Nothing lol It's a new coat of paint (a good one at that), reskined guns and killstreaks. CoD brought new things up to Black Ops 1 and after that, not alot of new things were introduced to Multiplayer sadly.
Lee Smith Currency, new game modes, theater mode, creative weapons (underslung flamethrower, ballistic knife and explosive-tipped crossbow). They also changed some of the biggest mistakes of MW2, sidearms are not as good as primaries, quickscoping was made harder, you get new killstreaks only by kills done with your own weapons, not other killstreaks, no hated classes like marathon+lightweight+commando+tactical knife or one man army+danger close+grenade launcher. Zombies were one of the most liked features of World at War and people wanted more and they got it. The story is was one of the best in the series. Also for me at least, different time setting can make a huge difference, especially if that time setting is something as rare in games like cold war.
CoD 4 was a revolution to the fps genre, but WaW took a step back but was actually really good, MW2 was amazing, it improved upon a game that needed no improvement, Black Ops offered a lot of content, MW3 was kinda disappointing, but BO2 brought innovation back to the cod franchise and was the last good CoD
it was good back then , there has been better cods such as black ops2,modern warfare 3 was decent but ,treyarch is vissually easier to play ,ghost ,advanced warfare, and and infinite warfare is a joke compare to this thats why he misses it
@Zadamanim I have to disagree with the rational organization of perks. If you're talking about MW2's perks, then you're right, but IMO, Treyarch did a nice job on organizing the perks. To me, the blue perks are all about play-style. With lightweight, you can rush, with ghost, you can flank the enemy (or camp), with hardline, you can aim for those high kill-streaks. The red perks are specific to your gun, if you take a look at it, and the green perks give you something to counter the enemy with.
@bigredog100 except for the fact that hardened is actually deep impact, NOT stopping power, and all those guns (except the famas and ak74u) have noticable recoil
this and World at War were the only CoD games i actually owned, i really loved how well they play and multiplayer/zombies are the only modes i ever played (well after i finished the campaign of course!) i got them again for my ps3, but now days there are hackers on WaW and black ops has those gay infection videos you can watch and cheat in games. so now i just play zombies. lol
There is a feature in the options of the game where content is restricted, meaning no gore, less blood, etc. but I'm not sure if it effects the swearing.
However, I find Modern Warfare 3 to be a bit more fun and dynamic because of all the subtle changes made to the gameplay experience, like the pointstreak reward system, the strike packages (especially Specialist), the MOAB, the tighter map design, the weapon Proficiency system, the introduction of Infected, Drop Zone, Face Off, and all the new DLC content through Elite Premium...
the campaign for this game was great. for once i actually got what was going on in the game, the multiplayer was less fun for me than modern warfare 2 though. the maps just werent very good. and the guns werent as varying to use. i did enjoy the contracts though.
@MrWiiFanatic Same as the other consoles, on average, 8 hour campaign, if you have online on your wii, it'll probably keep you interested until MW3 comes out (if that comes out on Wii)
@MaReXas39 I was trying to make a point, according to the last time I checked(about 3 months ago), Battlefield 3 is most preordered FPS, technically placing it at the top. I don't hate Call of Duty, I dislike it in some cases, I don't think its a bad series. I play it a lot. I'm not trying to change anyones opinion. And I agree. Battlefield may be at the top now, but, like CoD, it will be replaced at the top by a new series. CoD could come back, if it makes a big, new innovation to the series.
@xGzUP Yeah, once I beat the campaign (Once on Recruit, then normal, then hardened, then veteran,) I play multiplayer occasionally until I'm bored of it, and then I play campaign again. The campaign is the best mode because it's YOU being the main person, and none of the online lag or problems.
@MegaChristaras No that is not true, game review sites have been given the rights to upload game footage to youtube by the game developers in order to promote the game. Review sites will not disappear. But as for average joe that wants to upload game footage to his channel, it is technically illegal. However, many game companies do not take game footage videos down because they like the advertising.
I bought Black Ops II wanting to play a shooter with multiplayer and co-op features on my PS3 (also on my HDTV). After reading several reviews on how different its campaign was to the Infinity Ward versions, I had to take a break from multiplayer and play Black Ops 1's campaign. Annoying and dumb AI, but that story was awesome. The Zombie mode was great too, and the hidden Dead Ops was hilarious sweet. I hate myself for missing out on this in 2010.
You should definitely get Black Ops! Especially with its direct sequel being released this November, lots of people have come back to play it some more (despite the fact that it had been played alot anyway). In my opinion (considering setting, plot, coop mode AND mp) this is by far the best CoD to date! Treyarch actually care about their community and do a much better job than IW. I know many people dislike them for the fact that they cost money, but with this game I highly recommend the DLCs ;)
@reichmise okay 1st of all they got rid of Machine Pistols and Quickscoping which were 2 things everone loved, and they kept noobtubing and final stand which everyone hated. The multiplayer lags like heck, whenever I play I shoot a guy and a second later I get hitmarkers, and occasionally the franrate slows down alot, and they bascially got rid of sniping completely. And I cant have a masterkey/flamethrower on my gun with another attachment.
Reasons I loved Black Ops: -It kicked MW2's a**, I HATE MW2. -It nerfed quick-scoping. -It removed stack-able kill-streaks. -It was a Treyarch game, and since IW forgot we, the PC gamers existed, I forgot they did, and I liked WaW... The only thing they missed was large maps, but being Call of Duty, what can you expect? -It outlived it's usefulness, so I did not pay for the DLCs. -It was the last Call of Duty game I buy, and I knew that getting it.

@FoSOfficialChannel I read the forums, lots of complaints i know. But i tested the game on 5 PC's (3 at work and 2 at home) with various configuration. All actually ran BO fine, no BS. I can imagine how frustrating it can be.
@kdotmj Yep. COD 4 was amazing, but they really balanced the MP, gave us combat training, a theater, AND an amzing campaign. (The campaign is what I buy it for. Before I had Xbox live, that was all I could play, so I care about that the most).
@FoSOfficialChannel Here is my main PC rig: i7 930 @ 3.9Ghz, GTX 570 (stock), 6Gb 1600 RAM and 1 TB HDD. Got 13 admins across 3 servers, all have no issues at all. 95% of the issues are due to outdated drivers or new drivers installed over old ones. If you have a sound card, disable it and there are several tweaks in the config files.
Should i buy black ops or battlefield 3 my friend has black ops and i can always borrow it from him and i can get battlefield brand new for cheap but i'm still not sure what to buy Please respond
@conman636 not true it is true some guns are favored however, with the right attachments and amount of skill you can make any gun just as lethal as the next.
Good points: 1) Looks great, lots of detail etc. 2) Controls aren't clunky. 3) Interesting story. 4) Some cool weapons. 5) JFK and zombies. Bad ponts: 1) Short story. 2) Story is a blatant rip-off of Fight Club. 3) Bad multiplayer matchups. 4) No stealth (misleading name). 5) No Spec Ops.
4:14 Ha, it says Call of Duty: Black Ops Xbox 360... then the reload indicator pops up on screen and has the square button on. Since when has the Xbox 360 controller had a square button?! LOL, just noticed that little error and thought I'd share.
do you guys recommend me buying this at all i always have been interested in this storyline but is the multiplayer better after a year it has been out?
@fan977 My point is that if a game get's a higher number than another game dosen't mean it is a better game, becaus it is just a number. The games you mentioned is all better games in my opineon, but my point is that people don't seem to give a crap about styles of games or gameplay, only some random number a reviewer gave it. And I agree with you on black ops, but my point was that numbers don't show how good or bad a game is, becaus they are based on personal opineons.
I just got black ops 2 yesterday, played it until 3:00 AM, went to work late and leaving work early to play again. Awesome game and the best thing is: no campers!!! Everyone trying to explore the maps and rushing all over
I was thinking about buying that game. But I wonder if it´s worth it, cuz I´m pissed about the overpowered weapons and killstreaks in mw2 and 3.. Can anybody tell me if black ops got a better balance?
i really love Black ops but the main problem i found was that you unlocked everything at the beginning. this makes it less frustrating to prestige but does come with the fact that Leveling up isnt exciting anymore. hope MW3 will get rid of the Currency system tough
@Kevin112793 Well the zombie mode started in Call of Duty World at war and it became a really popular multiplayer game among the gaming public so they are trying to create that feeling again by putting it in this game. Plus it's a fan favorite do you know how much backlash the game makers would get if it wasn't in there.
@28Predator U are totally missing out this has to be my fav call of duty ever it surpasses mw3 & 2 in every way. At first I did not enjoy it but I gave it time and I'm still in love :D
@TheWrathMinister absolutely, I mean they all except MW 2 have great stories but the gameplay is pretty much the same, COD 4 was a very special game and I understand them being scared to change stuff but I think a little change wont be bad. I will always buy COD games as I am a huge shooter fan, I get my hands on any shooter I can find so I really hope I see something special and new about the next COD game. Black Ops is a great game, it had the best story so I just hope the next one is better
@poliv67 I hear you but as far as the frenzy involved that's every shooter ever made. You fail and the next time you approach the enemy with a different tactic.Personally I enjoy all genres of gaming. To each his own.
Modern Warfare and Black ops are the best! They both tried something new and different! Modern Warfare brought the series out of WWII and into the 21st century. Black Ops had an amazing single player campaign, fantastic Zombies, and a pretty good Multiplayer mode. MW2 and MW3 are the exact same shit released for £40 every other year.
A big problem I had with this game's campaign (aside from what I thought was sloppy single-player map design) was that it tried to be 3 kinds of action movie at once. At first it tried to be kind of a gritty, somewhat realistic, espionage-y type story like the Bourne movies, then it tried being your typical action-y war film, and then ended up being a bizarre James Bond style super villain want's to destroy America story. By cramming in all these things side by side, it kinda ruined em all :(
I had a few problems with BO: The Campaign was too short. It doesn't pace itself. and multilayer is ridiculous. It would have been a good game if the balance issues were ironed out.
As a Battlefield fanboy, I have to say that this game was damn good. I had a lot of fun playing it. Great campaign and multiplayer focussed on skill and teamplay.
@CFL0LSmilyFace i respect your opinion, and i think ur right. cod isnt as good as most say... id say its more of a 7-7.5. but i dont understand why people hate on it so much. most people hate on it probably cuz there not good at the game. the people who truly do not like it don't post stuff like the top comment "black ops is good for one week maybe" its all preference, as well as the console wars, i just think theres a bunch of prebuscent kids wanting to be better then everyone else.
@FoSOfficialChannel No lag, got a server my self, just smooth as always. I really do not need to support a company or product unless my experience states so. Never had an issue with black ops in terms of lag, be it on pc or online, runs just fine since launch day. DLC maps are also just fine.
@sopradarnota it's actually very very fun I have crappy internet and rarely ever lags sometimes it will say "connection interuptted" and thats because people try to lag others so they can kill them but most of the time it doesnt happen so if you liked the other cod multi's you'll love this
First off, the word is "than," not "then." Second, I think Black Ops offers a more stable, fair, balanced, skillful competitive multiplayer experience. Even the most "cheap" or overpowered/overused guns like the FAMAS and the AK74U are nowhere near as dominant as the ACR or MP7 are in MW3.
@Camps2630 Yeah I love COD too, but it is starting to grate a little. I love how they switch time periods and add new features in every new addition. But imo it doesn't seem to justify the huge price tag that never seems to lower, until about a year later. Hopefully the franchise will begin to lose steam in a couple years time but I won't hold my breath, nor will Activision. Black ops is still my favorite so far though, don't care what anyone says.
You know what, I'm a halo fan, and I love halo 4, but that's not going to stop me from getting and enjoying it, nor does it mean that i hate Black ops 2 just because its a COD game. It's okay to like and play more than one franchise
@COCorruption Agree here. As far as played all CODs from CoD4, BO brought most good things with exception of CoD4. I think that 3arc needs tp get on with new ideas like with BO, and dont copy and paste like IW. I've started to see that Blops is good game after mw3 release, only poor gun balance (not OP guns, but almost all guns same), hard challanges to get pro perks, second chance and hit detection (that failed also in mw1) were bad. Also BO is only COD game supported after releas
Ive had no experience of COD and don't want to be overwhelmed on my first experience. That's why I just purchased it for the DS. I view that version as COD For Beginners.
i had an awesome idea for this when i heard cod points. instead of leveling up and buying guns instead all of them are unlocked and you can buy them but you have to unlock the attachments
@Blackatz21 I did mention it was my opinion and if I was trolling why would I pan mw2 on a black ops review and not its own review ? Sorry I made you cry.....
Back when CoD was fun, creative and good. Miss that era.
Nothing lol It's a new coat of paint (a good one at that), reskined guns and killstreaks. CoD brought new things up to Black Ops 1 and after that, not alot of new things were introduced to Multiplayer sadly.

By cramming in all these things side by side, it kinda ruined em all :(
What is the hardest c.o.d game to play on veteran?
I had a few problems with BO:
The Campaign was too short.
It doesn't pace itself.
and multilayer is ridiculous.
It would have been a good game if the balance issues were ironed out.
@mynameislorenz there is a campaign?
Do you like Quick time events?
As a Battlefield fanboy, I have to say that this game was damn good. I had a lot of fun playing it. Great campaign and multiplayer focussed on skill and teamplay.
@0Behemoth Yeah but I can't prestige. Still though you are correct and it is pretty fun.
DLC maps are also just fine.
is this worth getting if you have never heard of cod? pls reply
Have anyone noticed that this is nearly the only positive Black Ops review that doesn't get tons of hate?
@reichmise what console do you play on?
Black ops is still my favorite so far though, don't care what anyone says.
which campaign level do u break out of prison?
You know what, I'm a halo fan, and I love halo 4, but that's not going to stop me from getting and enjoying it, nor does it mean that i hate Black ops 2 just because its a COD game. It's okay to like and play more than one franchise
@Wintd1 lol its is £25 now in all stores nationwide i got from tesco yesterday great game best in series
This game has a special place in my hearth, hows the PC MP of this, still active ?
@Hardrock131 yeah people need to try games with alittle more of a challenge = medal of honor(2010)
Just love that how there is John F. Cennedy in zombie mode. (sorry for mispelling, im Finnish)
@Blackatz21 I did mention it was my opinion and if I was trolling why would I pan mw2 on a black ops review and not its own review ? Sorry I made you cry.....
