I have been struggling to pass the TSI math section since April and I was losing all hope until I saw Mr.Toohey’s videos and crash course. Guys Mr Toohey is the real deal when it comes to math prep on the TSI, I’m not gonna lie I was a bit skeptical at first but his 2 rules are what helped me the most on the TSI and I was able to get a 963 first try remember think logic before anything!!!
@@dimitrij8669 I’d recommend doing the prep that is on his RUclips they helped me a lot honestly, it’s not hard just make sure to take your time, and also just take a few practice test only see where u are want find similar questions to the ones you miss, the test isn’t exactly hard just need to be careful with wording Bc they will try and trick you

I got right answer for all except the last number. Until show what is real number and I made my final answer. Turns out it was right. Math is easy once don’t have the weight of added pressure .
Good question! This video is from the most recently released TSIA2 Practice test, and applies to the most recent version of the test! That being said, I’m working on some newer TSIA2 Math content as well, so be on the lookout for that soon!
20 questions, some similar to these… if you don’t pass the first set of 20, you will take a 48 question “diagnostic” section… but if you do well enough on the diagnostic section you can still pass the test!!

So are these questions the same sort of processes that are on the TSI this year? So if we know this we should be good? I take the TSI tomorrow and I have not had any time to prepare and am freaking out!
If you can handle these kinds of questions easily on your own, you should be in pretty good shape... there are some more specific algebraic concepts, geometry, statistics, and data analysis, however, that don’t appear in this particular video (but are covered in the full version of the course).... But if these questions appear easy to you at first sight, my guess is you have a good shot at passing... Best of luck on the test!!

Good question!! We don’t know the exact answer (the makers of the test keep the scoring scale intentionally unclear) but if I had to estimate I would say 14/20 on the first set of 20 questions should be enough to get you a passing score… Let me know if you have any other questions!

The course is separated into 6 “Days” of prep… some students have completed everything in just a handful of days, but probably closer to a week for most… There’s around 13 hours if instruction total… let me know if you have any other questions!
The course is 6 “days” long, from start to finish, around two hours of video instruction for each day, and practice problem sets in between each section… most student can im finish the course in around a week, but many finish sooner depending on the time available to devote to their work each day….

At the end of each “Day” of the course, practice the problem sets in your own, using the strategies I teach you to use in the course! If you don’t remember how to solve one, review the explanation in the video… Once you can answer all the questions in the problem sets on your own, you are ready to take the test!
Don’t worry! All the questions in Day 6 are from the most recently released TSIA2 Math Practice test… if you can handle those questions you should have no trouble with your test tomorrow! Best of luck - I’m praying for you your success!!

Yes! The Diagnostic section includes 48 questions: 12 from Quantitative Reasoning, 12 from Algebraic Reasoning, 12 from Geometry, and 12 from Probability and Statistics... so it’s a mix basically like the first 20, just more questions... Don’t give up if you don’t pass the first 20 though - you can still pass if you do well enough on the diagnostic section... You need to think of it as a second chance to pass, because that’s exactly what it is!! Let me know if you have any other questions... Thanks!

Hi Mr. Toohey, I took the TSIA2 Math and I failed it. I Then took a 5 weeks remedial math class and passed with an A. But now my school is telling me that I still have to take the TSIA2 Math in order to rank for my program. I thought the remedial Math class would override the TSIA2 Math so that I wouldn’t have to take it again. 😞
I’m sorry to hear you still have to pass the test… each school/program has different requirements, but I’m surprised like you that the remedial class wasn’t enough for your program… did they change the requirements?

Is that really a practice test? It has no scoring guide. What score is needed on the actual test, and how can someone gauge what they will score on it?
The questions that appear in this video are from the most recently release TSIA2 Practice Test released by the college board (it’s just a sample of the questions in the video)… a score of 950 is considered passing… it’s unclear how many questions you need to get right out of the first set of 20 to achieve a passing score, but in my estimation something like 14 correct out of 20 should be enough to achieve a passing score. Is the imbedded calculator on the TSI exam a graphing calculator? Or just a basic calculator for all questions?

Good question! No, you don’t need to be perfect on the first set of 20 questions… closer to 70% on the first 20 should be good enough! : )

So are these questions the same sort of processes that are on the TSI this year? So if we know this we should be good? I take the TSI tomorrow and I have not had any time to prepare and am freaking out!
If you can handle these kinds of questions easily on your own, you should be in pretty good shape... there are some more specific algebraic concepts, geometry, statistics, and data analysis, however, that don’t appear in this particular video (but are covered in the full version of the course).... But if these questions appear easy to you at first sight, my guess is you have a good shot at passing... Best of luck on the test!!

How many questions can I get wrong in order to still pass the TSIa2 math test?
Good question!! We don’t know the exact answer (the makers of the test keep the scoring scale intentionally unclear) but if I had to estimate I would say 14/20 on the first set of 20 questions should be enough to get you a passing score…

how many days should I give myself before taking the TSIA2? how long is the course?
The course is 6 “days” long, from start to finish, around two hours of video instruction for each day, and practice problem sets in between each section… most student can im finish the course in around a week, but many finish sooner depending on the time available to devote to their work each day….
Around 6-7 days total is pretty common, in my estimation…

Here’s what you do: watch the videos. At the end of each “Day” of the course, practice the problem sets in your own, using the strategies I teach you to use in the course! If you don’t remember how to solve one, review the explanation in the video… Once you can answer all the questions in the problem sets on your own, you are ready to take the test!
Two weeks is plenty of time!

Thank you for reaching out! You are not far from passing!! My guess is just 3-4 more questions right out of the first set of 20 and you can get past a 950, no problem!
Just make sure you are practicing the problem sets in between the sections of the course, using the strategies I teach... That will be the key to your success!

Can anyone give me the tips of Diagnostic Level Test
Yes! The Diagnostic section includes 48 questions: 12 from Quantitative Reasoning, 12 from Algebraic Reasoning, 12 from Geometry, and 12 from Probability and Statistics... so it’s a mix basically like the first 20, just more questions...
Don’t give up if you don’t pass the first 20 though - you can still pass if you do well enough on the diagnostic section... You need to think of it as a second chance to pass, because that’s exactly what it is!!

Hi Mr. Toohey, I took the TSIA2 Math and I failed it. I Then took a 5 weeks remedial math class and passed with an A. But now my school is telling me that I still have to take the TSIA2 Math in order to rank for my program. I thought the remedial Math class would override the TSIA2 Math so that I wouldn’t have to take it again. 😞
I’m sorry to hear you still have to pass the test… each school/program has different requirements, but I’m surprised like you that the remedial class wasn’t enough for your program… did they change the requirements?

Is that really a practice test? It has no scoring guide. What score is needed on the actual test, and how can someone gauge what they will score on it?
The questions that appear in this video are from the most recently release TSIA2 Practice Test released by the college board (it’s just a sample of the questions in the video)… a score of 950 is considered passing… it’s unclear how many questions you need to get right out of the first set of 20 to achieve a passing score, but in my estimation something like 14 correct out of 20 should be enough to achieve a passing score. Why TSIA2? I'm nnew and need to take TSIA soon because I'm from other country and had been away from school for 20 years.

Correct! The x value at the y-intercept of any equation/function is ALWAYS 0… just like the y value at any x intercept is always 0… make sense?
@@MichaelToohey The only think that does not make sense really is the second part you said “just like the y value at any x intercept is always 0”
Draw any line on the x-y axis that has an x-intercept… you’ll see that the y-value at that point (on any x-intercept) is alway 0… Try it!
