    Thank you so much for the videos. After cancer surgery I had 5 lyph modes removed from both upper legs 2 months ago. I have had mild swelling in the left foot and ankle. I have been doing your drainage and exercises every day morning and night and have seen a definite improvement. I still get swelling but it now subsides much faster. I'm 74 years old over weight male and retired. Thanks again so much! Unfortunately my surgeon doesn't seem to pay much attention To any problems or concerns after the surgery.

    I gave up manual lymphatic drainage long ago because 1) it was SO time-consuming - now with this new method, not so! and 2) The therapist kept telling me over and over again that I was not being gentle and light enough "like a breath". Now I know that I was right all along!

    Thank you, Kelly! It is a game changer for me. During my breast cancer treatment I had ALND on left side, but after an adjuvant AI therapy my left knee and hips started to get stiff, painful and swelling. I quit AI, and did a lot of exercise, PT, get massage, Ostheopathy, fascia therapy and very sloooowly get better. But I always felt something is missing. The lymphatic drainage is the key. After I did today first some of your video (exercise, massage etc), my knee and hip pain started to get MUCH better. I am dedicated to continue and make it part of my evereday life. Wish me strength and luck! Thank you for your wonderful job.

    I forward these to my PT who took care of me after my mastectomy. I do MLD every day & feel like I have control over my lymphedema between this & ketovore diet. Thank-you, Kelly 🦵🦶

    This is a very helpful video! I have not had cancer, but do have lymphedema in my legs. I have always had large calves, (thank you, Daddy!) even weighing 95 lbs. About 30 years ago my husband said “I think your legs are falling”. Ever since then I have paid attention. I currently have no ankles, and very puffy calves. I am now 79, have put on a lot of weight (thank you pneumococcal meningitis and sepsis and a month in hospital). That was a year ago and have not felt much like any kind of exercise since. Days are slowly getting better but not good. I have been massaging my legs upward, not knowing what else to do. Just happened upon this today and will now be doing legs routinely. Thank you so much. Your voice is so soothing and immediately relaxes me! ❤❤
    Be blessed!😊

    Thank you for this video! Because I was never diagnosed as Primary or Secondary, I’m hoping it will be ok to give this a try. Have had LE for 26 yrs so I no longer get MLD through PT since it isn’t covered under Medicare unless there is a problem. Thus, I do my own MLD on my leg. Thank you again!

    Could you do a series on lipedema? Maybe early identification of lymphatic drainage issues and some symptoms so that we who suffer don't have to develop full blown lymphedema before we get any treatment? Its a little different but also similar.

    I am crying even listening to this because none of my doctors care about my edema. They just say I'll stop eating salt which I have and put your legs up what should I do. I hope everything you're talking about helps me cuz it's so painful thank you

    Lying down with legs on a big inflatable exercise ball proves the easiest way to reach the legs and rest with them elevated. Try it. See what you think!

      Thanks!

    2 questions, how often is recommended to do this practice on a safe way?
    And, is it better to perform with or without lotion? Or Doesn’t matter…

    Great video. I have venous insufficiency and so most of the techniques in your videos have minimal effect but i recently tried the leg compression machine with noticeable results. It sometimes seems that the fluid then accumulates in the abdominal area. Are there compressions machines for abdominal / core areas? Or might a regular vibrating type massager applied to the abdominal area help?

    Thanks so much, I'm a 40 year old cyclist - just had all my groin lymph nodes taken out (due to melanoma) and am really concerned about how much exercise i can start to do now (5 mins day? Or aim for 6x10 mins a day?) and expect long term... will I ever be able to race again? it's only 3 weeks since surgery so far but i also have a lot of nerve damage from my knee to my groin....

    Thank you, this is really helpful. What would you suggest if you’ve had both lymph nodes removed in groin? Where should we be aiming for? I am guessing you would need to still go all the way up to the arm pit?

    • @eci_frog9994
      @eci_frog9994 Год назад +1

      I am wondering the same 🙂 Have also had lymphnodes removed from the ground.

      @@eci_frog9994I guess we got lost in time. I know my lymphoedema clinic said I need to just wandering if this research says to guide it somewhere else instead. I will ask when I go to clinic again and post here or maybe this will be picked up later. I don’t think that many people have our op done as not much info out there.

    Can you clarify where to massage for the groin? I am overweight. Above the joint/crease and below the joint/crease are two distinct areas for me. Do I make circles below the join, above the join, or do both of them separately (since I cannot go over the entire area with one circle)?

  • @simonphuket7782
    @simonphuket7782 Год назад +1

    For the buttocks area would you target the lymphs in the buttocks or still work towards the crease in the groin?
    Your videos are priceless and I am pleased that you acted quickly with modifications based on this latest research.

    • @CancerRehabPT
      @CancerRehabPT  Год назад +2

      Everyone is going to be different and we wouldn’t know unless that person had testing, but if someone didn’t have lymph nodes removed, I’d still move to the groin- as that is where most moves to. But that’s generalized and may differ for personalized treatment.
