I bought my wife a Red metallic CRV hybrid Sport (not touring) two weeks ago and the salesman said it had XM radio which it doesn't ! After the sale he said you plug it into your phone and get XM radio with the android auto and Nav. The charging ports are very slow chargers. He said if you want to spend $6K more you can get XM and the other stuff. We didn't want leather living in South FL sun eats the leather. What we miss is the back door auto opener, Nav built in , XM radio, 90% of our driving is city. If your mostly highway driving in rural area I'd go for the non hybrid. Its decent size inside and comfy cloth is nice. I hate being squashed and Im 290 lbs but I feel ok on those seats and interior. Watch out for all the added fees ridiculous! Hybrids seem to be harder to get from what I read we paid sticker plus all the other crap they add on Tax, tag, title, dealer fee no choice and didn't pay the extra $6K dealer market adjustment sticker. From what I see driving at night comparing to my other cars and truck you don't really miss the fog lights the stock LED headlights light up the sides of the road very well super bright. The auto hi beams work well also. Do your homework read the options, investigate ask questions even though they lie to make a sale. I haven't checked the miles per gal yet. Not too worried about no spare tire thinking back all the years I had flats they were a nail/screw and a very slow leak that you could put in air and keep going unless a blowout or sidewall.

I got to test drive one of these a month ago. I drive a civic and this felt like it drives similar to my car, just higher up. I have been hearing from other reviewers that the mpg averages are 3-6 less than what Honda is saying, which surprises me.
I also talked to one of the managers at my local dealer and they were saying they think the CR-V lack of tech is due to the availability of chips and trying to get these out in a reasonable time (which I feel like was a miss considering older ones have better tech). Overall, I like this car but feel like those price hikes from prior year just weren’t justified enough for what you get, only if you got the EX gas trim since it’s more bang for your buck.

Actually, the 40k does match what you get in the rav4… the xse is the trim level that is compared to this trim and you get cloth/leather combo, heated seats, and a normal moon roof. No premium audio. However, Toyota does have better gas mileage and a spare but the quality of the interior and the drive experience in the crv blows the rav4 out of the water.

Not sure inventory on these CRV's. But I wanted something that could tow a minimum of 1500lbs. Towing a motorcycle trailer. I'd go for a sport because all things you mentioned like heated options, fancy stereo, don't mean much to me. Its 120 degrees here in the summer, and leather/fake leather is awful in that heat.
I like to go camping or hiking which is usually off the beaten path and on offroads/softroads. Sometimes requires stream crossing about 1 foot deep.
Not sure this CRV hybrid would do. A friend of mine has their RAV 4 that hasn't ever had any issues and another with a Forester which pretty much lives in that element.
My old RD1 CRV can transverse it all but its suspension needs to be done but before I do I thought I look around for something new.

Test drove this and the Rav4 hybrid back to back. I RAN back to the Honda dealership to put down a deposit.
The Rav4 sounds so coarse when driving over 30mph and highway noise was so bad me and the salesman were raising our voices to keep talking, it lets in so much road and wind noise. Plus on the Brand new RAV4 there were squeaks coming from the trunk. The CRV had no such issues in this 25 degree weather. Rav4 was a TAD zippier feeling but not enough to win me over. Toyota is getting away with $3.5k over MSRP. The CRV is $1k (non-negotiable but it comes with all-weather mats, splash guards, and 3 years of oil changes.) over at my stealership so the prices for similar specked amenities come to be within 500$ of each other after "MarKet AdJuStmEnt".
The CRV has a much smoother, and tranquil ride above 30 mph. 100% Prefer the refined, smooth and quiet ride of the CRV, even if it is a WHOLE .3 seconds slower. The ONLY thing I would change about the CRV is giving it a spare tire. It seems like a terrible decision to have not made room for even a donut spare. Fix a flat will work in some conditions, but not all. I've never needed to throw on a spare in my 13 years of driving, but it is always when you don't have it is when you need it. I will abuse the complementary roadside assistance due to their horrible engineering decision. That is my biggest apprehension, but I will take that over an unapologetically noisy and cheap interior.

I always though the hook you pointed out at 3:02 is an eye hook for winching the vehicle. For example if stuck or loading on a tow truck. Can you say what else would be pulled with it? Perhaps it's for a chain if one were to use some of that 1000lb towing capacity.

I bought the EX AWD and after 2,500 miles it says my mpg is 30.9. To get CarPlay or Android Auto you plug your phone into the USB. I live in a rural area so I don't use navigation much so I don't mind that. Bluetooth connects automatically which is what I use most. If I want navigation and Android Auto it uses up the one USB port and I like to fill a thumb drive up with music but as I said I live in a rural area and don't use maps much. The infotainment system is lower end. I used the wireless Android Auto on my previous vehicle and it was convenient but it also constantly used up data on my phone. One of the main reasons I didn't get the hybrid is the lack of a spare tire but also it looks like the gains in mpg are mostly for city driving.

The civic has alway been one of the most popular cars in the world so parts are very regularly available. The prius depending on weather you get an xle awd(same mpg as civic hybrid) or the limited(2 more mpg) that still only is only $800 more in gas over 200k miles in the civic. Does that justify the 1500 extra cost of the prius limited over a civic sport touring. Nope. Why would you suggest the toyota over the civic? @@Hallowsaw my friend I think you got lost. Prius and civic are in different class. Civic vs Corolla is the right comparison. Civic is popular in North America thats about it. In South Africa they are almost non existent, I was there in June 2022 and corollas are all over the world. The civic doesn't have a hybrid at this moment in time, the corolla does have 4 different trims for hybrid especially the sedan variant so right there the civic is already behind. Toyota has so many options for everyone when it comes to trims. Hondas are way too expensive for what they are and even though I don't rate the Korean brands that much, they are catching up to honda when it comes to value and features which an average driver sadly cares along with pricing. Also the corolla hybrids are not even top trim either and even if the civic brings their hybrid out I can bet with my top dollar it's already on touring trim which will be a failure due to cost. Honda never learns and the CRV us already facing the fate. You mentioned prius and does honda have priua variant and that answer is no so honda has so much to learn at this point. So Shawn as much as you like Honda, yes they are beautiful and all that, plus their outrageous pricing and they are already going downhill as we speak and pricing will always being Achilles heel for them.
