembered bits - tried it and found amazing results, then had to watch again so did so on this channel (such a good idea Andy). I will now subscribe to Alex Elliot Golf
George Knudson from Canada did the same thing and was an accomplished ball striker. Moe Norman lined the ball back 8 to 12 inches and off the heel of the club and is arguably the best ball striker ever. Try them both and see what happens. Good video. Good topic.
WOW I have been placing the ball towards the tip of my driver for sometime now and I usually hit the centre of the club. I thought it was something strange about my swing. Thank You for this information.
I have been doing this for a least 2 years now and I thought it was just because there was something wrong with my swing. It works well for me. Thanks for confirming I’m not making a mistake.
My golf gurus are Alex Elliott, Danny Maude, James Robinson and Chris Dennis and your good self. Distilled down from Alex's driver tips, I have the ball just inside my left foot, then set myself with the club fairly central. I then address the ball at the toe and use a one-two tempo. Combined with Batiste dry shampoo on the club face for feed back I'm consistently hitting the ball out of the middle of the face. These tip interpretation videos are great, seeing how you adapt them to your game, Cheers.
I’ve done this since watching this tip on Alex’s channel. I think this is centripetal force rather than centrifugal. The combo of centring the club head in my stance and putting the ball towards the toe of the club works for me. Who cares about semantics.
Kinda ... the higher the tee the more toward the toe you want to address the ball. The reason is that when the club is delivered to the ball, if you don't allow for this adjustment, you have to absorb that 1" or so and although it may not sound like a lot it's the reason for the panic hook. It's much better to reach slightly for the ball rather at impact than attempting to reduce the arc slightly. I made a video about this years ago. A good illustration is to tee the ball up about a foot off the ground, measure yourself to it then let your club fall and rest on the ground.
I think it's a good thing when RUclipsrs recognize other fellow RUclips channels. Especially over in Europe. Andy, Mark Crossfield, James Robinson, Simon at SAS, Rick Shiels, Chris Dennis, Gary Martin etc. It is really a quite impressive golfing community on RUclips.
Clay Ballard is also pretty good just more geared towards better than average golfers. Really ha e been enjoying these videos and YES Alex is one of my favorite tipsters
I literally do the opposite. Bring the ball to the heal to find the sweet spot. Line of sight through the ball, put the marker to where the line comes out the back.
Mr. Average golfer you are a class act! This is a great concept, demonstrating ytube instructors tips brilliant. And lets not forger Alex Elliot! I've known about setting the driver up towards the toe but moving head back something new. Going to t bhai e range to try this! Would this also apply to irons? Without moving head back at address just placing ball nearer to toe! Let you know how it works! T bhai anks Mate
I think this is compensation for most people who’s swing has slight outside in and hit the heel area most of the time. This will then compensate such swing fault.
This is interesting I always get told at address the toe of the club is inline with the ball and not the centre of the club face. That’s with all clubs. From my perspective though it looks in the centre.
What’s the drill to only try hitting it 150 yards? I subscribed to the channel you mentioned but having problems finding that video. Hitting the ball in play off the tee is my issue right now
It’s because you early extend and flip thru impact. It’s a comfort thing. For guys who squat and rotate with a stable face it would be the opposite of you
Intelligent Golf Performance Stewart Cartwright is in my opinion the best golf instruction channel on RUclips... His thoughts and teachings are on another level I've been following the channel for about 4 months and my Ball striking has gone from ok to really nice . Mark Crossfield has stopped clowning around now and is putting out some very good content .. Check them both out especially Stewart Cartwright .
The more you think about the driver swing, the more complex and bitty it becomes, to the point where you've got no idea wtf you're doing. In my experience, find a way to keep it simple, because everyone hits bad shots, has a 2 way miss, and will find trouble, but narrowing down those shots is key.
I was always told the sweet spot on the driver is not the Center but actually slightly higher and more towards the toe of the club. I will try this club head placement to see if this theory you are promoting results in miss hits for me.👍🇨🇦👨🦳
Moe Norman would place the clubhead a foot back at address. As many pro gofers such as Nicklaus, used to say, it's the first part of the takeaway that counts and Moe was removing some of the risk of going outside or inside.
I've been doing this as well. The biggest thing i did too help my driver game was really strengthen my grip as I was pushing everything right. Broke 100 for the first time ever with a 97 yesterday.
That’s great to read and congrats on the score 👏

Great to read and so glad it helped 👍
I will try this too

I agree, you may find some work and others simply don’t make sense to you
Great tip, and Alex is one of the better teachers when it comes to golf videos.
Yes I am a big fan
Tried this today.
Absolutely awesome results.
12/14 fairway’s and extra distance.
Now must make it consistent.🥂
Yes, Alex’s tips are phenomenal! I changed my address position and now I’ll find the middle of the driver on 90% of my drives. As long as you remember to use your body and relax your arms you’ll crush drives using this technique.
That’s great to read, hopefully we can find a few more useful tips

Loving the new Chanel Andy… smashing it.

WOW I have been placing the ball towards the tip of my driver for sometime now and I usually hit the centre of the club. I thought it was something strange about my swing. Thank You for this information.
Alex's tips I find are really good
Keep ‘em coming Andy!
Lots on the way!
I have been doing this for a least 2 years now and I thought it was just because there was something wrong with my swing. It works well for me. Thanks for confirming I’m not making a mistake.
Thx for this tip. Really worked well with the driver but surprisingly good off the turf as well....clubhead much closer to ball😊
Totally agree his tips are great
Thanks for watching 👍
Paul Wilson the effortless swing. He has a lot of great videos 👍
Hi Andy, I tried this at the range and on the course today. Magic results. Thanks!
So pleased to read this Tim! I have loads of good stuff coming that I genuinely feel can be a help 👍
Well, it is great that everyone is finally using the famous Moe Norman method of addressing the ball. It was around over 40 years ago.
Cant wait to try this out , thanks Andy and Alex !
My golf gurus are Alex Elliott, Danny Maude, James Robinson and Chris Dennis and your good self.

Don't forget Steve Johnston PGA, the Scotsman. His videos are always amusing and informative.
I’ve done this since watching this tip on Alex’s channel. I think this is centripetal force rather than centrifugal. The combo of centring the club head in my stance and putting the ball towards the toe of the club works for me. Who cares about semantics.
Thanks a million, you have explained it better. No disrespect to Alex. You have finally nailed the coffin
Nice chat about and demonstration-what’s crazy to me is that I am going to be visiting Portugal during mid-July. ❤️⛳️🇺🇸
Enjoy Portugal 🇵🇹
I setup at the bar with my ball already in the hole.

Well some yes others you list are a waste of time
Absolutely, keep it sociable and help each other
I think Jon Rham does this also. Thanks Andy, will try this at the range before I go the the golf course.
Yes we have another video coming soon with the exact Rahm set up 👍
Saw this video last night, went out this morning and shot an 88. I've had a hard time getting below 100. WoW what a tip!
Clay Ballard is also pretty good just more geared towards better than average golfers. Really ha e been enjoying these videos and YES Alex is one of my favorite tipsters
I will check out clay Ballard
I literally do the opposite. Bring the ball to the heal to find the sweet spot. Line of sight through the ball, put the marker to where the line comes out the back.
This other channel really suits you. Keep up the solid work.
Thanks
loving the new channel andy
Thank you
It make sense that the centrifugal force would push the club head out.
Mr. Average golfer you are a class act! This is a great concept, demonstrating ytube instructors tips brilliant. And lets not forger Alex Elliot! Great video, just subscribed.well put together ,your a good watch mate.
Cheers and thxs
would the outside of clubface line up work off the fairway with a hybrid? or even an iron?
I really like your shirt. I love cactus so much I moved to Arizona.
Thank you Moe Norman!
Where are you looking? Back of the ball, ground behind the ball?
I think this is compensation for most people who’s swing has slight outside in and hit the heel area most of the time. This will then compensate such swing fault.
Moe Norman set up even further back than that and he's regarded as one of the best ballstrikers ever.
This is interesting I always get told at address the toe of the club is inline with the ball and not the centre of the club face. That’s with all clubs. From my perspective though it looks in the centre.
Try it and let me know if it works for you
Does this toe alignment work for irons or just the longer clubs, like fairways and hybrids?
If I am honest I haven’t tried
What’s the drill to only try hitting it 150 yards? I subscribed to the channel you mentioned but having problems finding that video. Hitting the ball in play off the tee is my issue right now
The thumbnail image has the text ‘Weird but it works’
@@testingthetips thanks!
Did you change the position of the ball or is it off your lead heel?
Inside your left heel as normal
It’s because you early extend and flip thru impact. It’s a comfort thing. For guys who squat and rotate with a stable face it would be the opposite of you
that's why you keep your left arm straight at all times this is basic golf 101
How are you liking that XXIO driver?
I am shocked at how good it is tbh
Tried this at the range today for fun and was really surprised how well it actually works!
It is hard to believe but it genuinely does!
Having club head being behind the golf ball as you mentioned was done by Canadian PGA Moe Norman
I believe so 👍
Ricky Fowler too
Intelligent Golf Performance Stewart Cartwright is in my opinion the best golf instruction channel on RUclips...
His thoughts and teachings are on another level I've been following the channel for about 4 months and my Ball striking has gone from ok to really nice .

But how do you narrow down those bad shots? 🤷♂️
If John Bishop did golf videos.
Why 5 spaces between each word? Do you have a twitch
Yup, Moe Norman from 3 decades ago.
That was all taken by pipeline Moe Norman , practices for hours for muscle memory, quite the story and I've seen him at a clinic before he passed .
I think you need to hit more than 1 on camera.
I use this tip about where to lineup the ball on the tee. ruclips.net/user/shorts29AP3MeXQC8?feature=share
Gaaaaghhhh. TOO WORDY. Rehearse your speech FIRST. THEN reduce it down.
sorry but you're NOT an "average" golfer.
Why not?
I was always told the sweet spot on the driver is not the Center but actually slightly higher and more towards the toe of the club. I will try this club head placement to see if this theory you are promoting results in miss hits for me.👍🇨🇦👨🦳
So what you’re saying is that 99% of all tour players are completely wrong and you’re right got it…
Or you could act like a grown up 👍
Moe Norman would place the clubhead a foot back at address. As many pro gofers such as Nicklaus, used to say, it's the first part of the takeaway that counts and Moe was removing some of the risk of going outside or inside.
Always a dipshit in the crowd, if you don't like the tip just go away and shoot your 100+ scores.
Mr Ricky Fowler would disagree
@@antoniovrsalovic7296- Ricky hasn't been relevant for years with the exception of his final round choke at the U S Open. 🙄
