    I ran that same tire last year and it hooked better than the ET Street R especially on a track that wasn’t prepped well. 1.39 was my best 60’ with them.

      Nice. I've only had them out one time so far and didn't get a lot of runs to get a good feel for them yet. True test will be next month in Houston. What PSI do you run on yours? From what I can tell it seems I can't run them as high as I ran my ET Street Rs, which I usually kept between 22-24.

      @Boosted Hemi I'm a bit relieved to hear that. Most people keep telling me they have to run them around 15-16, I like to keep it a bit higher. Seems to me like at 15 it would hurt on the top end, at least at my power level.

    Buy a beadbuster. Spent 200 on one but makes breaking a bead the easiest part of the whole process. Plus they're small and portable and won't mess up your wheels. Love the DBR too. They mounted so much easier than the R and hook just as good (if not better), weigh about 6lbs less per tire, and about $80 less per tire. Win, win, win.... Also, FYI I didn't even need to balance mine. Smooth all the way to 150mph

      Yeah, I'm probably going to look into getting some kind of cheap bead breaker. Plus I need one to yank some tires off of some scrap rims I have sitting in storage. I only got 3 runs on these new Hoosiers so far and still figuring them out. What PSI do you normally run on them?

    Well, I finally gave up on the Hoosier order. Placed it on November 1st with an expected ship date of December 6th, which has been extended twice. Now expected to ship on January 28th? So I ordered a pair of Mickey Thompson ET Street R's in P305/45R17 and they were shipped the same day, arriving on January 13th. Mounting them on a pair of Forgestar D5 17x10 drag wheels with 6.6" backspacing and dual knurled beads; they are light! I had been running huge 18x11 Demon wheels with Nitto NT05R 315/40R18's. They hook up great, but stick out past the wheel wells and splatter the entire side of the car during burnouts with water and bits of sticky rubber. They're really made for a wide body. Not sure if the new combo will do anything time-wise, but at least they'll fit better. Also got the lightweight battery you recommended. Racing later this month at Las Vegas. Best time last summer was 12.28 with triple digit heat and 5,000+ DA. Should be in the high 50's with under 2k DA, plus lighter battery & tire/wheel setup might help me crack a high 11. I will be very disappointed if this race prepped single seat 1320 fails to run 11's this time. I'll let you know!

      That sucks about the Hoosiers. I'm getting some good runs in with them this weekend and I'm liking them a lot. The smaller wheels will be lighter so that should help your times at least a little bit. I don't see how you don't break 11s in that weather in your car. I really hope you get it and by a lot.

    Nice. I've had these same tires on backorder since November 1st. Hey, where was the weigh-in? How much lighter are they than the MT's? I'm guessing you knocked off another 19 lbs. all together. Cannot wait to see how they perform compared to the Street R's.

    Looking forward to your video on the ET Street R's. Mine have A LOT more wear than yours and they still bite as good as ever. Have also heard from a couple sources the DBR may be alittle better than the ET Street R's, lookig forward to your observations on that as well.

      @Scavenger1320  Год назад

      I'll get a better idea on the Hoosiers next month, but they're definitely a lot lighter. The last race I had on the Mickeys was Maryland and I was fighting traction issues that whole weekend and it didn't seem to be an issue with the track prep. Plus they had a shine to them and talking to other people there they agreed my tires were done. I got almost 2 seasons of racing on them though so I can't complain.

      @@Scavenger1320 The grooves on my ET Street R's are long gone yet a month ago they gave me a best ever 60' (1.61). I have talked to folks you say they are done before the grooves disappear and others who said they worked as well or better when grooves are gone. I have 18's so the 60's aren't as good as most folks with 17's but the MPH is very good, upper 121's several times. I am looking to replace them and 17" DBR's are definately on my list. As always, looking forward to your videos.

      I don’t know for sure when it’s time to replace drag tires, but I know with my Mickeys the compound started looking “off” and my last weekend with them they just weren’t hooking like I was used to. Some people said my Mickeys still had life in them but I couldn’t trust them to hold anymore so I moved on. Plus I wanted to switch to Hoosiers anyway. So for me it’s more about how the tires “feel”

      Because I like them, because I can save money by mounting the tires myself, because several stock 1320 owners I know have marked their tires/wheels and shown that our cars can and have spun the tires on the rim. It may be N/A but these 1320s launch as hard as hellcats, sometimes harder.
