Love this! I would love to see a video with focus on homeschooling children that all they want to do is draw and how you incorporate all the subjects into that. Especially when they have a lot of trouble focusing and think all other subjects are time wasters. Maybe also a video about homeschooling the child that shows zero interest in any topics aside from playing video games all day. Then the opposite child that has a lot of interests and just wants to learn about it all at once.
I cannot answer all your concerns but I know what worked for me with some of my children. I read most of the literature books out loud while they played with play-dough, Lego blocks or did art work. I later discovered audio books that made my life easier. We went outside most of the mornings to walk in nature and feed ducks at a local park. I found it easier to read when they had already gotten some energy out, usually when they want to eat something after playing so hard. I always packed the reading books. When they got a little older I continued reading out loud and mixed it with audio books. They did copy work and narrated back what we read. They don’t have to read it themselves. Expose them and allow them to draw or whatever while the hear the great books.
I get Jo! I remember wanting to do my older sisters work but we did ace so you don't get to skip also you aren't allowed to go to fast through it. At least in New Zealand. Funschooling is amazing!
This was wonderful. I watched it all the way to the end! I'm one of your biggest fans, Sarah. I tell everybody about you. I read your book, "Windows to Our World" years ago, and I fell in love with you and your family. I would love to get your newsletter. I can give you my email. You might already have it. I'm Penney Douglas.
I'm fascinated by your lovely family!
