@funschoolingmom Hi! I am drawing so much wisdom from your channel! As a future homeschooling mom I am confused about a couple things: 1. how do I turn all the informal learning into a quantifiable lesson that can be attested with the school district? How do I turn the academic experiences into courses & credits? If I’m homeschooling independently, is there a guide that I must use to make sure I’m covering a wide enough scope of education? I want to know I’m doing enough. 2. What mindset approach do you take to rest assured that by fueling my kids’ passions and letting them flourish into WHO God made them to be, that in the end they will be able to have financial security as they go out into the world? What is the thought chain to guide them towards a career that will sustain them outside of college? If my daughter wants to be an artist, what is the chain of thought to guide her to a path that will generate income?
I love this! I started reading books that laid homeschool out the way you do, but slowly fell back into traditional education at home over the past five years with five kids 1-10yrs and I see it not working and sucking them and me dry. This is inspiring me to go back to what I know is right for the kids! just curious, you mentioned you don’t spend a lot of time teaching the children, but how much time do you spend facilitating their interest and curiosities, driving them to lessons/libraries/around town for experiences etc..,and how do you manage all of that with 15 children? I want to facilitate my kids interest but I would spend half my day in the car which is not good for the little ones. Also, how do you manage funding their interests and how do you use the screens/Internet at different ages to allow them to learn. lastly, do you ever try to guide them toward one interest instead of another say they mention they like horses and Barbie… Would you try to guide them away from more twaddly subjects? Thanks in advance for any tips!!
This is a wonderful video. I would love for you to discuss practical college alternatives and ways to stop the nagging doubts in our minds when we are trying to break free from the 'traditional' ways of doing school!! 😊
@@funschoolingmom what's your favorite way to tap into the creative passions of each kid? What if there are some you missed this opportunity with that have already left home?
Curiosity, creativity, and sharing knowledge with others are all natural ways of learning and the children come with all these and the school setting isn’t natural and killing all these sadly😢
Wow. Blown away. I needed this so much.
Thanks for sharing this amazing video. I am a new mom and I am looking forward to homeschooling as well.
