    This is why so many children fall through the cracks in traditional schooling system. We want children to love learning. There is also the need to train children in the basic skills of reading writing, maths and critical thinking!

    My friend has sent me your videos and I love them. I've seen your books recommended in several groups that I'm a part of and have several on my homeschooling wishlist. One thing I have a question about if you could be so kind to respond... I have a kiddo who is dyslexic/dysgraphic, and has ADHD. I suspect autism and RSD as well. We have always homeschooled. He fits explorer to a T. He can read well, taught himself and loves to read at a 5th-6th grade level. He's in second grade. This kiddo has always noticed all the little details of everything around him. He finds the most interesting things when we're outside- new bugs- fossils- an ootheca on a tiny branch. He's vibrant and easily bored. He's always been sensory seeking and excessively active (even in the womb). It's also very challenging because he has such a hard time with impulse control and frustration tolerance. I started spelling/phonics instruction after having him evaluated last May but he melts down nearly every time when we're working on things no matter how brief (usually 5-10 minutes a day). He has such a low frustration tolerance that this is normal for him in addition to other situations throughout the day including chores, which are also in my opinion... Brief. He is showing gains, but I often feel conflicted. Am I doing the right thing or doing him a disservice when he dislikes and fights against it so much?

    I love your videos, and I love this concept. As I’ve tried to actually implement this in the past, I find myself and our days going all over the place and always feeling chaotic and not knowing how to equip each kid in their individual learning styles and personal interests. I would love to see you do a video some time about how you put it all together and what your days and lifestyle really look like. Have you ever felt like you are just spinning your wheels, or that you can’t ever get any of YOUR stuff done, or that the poor kid who just wants structure and routine can’t seem to find it? I’d love to hear your thoughts on that in a video. Thanks for sharing your life lessons with us!

    Another thing you keep with you for life is your relationships with your family, and just seeing how these siblings interact and have fun together is such a beautiful result of their upbringing. That completely impacts the rest of your life.

    A little off topic but I'm hoping you can answer a question for me about a 4 year old video you did, showing one of your kids' journals. You mention copywork and nature study, which made me think of the Charlotte Mason method. Do you or did you use any of those methods in home school? Did you take a little or a lot from that if you did? What do you think of Charlotte Mason's method? Thank you.

    @funschoolingmom Hi! I am drawing so much wisdom from your channel! As a future homeschooling mom I am confused about a couple things: 1. how do I turn all the informal learning into a quantifiable lesson that can be attested with the school district? How do I turn the academic experiences into courses & credits? If I’m homeschooling independently, is there a guide that I must use to make sure I’m covering a wide enough scope of education? I want to know I’m doing enough. 2. What mindset approach do you take to rest assured that by fueling my kids’ passions and letting them flourish into WHO God made them to be, that in the end they will be able to have financial security as they go out into the world? What is the thought chain to guide them towards a career that will sustain them outside of college? If my daughter wants to be an artist, what is the chain of thought to guide her to a path that will generate income?

    I ordered your books from a scholarship website in FL and was SO confused when they arrived (since I was expecting a classical curriculum) I set them aside and ordered some other curriculum, but as we go through this journey (it’s my first year) I find myself getting your books out more and more. So glad to finally be learning what they were all about!😁👍🏼

    The greatest sell for Homeschooling is honestly watching the kids interact. I would be proud if my kids ended up loving eachother and the Lord as you all seem to. God bless you guys!😊💕👍🏼 I also loved the answers to “what would you change about your fun schooling experience”. Some great food for thought & things for me to keep an eye out for. I can identify 2 of them, the others I'm still not 100%, but definitely feel like I have more direction for moving forward. Can a child have multiple styles? Or can learning disabilities make it harder to pin down their style?

    Wow, what an inspiring session! As a homeschool mom with a master's degree (really just an expensive piece of paper) my perspective on school and my children's futures has really shifted. I was hardcore "traditional" school, but that style of education got me almost nowhere. My degrees did NOT set me up for life, and just now in my late 30s I'm learning lessons about entrepreneurship. My oldest is incredibly artistic, and I see her in your personal story and your style of books. I want to inspire my kids with whatever God is calling them to do and then help make a way for them. For most people, college is a complete waste of time. College is NOT the golden ticket to life like the world makes it out to be. Thank you for broadening my horizons!

    This resonates so much with me. I wanted to be a teacher and a mom as a child. I wanted to have lots of kids. I was told teachers don’t make enough money and having lots of kids is too expensive. So I forced myself into the box they thought was acceptable. I went to school for accounting which turns out I was good at but hated. Dropped out senior year, became a stay at home homeschooling mom. I’ve never been happier and I’m not making a single dime!

    There are lots of ways to afford college for these kids. They need the curriculum to helps them establish good discipline. I’m a former homeschooler of 13 years and I actually do not recommend it. Especially with large families. I hate it when people make unschooling seem like a great idea. It’s not. Your kids will struggle later on in life.

    • @kyleegarcia5569
      @kyleegarcia5569 7 дней назад

      @ I am sincerely happy for you, but I think you missed my point. A lot of people will struggle. Not everyone is good at business. And not everyone can keep up with a large family and the high demands of schooling them all yourself. I had no support system, 5 kids very close in age, health issues that made it harder for me than most and I was brain washed to believe that it was the “right” way to raise my kids. It wasn’t. I’m happy I was able to raise them at home as long as I did, but I’m so happy to have them in an excellent school that hires multiple people to do all the things I failed to do on my own.
