    Thank you for this, I've been giving my boyfriend bi-weekly leg massages for the lymphedema he's unfortunately developed over the past year due to the loss of kidney earlier in his 20s, now in his mid 30s his body is no longer as resilient and as such requires a little more care than he did earlier in life. I'm glad I watched this video after reading some information on MLD/SLD, as I was not priming his healthy lymph nodes before massaging his legs as well as treating the massage as a typical massage with the pressure that accompanies a regular massage, it seems the only thing I was doing correctly was massaging up and away from the swelling. I'm very grateful for the information you've provided, and I'm happy to know that I can help my boyfriend better than before,

    I was born with lymphedema... I’ve tried to be positive and realized how blessed I am to be alive, to have all my limbs and have movement in all 4, but it’s extremely difficult.. 22 years later, I’m still very heartbroken every day when looking at my feet, when trying to put on jeans and my leg struggles to go through the jeans, when shopping for shoes and only fitting into sneakers 1 or 2 sizes above what they should be. It’s uncomfortable & sometimes my feet go numb . .. Hiding it from people especially romantic partners, breaks my heart & hits my self esteem . The list goes on and on. This condition really affects your every day life, more than you can image.. I pray to god every day that he gives doctors the clarity to find a cure for this.

      To spanishbarbie as somebody who has lymphedema I can honestly tell you that there is no cure for lymphedema it,s a really hard pill to swallow and yes it,s also a struggle putting on jeans and not being able to wear shorts and also only to be able to only wear sneakers and sandals but at least you and I are still alive but what I,ve learned is that there are other things that I can do it,s just that my legs are a bit heavier now have you thought about investing in a pump that will keep the swelling of your legs down I have one and it really works only thing is that it really cost a lot of money but it,s worth it but also do the massages like the drs. On you tube says because they know what they,re talking about well I wish you well in your journey and always remember don,t let the condition beat you you beat it thank you for listening

    Missed behind the knee and back of thigh.....which a LOT of lymph fluid accumulates. But I got the gist. Doing this 2-3 times a day and Leg Pump (just got it) AND wrapping AND compression garment on left leg when out and about is basically a full time job. I'm determined to bring my leg down and then Maintain BUT one still has to MLD, compression, Leg pump and wrap etc EVERY DAY. Secondary lymphedema sucks especially if the surgery was unnecessary and I was never told about the risk of cutting into my lymph nodes. This is no life and most people with lymphedema say cancer at least you can recover from it....or die. We all die some time. Lymphedema is a disease on the daily that destroys quality of life. and some people are dealing with other shit in life too so it can all get a bit much. anywho.......I need to do something because giving up just made shit worse.

      I experienced the same thing. :( I was never told one word about what removal of lymph nodes would do, and how it would be a lifetime of dealing with it, and how truly debilitating it is. There is so much research being done for other diseases, but I feel this one is treated as though it's not as important or as big a deal. It has ruined my life in so many ways, has prevented me from living the way I want to. It's plain depressing. You're not alone.

      Hought of going tramping, camping and fitting also leg bandages in backpack that take up so much room. Going tramping is challenging as I have shit Range of movement in left leg so end up tripping on tree roots as miscalculate lifting leg as cant lift normally. Which makes me feel like an unco-ordinated schmuck. I've suffered a lot more injustice and quite frankly dont mind when death comes for me, this journey in earth has sucked shit big time. Secondary lymphedema is the quiet life destroyer by specialist doctors that do not give a shit.

    • @codename495
      @codename495 4 года назад +1

      You’re not rubbing the surface of the skin, you’re using the friction of your hands to literally move the skin rather than push down.

    • @MSURehabMed
      @MSURehabMed  2 года назад

      The video can be deceiving. The goal of MLD is to move the skin in a certain direction. If you redden the skin then the MLD it too aggressive or there is too much friction on the skin.

  • @camajespa

    I don't understand why one would need to massage his axillary in this case... because leg lymph (even butt lymph) goes anterior in the inguinal, then both legs go to cisterna chyli, then thoracic duct and finish up your left collar bone. So, for me, in this case, you must massage neck first, then abdominal, then the left leg (towards inguinal).

    • @AnyelinaL
      @AnyelinaL 6 лет назад +11

      When you have bilateral leg lymphedema, you will have to move ipsilateral the lymph from your legs to your axillary lymph node (of the same side). You can do it one leg/side at a time. If you feel nauseous then stop, and try one leg and hours later or next day the other leg. But the strokes are the same, moving up the lymph from the leg up to the axillary lymph node of the same side, decongesting first the torso/abdomen like it's shown in this video.

    What exactly is Femalix Secrets? How does this thing really work? I notice a lot of people keep on speaking about this popular cellulite remover method.

    The drainage lymphatique does not need to use too much prssure, not the hole massage movement like a real massage is needed ,also she needs to be relax and not were those shoes that she has on. Also ,she needs to take note of the drainage in the ganglion that she does not do anything about it. and finally she uses too much manipulation with her hands...Her techniques are not prooven correct mediacally...any one can make their own home video now a days an say what ever they want...viewwers take care of your own health
