Nice video. I'm about to do weld-on beadlocks on my older Jeep & found your video while looking for info. Maybe I missed it or maybe it doesn't apply to your UTV, but what do you do about making sure the tire is centered/balanced as possible? I'm concerned the 33" I'm installing will have more wobble than can be balanced with weights.
Thanks for the comment. I don't think it really applies to my SxS. We are not hitting highway speeds where balance would be a real issue. I know some folks toss in balance beads but I haven't found them necessary. 33 is a big tire for sure and a lot of rotational mass. If you are driving highway as well as trail, I could see that balancing would be desired.
Thanks for all your awesome videos. Question, do you have to change both tires if you blow similar to a car? I'm guessing that's why you did so, but wanted to check. Thinking I will have a spare without beadlocks to get me back to home base, and two tires if/when I need to swap. Thanks for your help!
Yes, you need to take the beadlock off before you can dismount the tire. Be patient and careful unscrewing the 12 bolts, I wasn’t patient and stripped the bolt, and needed to buy a whole new rim
Agreed. But then you would likely be changing the wheel and tire. I never carried just a tire on the trail. I think most people carry a full spare when out on the trail.
when cleaning the bead ring, why would you do it right over the new rim that you just blew off, why not clean it away from the tire so dust and crap don't fall on your clean rim.
Not to be rude it is a good video but when airing up the tire should have left it on the bucket and pushed down no need for the strap. The strap would come in handy on a non beadlock tire and wheel 👍
Yep, I considered that as well. I think I am gong to just fab up a bead breaker with some scrap square tubing. Shouldn't be too hard to do. I wouldn't mind brushing up on my welding skills again. MIG welders are pretty cheap these days.
Um, thanks. I used to work for AMD for a number of years and have a lot of T Shirts left from those days. So, this is one of the shirts I wear when working on cars.
Beadlocks actually clamp the tire edge in place. This allows you to air down really low without breaking the bead. This is helpful when you are in loose conditions like sand or need more tire surface for traction like rocks. Additionally, if you hit a corner really hard and the tire sidewalls want to roll from the lateral pressure on them, they won't lose the outside bead and you won't get a flat. Tire shops don't like them because they can't use automated machines on them. You have to remove and install each bolt by hand so it's not an efficient use of their labor.
Just what i was looking for, yxz beadlocks. Those are great techniques!
Thanks. Glad it helped.
4:19 - figured how to break the thing down & then this became the real nightmare. Thanks!
glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
Great video, only add anti seize in place of wd-40👍Mud and water on Aluminum makes corrosion.
Huge thanks mate i don’t trust anyone else working on my rims besides me
You are welcome. Thanks for watching.
Good Job, nice and clear work.
Thanks for watching.
Thank you very much. Your video is very helpful.
You are welcome!
mix up a little dish soap and water then coat the tire beads with that solution. You will find that the tire will slide much easier on the rim.
WD 40 worked well for me but yep, soapy water is another good choice. Good tip.
They make special tire install lube just for this...
Always add a small dab of anti-seize to your ring bolts.
Good idea...definitely don't want those bolts shearing off when replacing the tire.

Thanks for a great informative video!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Thanks for taking the time.
You are very welcome. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the video and my channel.

Yes. That is why I had to change out both because one went bad.
@@RoughRidersTV awesome thanks so much!

QUESTION.. SO YOU TAKE OFF BEADLOCK RING 1st BEFORE THE TRAILER TRICK ??
Yes, you need to take the beadlock off before you can dismount the tire. Be patient and careful unscrewing the 12 bolts, I wasn’t patient and stripped the bolt, and needed to buy a whole new rim
Thanks. 😊
What tires did you run and size all around ?
Thanks for the video.
Glad you found it useful. Thanks for the comment
All your videos have been very helpful, thanks again for posting these. I meant to ask, what lbs do you torque your wheel lug nuts?
Typically around 75lbs or so.
Awesome thanks so much!
just wondering are crocs a osha approved work shoe???
Only when doing beadlocks. LOL
Did you take off the bead lock when you debeading the tire?
Yes. Sorry, should have showed that step.
Thats where the drill comes in handy but do a cross pattern method a little at a time. You don't want to warp the ring.
Question, I wanna send my beadlock rings to paint, only the rings. Do I need to take air out or anything in order to remove the ring or?
Yes, you should. Removing the ring will break the seal anyway so it's best to take the pressure off the bolts before loosening them.
Lol
It's looks like alba racing rims and wish they do in gloss white rims with any colour bead locks and I know omf Performance does any colours
What size tire and wheel like what’s the width of them both
good video...but when you're out on the trails .....and have to change a tire ! ain't no fucking torque wrench settings going on
Agreed. But then you would likely be changing the wheel and tire. I never carried just a tire on the trail. I think most people carry a full spare when out on the trail.
Great video thank you

Great video. I recommend using a good anti-seize on the bead lock bolts. WD-40 will cause you “over torque” without realizing it.

Not rude at all. That is a great tip. Thanks for sharing and stopping by as well.
Nice! Thank you!

I used anti seize in case I've ever gotta take it apart 😂
Rue Glide works better than WD-40. If you don't have Road Glide just use soapy water
I drove onto the sidewall of the old tires with my suburban, that broke the bead, much less work
Yep, I considered that as well. I think I am gong to just fab up a bead breaker with some scrap square tubing. Shouldn't be too hard to do. I wouldn't mind brushing up on my welding skills again. MIG welders are pretty cheap these days.
If you have an old bumper jack they work good the base is curved and goes around the rim nice.
Nice shirt! Lol
Um, thanks. I used to work for AMD for a number of years and have a lot of T Shirts left from those days. So, this is one of the shirts I wear when working on cars.
Rough Riders haha that’s cool. I used their hardware a good amount in workstations and builds for customers. Just had to spot that out.
I don't understand what the benefit of using a beadlock is. Most tire shops wont touch them. DIY takes a lot longer. Am I missing something?

Ya. good video. No strap needed.👍
