When I saw Cap tweet about how much he enjoyed this game after he beat it, I knew he would be good for this colab and glad he could do it. Also I really enjoy Twin Dragons as well and 100% agree with the Captain here.
Micro Mages, From Below, Space Gulls, Dungeons and Doomknights, Full Quiet, and the games mentioned in the video Twin Dragons and Legend of Owlia. I have high hopes for Mystic Searches.
Very grateful to have you, the whole video has been such a fun experience and hopefully provides value like you seem to have got to those who watch. Thanks!
Never in my wildest dreams would I think Chumlee would have his own game! I like that the bosses are from the show, that's clever. What an awesome act of love to make a game with your wife with the game Jane Austin. Love the color palette of Ricki and Vicki. Batty Zabella has me sold with the solid underb00b on the cover. Even cooler it's a point and click adventure! RetroRoom is such a great guy too, so I'm glad someone showed off his work. The Cursed Knight is my favorite pick so far, it looks like right up my alley for everything I love in a video game. ChewChew Mimic is a great choice, I love action puzzlers. Super cool that John Riggs is behind it! I like that it has different paths to beat a level. I've never heard of Legends of Owlia but I'm loving the exploration adventure aspect of it. I like that it made you nostalgic for the NES and captured that gaming magic. My buddy actually bought Block 'Em Sock 'Em from Hancock at a convention last year. We tested it out and it's a very solid game. Video games are all about fun and Fall Down seems like it fits that narrative perfectly. Twin Dragons looks like a blast. I love the gameplay of it and Captain is right, there are a lot of terrible licensed games out there, so it's fun to find homebrew titles and support Indie devs. Sonic the Hedgehog and Racoon Mario merged together? Rollie sounds awesome! Thank you for having me on, it was an honor and I discovered a lot of great games on this list.
Dude. This is like the best comment I’ve seen on a video. Appreciate you taking the time to check out the whole thing and give your thoughts on each game. Very cool of you. And thanks for your review of Pigasus!
Goodboy Galaxy on GBA is absolutely one of the best homebrews out there. Maybe the best GBA game to date? It was the #1 game for our top 5 on the New Game Old Flame podcast. Absolutely check this game out!

The second game can be remade with a companion game that has Mark Twain and it could end up being like an NES/FDS version of Abyss X Zero, and I think that it would be a good idea because Mark Twain said a lot of things about Jane Austen, and not good things, namely, "Whenever I take up "Pride and Prejudice" or "Sense and Sensibility," I feel like a barkeeper entering the Kingdom of Heaven. I mean, I feel as he would probably feel, would almost certainly feel. I am quite sure I know what his sensations would be -- and his private comments. He would be certain to curl his lip, as those ultra-good Presbyterians went filing self-complacently along...She makes me detest all her people, without reserve. Is that her intention? It is not believable. Then is it her purpose to make the reader detest her people up to the middle of the book and like them in the rest of the chapters? That could be. That would be high art. It would be worth while, too. Some day I will examine the other end of her books and see. - 'Jane Austen'", "Jane Austen? Why I go so far as to say that any library is a good library that does not contain a volume by Jane Austen. Even if it contains no other book", "To me his prose is unreadable -- like Jane Austin's [sic]. No there is a difference. I could read his prose on salary, but not Jane's. Jane is entirely impossible. It seems a great pity that they allowed her to die a natural death", "Jane Austen's books, too, are absent from this library. Just that one omission alone would make a fairly good library out of a library that hadn't a book in it", and, "I haven't any right to criticize books, and I don't do it except when I hate them. I often want to criticize Jane Austen, but her books madden me so that I can't conceal my frenzy from the reader; and therefore I have to stop every time I begin. Every time I read 'Pride and Prejudice', I want to dig her up and beat her over the skull with her own shin-bone". Yeah, now you know why that game needs to be remade, as well as expanded.
@@TheGameBeatersIts tricky to say. its not 8bit nor ps1 graphics, while powerful enough to do both 2d and 3d small large/projects (re: flappy bird, xenoblade). And its still cheap to purchase. There’s a lot of great games presented by a lot of fantastic creators! Thanks to Dan again for having me on and ‘Hello’ to my fellow creators! (Now, I have some home brews to grab! Except Blockem Sockem cuz I’ve already got that one. 😁😎)
Personally I think the point of homebrew is not only to give people who love the console something new to play feeding into nostalgia in a novel way but also to adhere to the limitations of the platform authentically. Sometimes its the limits we place on something that brings out greatness.
@@TheGameBeaters I get it. I used to love homebrew. But it seems to have travelled full circle. Most people will play homebrew on an emulator, kind of defeating the initial intent.
@@hodeyfu7617 the beauty of it is that while you can play it on emulators you can still go back and play it on the original console. There is a feeling of putting a new game into your original console that just can't be replicated.

Legend of Owlia reminds me of Zelda mixed with, 8 EyEs for the nes
I could see where you could think that.
I recently played ‘The Bouncing Ball’ on my Gameboy, simple, but very enjoyable homebrew game
