Out of all of the black opps missions, this is my favourite. There’s something so satisfying about seeing the oppressed rise up against their oppressors.
This happened in real life, difference is that nobody really escaped, most of the resistance prisoners died while some prisoners never engaged the Russian military. There was no Kasatka takedown and Vorkuta operations continued for at least a few more years before Nikita disbanded gulags.

When the background music start playing after Mason jumped on the train, you know the music playing about farewell sacrifce and knowing Reznov will never meet you again, many players didn't knew behind this background music, it's about unwanted farewell, from the beginning the music is already gave the clue that Reznov will die by knowing his sacrifice, but through out all mission we never know about that. Rest in peace Reznov.

Good old Soviet tactic.
Treyarch while making this game: How many badass lines should Reznov have? Eh, just give him all of them.
“Stalin had little need for heroes.”
“In Vorkuta, we are all brothers.”
His Vorkuta burns speech.
Just fucking epic.
Reznov is a good person he sacrificed himself for mason escaping at the end😢😢
Очень хороший я аж сам сочувствую и там в калл оф дьюти если проходить Мейсон только останется в живых
The good thing is Reznov reprogrammed Mason to kill Dragovich, Kravchenko and Steiner instead and before willing to sacrificed himself. Reznov only remained hallucination thought Mason think he's still alive and fought by his side. Reznov wanted a vengance of these three after what they have done of him and his comrade include Dimitri Petrenko :'(.
Reznov is a great Red Army soldier. RIP Reznov in Vorkuta.

This campaign was amazing! The combination of the iconic, powerful music and the amazing dialogue and the perfect storyline made this game such a classic.
Really felt like you could die and it would not matter for the rebellion, just part of the horde
@zoutewand bf1 had that for a mission. If you die you just start with another soldier
And let's be honest that door would have just bounced of Sergei

who thinks this is the best call of duty?
Cortis Tortis not even close
Multiplayer is debatable but Campaign and Zombies are at an all time high in this game.

@@compl1cated717 really think Black Ops 2 story mode and zombies is better than Black Ops 1 then you're either really young to even have this discussion, Black Ops 2 story mode was a joke.

Mason and Reznov make such an amazing team. If only Dimitri could have fought beside them. 😞
Too bad Sergei had to die
And Reznov
Sad..
Anarky 123 The sad thing is, that both didnt escape from there.
Both died there.
Its so fk sad, because i played CallOfDuty WorldAtWar and there reznov was your best friend and safed your life a thousands time.
@Raider 2747 do you see the numbers?
Raider 2747 yeah but t wasn’t really him. It was a vision that Mason wanted Reznov to save him again but it was just a vision

Out of all of the black opps missions, this is my favourite. There’s something so satisfying about seeing the oppressed rise up against their oppressors.

Jack Herrington nah its damn easy compared to o

But when that music kicked in, it was worth it.
Sup man
This happened in real life, difference is that nobody really escaped, most of the resistance prisoners died while some prisoners never engaged the Russian military. Also only 60+ prisoners were killed and only a few Russian soldiers were killed or injured. There was no Kasatka takedown and Vorkuta operations continued for at least a few more years before Nikita disbanded gulags.
So they died trying? :(

I just realized when they were chanting the steps, it's the exact steps to the Origins Easter egg in Bo2
Peptop the easter egg got the steps from Blops1. Its homage to the game.
Peptop omg yes someone else noticed
Peptop doubt. I mean the very first the is "secure the keys" and there arent any keys in origins.. the only thing that comes close are those generator that you have to secure in order to use perks. Step 5 is about killing the winged beast and there isnt anything with wings on origins.
Andi_ The keys are the staffs and the winged beast is the zombie pilot in the plane (the plane with wings). I doubt you’ve even played origins
Thats where your're wrong :D i'v playd it to the point that my console has shut down two times and it took a whole 4 days to get it back on :D ofc i see it the way you guys do but i was looking for more "to the point" references.

Who else feels nostalgic here? I remember the first time playing this with my best friend after school and loving it so much that we restarted and played it all over again. And I can't believe this campaign was made almost a decade ago. Brings a tear to my eye.
Watching this and my brother will visit later today. I remember playing this in the snowy cold. We'd sit there for hours replaying every mission. Such a great mission
I replayed this mission countless times.
I replayed this Game countless times
Inspector Nigel I think I’ve played this mission more than any other mission in any video game I’ve ever played.
Same
This and Numbers were my favorite levels to play.
Idk what to do, my player gets up and i cannot hit or anything

Every time i play this mission i get chills and nostalgia, the amount of work and love and passion that put into this game is made my childhood, and this mission is one of the best missions in cod history, the steps being said while breaking the prison and the brothers all fight alongside each other and of cours gary oldman as reznov is the best thing ever , much love to all cod community, your more than my allies , my brothers in arms , you are my friends 💖❤️️🙏🏻
I grew more attached to Sergei in one mission then I did to any new characters from the Star Wars sequels
@OpFor supporter cod vanguard was decent Polina might be one of the best villains in the series and also Constanze
I wanna hug him.
Victor Reznov is actually played by Gary Oldman... and Mason is played by Sam Worthington.
kkeenn123 they should make a movie with just those 2 great actors, I would be the first to see it
I never knew Gary Oldman played Reznov 😱
Ah yes I already knew tho reznov looks like Gary oldman
He said he didn't find it particularly exciting because apparently they just have you shout at the top of your lungs most of the time
" we are all soldiers without an army.
Betrayed, forgotten, abandoned. In vorkuta we are all brothers "
"Victory cannot be achieved without Sacrefices"
"With all my life"
Theese Reznov quotes are so heartbreaking because he Sacrefices Himself for Mason since thats the reason he stopped and die, because he reverse brainwashed Mason to kill Steiner,Kravchenko,Dragovich and so Reznov would die with avenged that has been accomplished by Mason.
"Victory cant be achieve with sacrifice mason,"
But reznov sacrifice himself for mason
The victory was reznov getting revenge on dragovitch, kravchenkov, and steiner. The sacrifice was him dying.
