This is why so many children fall through the cracks in traditional schooling system. We want children to love learning. There is also the need to train children in the basic skills of reading writing, maths and critical thinking!
Just found your channel and you have sparked a fire in me! I am so excited to apply this to homeschooling my 6 yr old. My question is - at what age does their learning style become apparent? And are there any tricks to uncovering their learning style? I can’t quite pinpoint where my son is, except that he is not a follower
I love your videos, and I love this concept. As I’ve tried to actually implement this in the past, I find myself and our days going all over the place and always feeling chaotic and not knowing how to equip each kid in their individual learning styles and personal interests. I would love to see you do a video some time about how you put it all together and what your days and lifestyle really look like. Have you ever felt like you are just spinning your wheels, or that you can’t ever get any of YOUR stuff done, or that the poor kid who just wants structure and routine can’t seem to find it? I’d love to hear your thoughts on that in a video. Thanks for sharing your life lessons with us!
I found this incredibly helpful. Makes me feel so horribly about trying to get them all to be independent learners. I have a couple that won't do anything without me. And, then, I'm not getting anything else done. Grrr... I'm a work in progress. My children have all complete different learning styles from me, lol!
My friend has sent me your videos and I love them. I've seen your books recommended in several groups that I'm a part of and have several on my homeschooling wishlist. One thing I have a question about if you could be so kind to respond... I have a kiddo who is dyslexic/dysgraphic, and has ADHD. I suspect autism and RSD as well. We have always homeschooled. He fits explorer to a T. He can read well, taught himself and loves to read at a 5th-6th grade level. He's in second grade. This kiddo has always noticed all the little details of everything around him. He finds the most interesting things when we're outside- new bugs- fossils- an ootheca on a tiny branch. He's vibrant and easily bored. He's always been sensory seeking and excessively active (even in the womb). It's also very challenging because he has such a hard time with impulse control and frustration tolerance. I started spelling/phonics instruction after having him evaluated last May but he melts down nearly every time when we're working on things no matter how brief (usually 5-10 minutes a day). He has such a low frustration tolerance that this is normal for him in addition to other situations throughout the day including chores, which are also in my opinion... Brief. He is showing gains, but I often feel conflicted. Am I doing the right thing or doing him a disservice when he dislikes and fights against it so much?
As a follower, I feel seen for the first time. This was so helpful! I've got 4 school age kids and this really helped me understand them better. I can identify 2 of them, the others I'm still not 100%, but definitely feel like I have more direction for moving forward. Can a child have multiple styles? Or can learning disabilities make it harder to pin down their style?
Thank you so much for this! I have an only child Friends learner, and I am a detective with some explorer mixed in. God is going to help us stretch each other for sure. I wish all kids could have the freedom to thrive in their own style of learning. At least I hope I can do that for my son, and encourage the parents I know to give that gift to their children in whatever ways they can.
This was great, I feel like my 18 year old daughter has a little bit of all these styles. She also is dyslexic and struggles with academics but is so creative, and a great critical thinker. I have had to really tailor her education. I only wish I would have really allowed her to follow her passions like you. I encourage her as much as I can but I also need to guide her just to get the basics done. Thanks so much for all your insight.😊
Wow... This is helpful! I'm still trying to figure out some of my children's styles... But this definitely helps getting on the right track! Thank you!
Hi Sarah!👋 I am so happy that I found you on RUclips. I have been binging your videos. 😂 I have been homeschooling my kiddos since the pandemic and love how you explained the different learning types. Question: In your book "Mom Files," you state that creators love the arts and may be good at sports, music, or dancing. My son is definitely a creator and is excellent at basketball. How would I teach to his world in combining both? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. ❤
This was wonderful Sarah! Thank you for your explanations about each learning style it was so very helpful and inspiring. It has lit a fire in me to change things up a bit and make it so much more amazing for our sons. Now I have a better idea and understanding on how to go about incorporating their learning style as I customize their education towards their calling. 😊 Thank you!

There should probably be 8 just like there are actually 8 love languages not 5.
