- In this video we install an active autowerke performance muffler on my 2011 BMW 328xi. It sounds pretty good. We take it for a drive and compare it to the stock muffler. Thanks for watching. Have secondary cats deleted and muffler delete. Sounds nice. Not overly loud and has a good tone to it. Plus all the snap crackles and pops.

I have had the AA Gen 2 for just about a year now and I love it but I do wish it was louder inside just like you. Did you ever end up doing a secondary cat delete too? Curious to know your thoughts if you did. And if not, do you think a resonator delete would add too much drone? Some drivers complain about the AA exhaust drone with everything else stock, which I don't notice one bit and it also doesn't bother me if some drone is there. But removing the resonator could bring any increased drone issues to my attention when driving and I am not sure if I should move ahead with that idea or not. I am just going to have trouble finding a shop to do a secondary cat delete nowadays unfortunately. Great video and thank you!
I never did the resonator delete and have sold the car to a friend. I’m sure it would increase the volume of the exhaust which has a chance of adding drone. Only one way to find out. 👍
tbh even a full muffler delete sounds perfect and would probably be a pretty good cost effective mod compared to a $750 muffler but I wonder what AA headers and a secondary cat delete would sound like paired with this muffler id imagine it might be the perfect match but that mufflers pretty damn expensive especially for a n52
Agreed. The BMW performance muffler sounds the best but you can’t find them anymore.
It's a garbage. You are paying that much plus install to listen to the drone. If you drive in highway with window down, your brain will fucking hurt.
@@RearEngineShop Agree. I heard it was built by Remus. I just bought a 128i M sport & thought about doing the Magnaflow catback. Sounds pretty decent also

Keep the resonator, if you want louder get headers, resonator deletes get raspy and make drone

Did you have weld because you cut a little more than necessary to clamp? I’ve read on other forums that others have installed it on xDrives without welding. Just curious because I’m planning on getting the exhaust for my E90
No I actually cut it the exhaust too short and had to cut it again. My exhaust was too large for it yo slide over so I welded it.
Hello, how do you feel about the exhaust after a couple months? Has it got any deeper/louder since you first put it on?
It is a little louder but not a ton. I think it needs the resonator removed to be a lot louder. Did a muffler delete on a co workers E90 last week and it doesn’t sound a whole lot different. 🤷♂️

Honestly yes. Did a muffler delete on a coworkers 328i and it’s only slightly louder.

@@themysteriousdiamond4526 the muffler delete will have a little drone at certain rpm. Not bad for the car at all.

@@RearEngineShop I bought this muffler a week ago, it’s coming in on Monday. For the life of me I can’t find anywhere online where someone’s gotten a secondary cat delete alongside this muffler; seen plenty on the PE exhaust and they swear it makes the exhaust note better. Having owned the muffler for as long as you have, would you say it’s gotten louder? Im not looking to wake the neighbors up; just want to really feel and hear what that straight six can do.
@@haiktonoian530 it has increased in sound some. I’d say install it and run it for a couple months. If you want it louder go for the secondary cat delete.

What's the name of the muffler
If you go to Active Autowerke’s website and search E90 parts you will find it. I think it’s the only muffler they sell for a 325/328 E90.
