I keep re-watching this video 🤩. My "best guess" to summarize this is that damage occurred to the LOX line for one of the main engines during hot-staging, which progressively worsened until catastrophic engine failure.
The first puff in other videos and the drop in LOX levels from telemetry support the LOX line damage. The second puff was likely one of the main engines exploding, possibly from the resulting imbalance to the oxygen/fuel delivery to that engine. Since only 2 of the remaining main engines were firing this put the vehicle into a flip, shortly followed by FTS. The only section remaining would be the nose cone area since this location doesn't hold fuel.
What do you all think about this assessment? Any other theories? Comment below 🙂

Confirms my impression in IFT-1 that Starship fired boosters briefly after the booster exploded. The design went toward surviving touchdown, so you really have to hit it hard to make it break. They've only fueled it minimally and done landing hops, so I'm not really surprised that after a six minute burn the back end fell off at engine shutdown. More surprised it didn't do it sooner.

Well now we know what happened to the ship. The leaking propellent that you can see on this footage is liquid oxygen. We know this because If you look at the SpaceX live stream at the end of the 2nd stage burn, just before the RUD, the amount of lox starts decreasing faster than methane. This is one of the things Scott Manley pointed out in his analysis of fight 2. The leak must have been caused by some sort of onboard explosion. The leak on the oxygen tank looks to have been on the side of the ship and would have generated enough thrust to make the ship spiral like we can see in your video. This spiral could have made the ship go off course enough to cause the onboard guidance computer to terminate the flight.
Absolutely stunning footage! Great work! Now you just need to go and apply for a job at SpaceX! (they would probably higher you on the spot)

I kind of knew what to expect from the snippet I saw on X. I was not ready for that tragic music, it really got me in the gut, I shed a tear for that magnificent ship and the thousands of hours and hands and minds that went into her.

What an incredible shot! Has SpaceX reached out for the raw footage?

Pretty sure SpaceX has this coverage when having sensors and cameras on the ship.

So it DID rotate and tumble quite a bit, I saw the live stream and couldn't figure out how the camera all of a sudden was gaining on the rocket and getting an angle from the front.
Nice work as always, the part where the gasses have a rainbow-color-effect is simply stunning!
