Thank you for clarifying this. Many teachers preach the same message of “don’t be afraid to fail”, or they teach this parable means take risks and use what God gave you, and try things, don’t be lazy and use your talents even if you fail. Completely different from your translation. I’m thankful I came across this because many of us don’t know what talents we have and many will start to think they have to take big risks with their job or other situations involving their talents. I’m having a hard time “sharing” the Gospel because friends or family get annoyed and feel judged.
I agree that the idea of the risk taking is really silly BUT you should still share the gospel. I am also shy. Here are a few ideas on how to share the gospel when you are shy. 1) Go out to some hiking trails, gather some rocks. Bring them home, paint them white and then write the gospel or some kind of message leading people to Jesus on it. Then place them back in the park where people will see them along the trail. Want a fun extra? I use glow in the dark paint to add a secret additional message and a cross that charges in the sun during the day but then it can only be seen at night. This is a really cool effect to draw the attention of people who walk at night or early in the morning when it's still dark. Then I pray and ask the Lord to lead the right person to the message. Can you imagine someone who that very day was out walking and thinking and may have gotten to a point in their life where they said "God, if you are real, give me a sign." Then they walk past your rock?? Boom. You just shared the gospel and didn't even have to see the person or speak to them verbally. 2) Make a little message that gives the gospel and maybe a personal message, or even the ABC's of salvation. Then copy and paste that at the bottom of every chat message you have with a tech support before you close out the conversation. You will be sharing the message with a stranger that you never have to be brave and speak face to face. Bonus - Often you will be sharing the gospel with someone from other Countries, such as India, where they are never exposed to the gospel. Many of them are hungry for learning more once they first read it. If you just leave the words "Because you are loved (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV) " you would be surprised how many people will look it up just out of curiosity. Well that's the gospel. 3) Want to try something really brave but can impact so many lives? Change your voice mail greeting to you reading off the gospel or the ABC's of salvation. Then everytime a telemarketer calls or a doctor's office, etc. they hear the gospel. You never know who is making that call and they could be at a point in their lives where they were ready to hear more about Jesus and your voice mail confirms it for them. Right now the world is a mess and people who never wanted to hear about the bible before are more open to learning now because they sense something is very wrong in the world and they want answers. 4) Has God done a miracle in your life or in the life of someone you know? Share that miracle in the comments sections of big youtube channels or Twitter accounts. God healed me of kidney failure when I was on the brink of death and there was no hope medically. The doctors couldn't explain it. I share that any chance I can. I even posted my story underneath the Twitter account of Elon Musk just because so many people would see it. God also healed my father after he had been in a car accident and had such severe bleeding on the brain that the surgeon didn't think he would make it through surgery. The lady in the room next to him was also not expected to make it. Her family was fighting in the waiting room. My husband went up to them and asked if he could pray with them for their mother. They did. All of them stopped fighting and we all prayed together for both my dad and their mother. They both pulled through. My dad's surgeon said he has never in his whole life seen someone with the amount of bleeding on the brain as my dad had, survive the surgery let alone wake up. That was several years ago and he is now 90 and doing great. The other lady was released too and recovered. Before they left the Ukranian family gathered together with my husband and they were all singing Christian hymns in the lobby. I share that story any chance I can. That way, it can increase the faith in whoever hears it. If you have not had something like this in your life, feel free to share my story. Maybe it will help someone out there get saved and it will be because you shared the love of Jesus with them. I hope this helps anyone who reads it. I am very shy. I was abused my whole childhood. But because Jesus saved me and gives me strength, I am able to speak to strangers this way. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Time is short. Jesus is coming soon. God bless you!
Thank you so much brother. I believe once saved always saved but had a condemnation feeling about the bema seat of Christ. I share the gospel with everyone I can bring it up with but I still mess up with sin and I just had a dread of all my works for Christ getting burned up and having nothing to show Jesus. Not even about rewards but just don’t want Him to look at me with disappointment I haven’t done more
A friend of mine said he was taught by a [false] teacher this parable directly related to who would be considered the Bride of Christ and who would be taken in the pre-trib rapture and who would be left behind. I told him that would be a works-based assumption of which Christian was better than which Christian ; but the truth is our righteousness is 100% imputed to us by God the moment we sre saved. I told him that when God looks at each of us, He sees the righteousness of Jesus, which is perfect. I also told him this teacher improperly applied the parable to mean what he wanted it to mean...which was only those 100% sold out to Jesus and producing maximum works and devotion to the Lord would be counted worthy! Not the Gospel of Grace and a false teaching. This so grieves my heart my friend can't see this or understand it and keeps running back to these false teachers and buys everything they say.
Thank you brother I always struggled with that one Even at bible study it was spoke with fear And come away unsure Love and peace to you in Jesus name from steve in England ✝️
This is the BEST explanation on this parable I have ever heard. I have heard in churches that the talent was spiritual gifts ,and works, but I couldn't accept that b/c salvation is by faith and not works. I have always believed the talents were the Gospel and we invest in it by sharing it freely. Thank you for posting this. I am teaching on this parable in Bible Study this week and I checked on RUclips to see if there was anyone who believed the same......I couldn't believe how many bought into the "gifts" and "works" theory, then I saw yours, YES, it was like a breath of fresh air! Thank you.
I have recently realized that talents refers to Gods Word, not only the Gospel, so i agree with that part. However investing talents is NOT sharing the Gospel. If it was, then your going back to works. He lost his salvation because he didn't share? Investing talents means applying God's Word to our lives. Like God told israel, if you obey My Word, you will reap blessing. That is the return on investment, the blessing that we reap. And not only that, but we also grow in knowledge of the Lord and His Word when we apply it to our lives. That's also a return on the investment. So it means believing and applying it into our lives.
It's hard to see how the servants could be given different amounts of the Gospel, do you think it could be more about faith, or faith in the Gospel that the talents refer to?
Apologies, let me clarify so there’s no confusion. I’m not saying they got different amounts of the Gospel. I’m talking about what they did with the gospel with how many opportunities got put in front of them. For example, let’s say you and I both heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have a choice. We can invest in that gospel or we can bury it. Let’s say I was an unbeliever. I certainly would not share the gospel with anyone. I would bury it. I would one day hear the words ‘‘You worthless, lazy slave!’ And let’s say God put 5 opportunities in front of you and you invested in the gospel by sharing it with each of them. You would hear the words ‘‘Well done, good and faithful slave.’ No doubt if you were faithful with those five opportunities God would put more opportunities in front of you. I understand some people want to make this about a bunch of works. But that is not the context of what we are reading in chapter 25. The core context is about the kingdom of heaven, not things we are doing here on planet earth. We see this in verse 1 of chapter 25. 'Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to....'. And right before we get into the parable of the talents we read a stern warning about being prepared because no one knows the day or the hour. In fact, there are multiple parables before the parable of the talents. Each one of them is talking about the gospel. No doubt God’s heart is that we would have good works as we exude the love of Jesus. But above all God’s heart is that we would believe the gospel and that none would perish.
@@jesuswithoutreligion No, we can't. Jesus prayed for unity in John 17 not relativism. One of us is in violation of Matthew 18:15-18 and since Jesus said he would be with his church always and guide to all truth, you can't just come up with your own new interpretation 2000 years later from the one Jesus had already revealed to be correct.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think for this parable, "grace" is the symbol for the talents. The context is about judgment day coming so we must be prepared like the wise virgins. In verse 29: for to everyone who has will more be given. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. Grace is the gift of God undeserved. It's given to everyone but not equally. The ones that are not fruitful, did not believe and lived by it, will be taken away and be judged accordingly.
I think we’re on the same page but just to be sure……. I believe more accurately the symbol for the talents is simply each time the gospel was shared. As far as individually being prepared, as believers, we could not be any more prepared. We are as prepared as we will ever be. Those that are unbelievers should learn from the wise virgins. What I need to learn is that they need to believe in order to be prepared. God’s grace to all humans is not given equally. But it is available to anyone who will ask for it, in faith. God’s grace to all who believe in Jesus is given equally. ALL Christians are fruitful. The fruit examined is the fruit of the spirit, living in us, not the works of a human. The Scriptures literally tell us that a good tree can NOT produce bad fruit.
No Christian will ever be judged. The Scriptures are very clear about that, saying the one who believes is not judged - John 3:18.
@@jesuswithoutreligion Yes I agree with what you said. 👍 It all fits well,.. Except that part where I think gospel does not fit very well, in verse 29, which is kind of the conclusion of that section. We cannot have more gospel if we already received it. Talents here are suggested to be quantifiable/countable. Isn't it? 🤔 I'm not really good in expressing my thoughts 😅. Sorry brother if I bothered you in any way.
@@2BelieveIs2See The talents are more like more gospel sharing opportunities. So one guy did not invest in sharing the gospel but just buried it. Thursday invest in it they will have more opportunities ;)
@@jesuswithoutreligion I never thought of it this way, that talents means sharing the gospel. It does make a lot of sense. I will however take this to the Lord and ask him for confirmation to verify it if this is correct
@@2BelieveIs2See When reading parables be careful with making every little part into something spiritual... Sometimes we can get so caught up in trying to analyze every little piece that we miss the overall symbolism... I have to remind myself to read all parables in the light of the Gospel as a whole... So the first mistake with this parable is to make it about good works sustaining our salvation... IF that's the case then how can that line up with Ephesians 2:5-9 and the overall message of the salvation as a free gift... It's not free if you can lose it because you didn't do enough to earn it... See how crazy this gets.... SO immediately we have to throw out our natural inclination to make this about earning salvation by doing a really good job.... That is not the Gospel.. We all know that... So throw out the tendency to be religious and read it with a new set of eyes... It simply has to be about receiving or rejecting the Gospel, nothing else would fit with the Doctrines of Grace and obtaining salvation before you have ever even done any work good or bad.... The thief believed and was saved... He didn't get water baptized and certainly had no bank account of good works, he simply believed... That's why Jesus gave us the thief as an example of how simple the Gospel is... Those that are saved will do good works and some will do more then others but all born again believers will produce... It's a fact, and if they aren't producing to God's satisfaction, He will discipline His children and prune them, so they can produce more good fruit...
The Lord is interested in our faith and trusting in Him. But as servants of Christ (to serve) we were entrusted with furthering His kingdom. In example: spreading the gospel, being an example to the world, feeding the hungry and thirsty, caring for the sick, helping the widows and the fatherless or orphans, praying, etc. These are some of the things, Christ had done during his ministry.
You won’t get any pushback from me that it is God's heart that we exude the love of Christ as we indeed do things such as feeding the hungry, helping the sick, etc. Those are all natural parts of the Christian life. However, I think it’s important to note that God doesn’t ‘Need’ us to get those things done. He’s God. Fully sufficient. Acts 17:25 tells us that “God has not served by human hands as if he needed anything”. Of course, that is not to imply that we should just be a bunch of doormats and do nothing. We will be most fulfilled when we live out our identity. Letting Jesus live in and through us is very fulfilling. I just think it’s important that people understand that serving is not some kind of a commandment or means of getting more love and kindness from God. Serving is simply a way of letting Christ work in and through you. I write about topics like this because there are too many lifeless churches that are over emphasizing works. So much so that people can’t even focus on Jesus because you’re too jacked up I’m wondering if they ‘did enough’ to please God. It is very uncomfortable being around people like that, and when overdone it can take our heart's affections off of Jesus.
So basically overall Talent means anything that is given to you from God witch is good we must invest in it could be money, his words, the fruits of the Spirit, HALLYLUJAH and so on...spread ( invest) is Talent to the world, HALLYLUJAH teach it, preach it, prophezise it, HALLYLUJAH and in order to do when he gives a little TALENT invest to make more so you can do his works preach, teach feed hunger so on..HALLYLUJAH
Almost. Talents simply refer to the gospel. Some people invest in it (by believing it and sharing it) others bury it in the ground (by rejecting it). This has nothing to do with money or the spiritual gifts we have.
I think the parable is saying that if you aren’t faithful to God then you aren’t going heaven AND this is because if you were saved then you WOULD be living for God and be faithful to him.
Re: you wrote 'if you aren’t faithful to God then you aren’t going heaven' Then that would fly in the face of: “when YOU area faithless, I WILL REMAIN faithful” 2- Timothy 2:13 “I will NEVER leave you or forsake you” - Hebrews 13:5 We are not saved by our faithfulness. We are saved by HIS faithfulness. I think we can agree that one is going to hell. i.e. vs 30 And throw the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. BUT, the others are all going to heaven. God was clearly pleased with them.
No. “little’ is not referring to a little of the gospel. It’s referring to the number of opportunities to share (invest in) the gospel. Note: Even though the word was ‘little’ , the Father is indeed very pleased. It’s not about quantity. It’s about quality.
Need to make a correction, at around 5:52 mark you say the evil one comes like a thief in the night. I'm hoping it was a slip, and didn't mean for it to come out that way. Jesus said he will come as a thief in the night, scripture does not say evil will come like a thief.
Thank you. Yep, you are correct. It would appear I got a little tongue twisted trying to drum up my memory of that verse. Thanks again for pointing that out.
Hello, and thanks for your comment. You asked “If the talent is the gospel, why would God divide it into portions?” First, the question you asked seems to suggest that you are forgetting that this is a parable. Also, are we not all presented with portions of people to share the gospel with? Maybe one guy meets 100 people, and another guy 1000 people? But we all have different portions of opportunity. But as far as portions go…. Let’s say God and trusted you and a man named Joe to share the gospel. Perhaps God puts 10 people in front of you, and 10 people in front of Joe. Assume that you share the gospel with all 10 of them. Nice! Now let’s assume that Joe, the worthless, lazy slave, who has heard this message about Jesus, well, he doesn’t really believe it, so he doesn’t share it with anyone. So the portion that was presented to him has no return on it because he doesn’t invest in them. Joe, the worthless slave, will be thrown into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. I think this is very easy to see and you don’t have to engage in mental gymnastics to see it.
Whatever the parables is saying is in regards to being of USE to God & in the following verse, the scripture has deliberately used the word “SLOTHFUL & Wicked”...why? Why the slothful & wicked servants ended up weeping & gnashing in outer darkness for never spreading the gospel if hypothetically I were to assume that using the Talents means Spreading the gospel. A real believer shall bring Fruits & the useless Lukewarm folks are spitted out because they didn’t walked the Talk. They were lip service believers who were too ashamed to confess of Christ before other people. The message is straight forward & it aligns perfectly with scripture. God’s will is that we do SOMETHING & our ACTION proves if our Faith is real indeed☝🏾... Don’t be deceived by leaning on your own understanding but meditate on the WORD 🙏 The 5 foolish virgins were sleeping & drowsy 💤 too which signify their Faith. They were saying lord lord & that means they were in the lukewarm category too. Why would unbelievers anticipate & hope for bridegroom’s arrival? So they’re not unbelievers ❌ & oil means our Faith✅ God will refuse to accept People who profess with lips 👄 alone but the kind whose ACTIONS tells otherwise. Where is their Faith??? Hello!!!! Didn’t Christ told us not to be only hearer of Words but a DOER !!!!!☝🏾????? Action is our Fruit & we thus we judge a 🌲 tree by it’s fruit. God bless everyone...
Agree to disagree. I do not see the biblical support for anything you just shared. Consistent with that when you use the term ‘Lukewarm’ that is a common distortion and complete misunderstanding of Revelation 3.
@@jesuswithoutreligion Are you sure? Please ponder 🤔 on it & I understand if you disagree but think very carefully why God used the word slothful & wicked. It ain’t walk in the park to be a Christian because we have responsibility with such treasures we got from God to use them accordingly.
@@silvertenzin Wait. We are not on the same page. Sorry. You are referring to verse 26. I clearly and without any exception stated that verse 26 was referring to an unbeliever. Did you watch the video? If so I'm not sure how you walk away with any other conclusion. And yes, the parable is about sharing the gospel. Believers hear the gospel and invest in it. And I think we have to commit intellectual suicide to say that there are not people who hear the gospel and reject it, and consequently do not invest in it. There’s not a single case in all of Scripture where the word ‘wicked’ refers to a believer. If you are born of God, in order for you to be wicked, you would have to assume that God gives birth to wicked children. It does that mean we don’t do stupid things. We do. But we are not wicked. We have new hearts that are good. Again God has never referred to a believer as wicked. But I tell you what he does call us. He calls us: Blameless Saints Justified Royal Priesthood Children Sanctified Holy Redeemed Friend New creation Temple of God Righteous One With Christ Chosen Forgiven However, I am going to disagree with your comment about Christianity not being a walk in the park. I’m not sure why people want to paint Christianity as a difficult chore or need to get out of their comfort zone. Being a Christian is very simple. Simply love others. Exude Jesus. People that want to turn on Christianity into some over the top you better get your butt busy go way too far and turn people off. Jesus is very clear, his yoke is easy and his burden is light. Because it’s not about what you do and how responsible you are, but rather it’s about recognizing what Jesus did. I am in no way suggesting that Christians should not have good works. Of course, we should. But that’s just as living out our identity. But I do not subscribe to this idea that ‘you better get out there and get busy or God’s going to get you’ theology. There’s just no scriptural basis for that. I want to close with something that may be controversial to people in non-Grace-based churches. While I am absolutely PRO WORKS, the fact remains that if a believer never read a Bible, never went to church, and never share the gospel even one time, they would still be loved and adored by God just as much as you and I. they would receive just as much grace and forgiveness as you and I. And if anyone pushes a different message, they are pushing a works-based theology, and it is a slap in the face of Jesus Christ and all that he did for us.
@@jesuswithoutreligion but didnt Jesus tell us that we have to abide, be a part of the vine. If not, the branch is cut off and thrown in the fire? We need the bible for growth, food and filling of holy spirit otherwise we wont have enough oil
@@rosaliethomas5812 re: abide. The word abide does not be do, or late in anyway to any human effort. Abide simply means 'live'. For example I abide in Virginia. Jesus abides (lives) in us and we abide in Him. And there's not a single Christian that does not abide in Christ. Because this is about a location not about us bragging about our human works. Re: The bible is the greatest book in the world. I love it and read if often. However, we do NOT need it to grow or for food. For hundreds and hundreds of years questions did not have a bible, and the grew and were nourished just fine. In fact most of them could not even read, let alone on a Bible. We do not grow because we log hours into a book. We grow because Jesus lives in us. He grows us. Many people are obsessed thinking that the way we grow as Christians is by memorizing Bible verses. Our ability to repeat scriptures is not what makes us better Christians. No shortage of mean people who could repeat most of the Bible. We grow as Christians by knowing Jesus. Exuding His love. :)
@Jesus Without Religion 🙂This was good. Thanks. I've found an ENDLESS supply of hell-bound heretics online who believe & teach that we are saved & stay saved by OUR obedience to Christ PLUS our belief in Him. But scripture states we are saved by the obedience of One... and we're not that One - Jesus is. Even my pastor was teaching works. And then my new pastor. The tares don't seem to recognize that there is NONE good but God, no not one! And sin is defined as transgressing the law, which means when false Bibles add "of your sins" to the word repent (as in repent "of your sins" & believe the gospel TO BE SAVED) that means keep the law for salvation. The 10 Commandments is the Moral Law! And keeping the law is defined as works of the law. And scripture warns "Christ is of NO EFFECT to you, those of you who seek to be justified by works of the law." YIKES!!! Repent "of your sins" & believe the gospel damns souls... because it's works salvation disguised as obedience! "Lord, Lord... didn't we do many wonderful WORKS in Your name???" "Depart from Me, I NEVER knew you!" It's sinful & even blasphemous to do anything other than trust Christ for salvation, hence why they were called "you who work iniquity" at the end of that verse. Besides, scripture states that we are to turn from sin to present our bodies as "living sacrifices to the Lord, which is our REASONABLE SERVICE" - not to save ourselves! Even Christ said, "If you LOVE Me, keep My commandments." The tares want to work for Heaven & scriptures say it's because of pride. So, pray for them. These online heretics need to be corrected publicly, marked & avoided.
You need faith working through love to be saved because faith alone is dead. You can have faith to move mountains but if you have not love you have nothing

How can the talents be the Gospel when the servant with 5 and 2 talents 'traded' and 'made more? How can you trade and make more concerning the Gospel?
First, I think it’s important to keep in mind that this is a parable. I don't believe we've gotta make absolute perfect sense out of everything, and quite honestly, that's not even possible with the parable. But if I share the gospel with you and a friend named Dave, and both of you are saved, that would be two people saved. And if you turn around and share the gospel with one other person who gets saved, then, as a result of me sharing the gospel saved, it ends up leading to three people who are saved. Too many people want to turn a parable into works. Indeed, we are made for good works in Christ, however, God is not served by human hands as if he needed anything-Acts 17:25. The one who works has already been credited what he deserves, but the one who does not work but believes, is credited as righteous-Rom 4:4-5. This is the work, that pleases God, that you believe-John 6:29. I guess I'm saying that while works are important, they are not even a fraction of a percent as important to God as us believing and being saved, through faith.
Hey bro, can you tell me or make a video on this passage > Mathew 10:36 , “those of your own house hold would be your enemies”. Also Mathew: 19:29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. Is Jesus expecting me to leave my family? Is this what he is saying please help ?
Mathew 10:36: First, keep in mind this is being taught to JEWS. Jews who will FIRMLY choose the law and temple sacrifices over Jesus. What's happening here in Matthew 10 is Jesus is saying, when some of you receive me, your family will reject you. Fathers will reject thier on sons, moms will reject daughters, etc. Also, if anyone would reject Jesus so their brother, sister, mom, etc won't be upset with them, then they are not worthy of Jesus. That's the context. Matthew 19 is on par with that. The 'hundred times' we get from leaving our family is referring to those that received salvation. The reward is NOT because they left their family. It's not about what they left. but rather who they left for. Jesus! :)
There’s still a missing piece for me, if he says “ I knew you were a harsh man” then he knows him. How does that tie in? He knows him. Help me that’s the only piece I’m struggling with lol.
Hi Sarah! I don’t think he ‘knows’ him in the same sense that you know Jesus. Note: He did not say he knows Jesus/God, but rather he said he know he’s harsh. So, he’s saying he knows his personality. I know Hitler was a monster (his personality), but I never knew Him personally. Make sense?
@@jesuswithoutreligion yes, and after I wrote this message I realized what was said right after. That he basically was saying,” if that’s the truth, that you thought I was a harsh man, than why wouldn’t you put my money to the bank so I could earn money” basically he called the guys bluff, saying ,” that’s an excuse.” So it could be like on judgement day where people may make excuses for their lack of faith and he basically calls them out. Sounds like the guy was trying to pass the buck. 🤷🏻♀️ Thank you for your response too!!
The funny part is I was struggling with this part of the parable for months. I just kept saying,” Jesus, make it make sense. “ Then I finally got it lol thank you again.
It means ‘work out’ what’s already been ‘worked in’. In other words, the God of the universe lives in you. If we actually grasp that to its fullest we would certainly have an awe or a natural fear and trembling. And the point is that He lives in you, and let him live in and through you. Note: The verse you cited does NOT say work FOR your salvation.
Our Wednesday bible study covered this tonight and i got so thoroughly confused i couldn't get home fast enough to study some more in a less confusing environment. I have a bad habit of reading ahead because the group tends to stop at the end of each verse and talk about it, expound on it or sometimes go in a completely different direction in relation to another verse....so i kinda tune the chatter out and read instead. So my confusion sprang up when i swear i heard a couple of members say that there WILL be works after the King returns. And that just didnt make sense. Works? After the rapture? What works? If all the sheep are called home, who are we ministering to?? Anyway, i was flummoxed and turned on my head because it seemed like i didnt know what I thought I knew..
An important distinction about works is ‘will there be works’, and if so ‘do they save us’ or ‘earn us rewards’? Yes, it’s natural for Christians to have works. That’s nothing more than a picture of Jesus living in and through us, exuding his love. None of us are denying the importance of works. We are made for good works. But we are not being given additional rewards or being saved according to the level of our outward human works. The reward we ALL get is the inheritance of the kingdom. Salvation only comes to faith, apart from works. Lakeland religion wants to term works into something that Christians must do to receive love and forgiveness and acceptance from God. The gospel tells us we have received that through faith. The Scriptures tell us ‘God is not served by human hands as if he needed anything’. We do not serve God because were helping him out. We do good things because God has poured his love in us, it is only natural to pour it on other people.
The rapture isn't just not biblical, its a very new man made heresy that the Holy Spirit led no Christians to believe for the first 1800+ years of Christianity
For this to be a born again person doing works to maintain salvation you would have to be preaching a whole different Gospel and remove Ephesians 2:5-10
Romans 10:9 NIV [9] If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
There are two types of servants in this parable. Servants to Christ, and servants to the evil one. Why would a servant of Jesus hear 'And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
PS just some added thought…. As we read the Old Testament typically talents referred to “talents of gold/silver”. And we know that God is not teaching us about money in this parable. Consider this: Rewind a few verses. MATTHEW 24:32-41. Jesus begins by talking about a parable of the fig tree. This parable is about heaven and making clear that no one knows when that day will come. The idea is that we need to recognize that he is near, right at the door, so today if we hear his voice we should answer and call on Jesus to save us. Then fast forward to chapter 25. Nope with Jesus just finished saying before immense in the parable of the talents. He had just said ‘But he answered, ‘Truly I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 Be on the alert then, because you do not know the day nor the hour’. At no point does Jesus change the context. We may give it a new chapter, but this is the same event. As Jesus begins talking about the parable of the 10 virgins, in the very first sentence he told us that this parable was what the “kingdom of heaven” was like. The parable of the talents is just a continuation and another example of the kingdom of heaven. Jesus never changed the subject matter. He has not one time talked about our performance or works. After all these parables about the kingdom of heaven, he concludes by talking about what happens to those that do not respond. He immediately moves into discussing judgment and eternal punishment. Matthew 25:3-46. I hope that clarifies a little more. Thanks for sharing your comments.
@@jesuswithoutreligion I had a feeling that this verse doesn’t talk about losing salvation because there is no contradiction in the gospel. I think of the parable of the talents as based on the believer and non believer. Keep in mind that without faith we cannot profit god. We are worthless without believing. Keep in mind that god calls the servant UNPROFITABLE. Meaning that the servant cannot profit him which means that the servant doesn’t believe. The other 2 believed and because of their belief, they used the talents and pleased the master. We cannot please god if we don’t believe. That’s what I use to understand that this is about the nonbelievers
@@redtedgamer8692 we are in agreement there. I actually stated that in the video. There is no getting around it that this is about believers and unbelievers. The unbeliever was the third guy. The one who did not invest in the gospel because he did not believe in the gospel. He himself did not invest in his own soul. And as verse 30 tells us "throw the worthless slave into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth".
Sure. 1 Corinthians 3:10 reads 'According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds on it.' The foundation Paul is building is the gospel of Christ. Then and even today once someone hears the good news of Jesus other people come behind and teach them more. Some people keep the foundation based on Jesus alone. Other people try to incorrectly bill on the gospel by adding in Works based matters such as you must be water baptized, You need to tithe, You need to have a Works, You need to keep the law, etc etc. What Paul is teaching us here is that the foundation must be on Jesus and Jesus alone. People need to be careful about building onto the gospel. The context of this letter is about sharing the gospel. When we don't build onto it the result of sharing the gospel is salvation. The context of the word 'Reward' In this letter is referring to sharing the gospel and someone inheriting eternal salvation. What greater reward Is there than saving someone from eternal damnation? You will notice later Paul goes on to talk about some people's work being burned up and then suffering loss (vs 14). In context, Paul Is describing someone Who believes in Jesus (so they will be saved) But when they share the gospel they're sharing incorrectly. Most likely because they don't fully understand it due to other confusing messages they have been taught. That is their work that is being burned up. The loss if someone is not here and the true message of Christ crucified and assets are at times not being saved. We see this a lot with Pentecostal churches. Instead of talking about Saved by faith alone, they have this message that you better talk in tongues if you want to be saved. So we end up seeing a bunch of people faking it because they think that's what they need to do to get saved. There's even usually a few people flopping all over the ground as if this were some experience that was necessary for salvation. So this group oftentimes is focusing on some man-made experience when the message needs to be solely on the foundation of Jesus Christ, the cross, his resurrection, and Salvation to believing that. There are of course many other examples that I could give you. Anytime someone is teaching a message about salvation and they add on anything other than faith, they are incorrectly building onto the foundation of Jesus Christ.
@@jesuswithoutreligion thank you for this! So the people that believe in Jesus are still saved even though they incorrectly build on the gospel and say you also need works to be saved along with jesus? So why did jesus say those people will be the people he will claim he never knew when they call to him on judgement day saying Lord Lord I did all these works in your name. Those people seem to go to hell and it seems like they are not save, Because they trusted there works but they seem to have still believed in jesus because they did things in his name? I dont know that confusing to me. I hope what I said makes sense.
@@jblover2009 Yes, there are people who have some pretty messed up theologies because they’ve been taught wrong, but yes as long as they believe in Jesus they are indeed saved. The people Jesus said he never knew are not people who just had messed up theologies. The people Jesus never ‘knew’ are people that never actually believed in him. When we read those verses that you’re talking about what we discovered is these people are pounding their chest bragging about what they did for God. A true believer would never be jacked up on what they do, but rather they are going to be jacked up on what Jesus did for them. But for Jesus to say he NEVER knew you, it’s for him to say there was never a time in your entire life that you actually believed in him. It’s important to focus on that word never. It’s not like there was a time where they were Christians who knew Jesus, and then later started messing up. But rather there was never a time that they were Christians.
@@jesuswithoutreligion I don't see anywhere where it says we are saved by faith. I do however see in Ephesians that it says we are saved BY GRACE through faith, & not of works. But James talks about justification by faith that is dead without works, faith being made perfect with works (James2:21,22&24), therefore I believe justification and salvation are two different things.
@@jesuswithoutreligion Matt7:23. Jesus said to those who prophesied in his name etc that he never knew them. Surely those who cast out devils etc MUST have believed in him, you cannot prophesy & cast out devils except you believe in him and that God is with you. But Jesus said to them, "I never KNEW you". When Adam "knew" Eve it was talking about physical union. When Jesus says I never knew you, it is surely talking about never had that spiritual union of the mind, soul & body, of intimate spiritual intercourse. Song of Solomon surely throws some light on this idea of a beautiful love relationship with God.. not just going through the christian obligatory motions. Those who did the will of the Father would surely mean those who loved their enemies, blessed those who cursed them, prayed for them who despitefully used them etc, not just did the WORKS (prophesied etc).
As you stated "in Context" this goes back to the 3rd Question the Disciples as Jesus in Matthew 24:3 KJV the "end of this [the] World"? Where does Jesus answer this question in Matthew 24 ? This is why u can’t read one verse and then explain it. You learn this in English class but for some reason ppl forget everything they learn in grade school when it comes to gods word smh. These verse can cause anxiety guilt condemnation if not read in context
I fail to understand why Jesus would say to the believer "watch therefore, for you know neither the day or the hour" if the unwise virgins represent unbelievers. If a believer has the Holy Spirit (oil), why is there a warning to the believer to watch?
Then why does the Bible say “faith without woks is dead”James 2;14-26. And God gives us all gifts in measurement with our faith Romans 12;3:8. That correlates with talents. I agree that God doesn’t take away your talents or gifts, but the parable tells us that happens when our Lord comes back for final judgment. On that day, there will be no mercy not even for someone who thought they knew Jesus. Remember the verse when he said “Depart from me I never knew you.”
That is an excellent question in one we should all be asking. And the answer is people have misunderstood the context of James‘s letter. I have a longer explanation but here’s a three minute explanation of what he was actually saying ruclips.net/video/QhKxPTXAEIg/видео.html
Am I wrong to think that the talents is our response to the gospel. Being those who believe and receive and those who dont and reject it. I believe it is much more than sharing it. The word says we are epistles to be read of all men. We know sharing the word can convert but little attention is on the fact that the effect the word has on believers so much so that it shows through your character. Sometimes that can be the biggest witness for some who knew us BC and after Christ. Notice the bible says they will know you but your fruits, they knew they were followers of Christ for the love they show one to another. I do believe that the ones who had received the talents and multiplied them were those who heard and accepted Christ in their hearts and the one who buried the talent is those who rejected Christ ABSOLUTELY because 1 he viewed God as a hard man, he believed his master as one who takes things unfairly. This screams how the world views God. They blame him for deaths of babies, hurricanes destruction calling them acts of God, hearing the word they believe it will require from them things they feel they cant do or that God will take from them things of value. What a huge misconception of who he is. When I had my encounter with God that was my argument when his spirit bid me to open my heart and invite him in. I told him I cant live that life. I was married to an unbeliever and had a life of partying ect. That love I felt for me was so powerful I wanted to open my heart but believed God would want more from me I was incapable of giving. How wrong I was. I just said OK God and instantly the love that was coming for me went in me and it was so powerful it lit me up like a Road Runner on a case of Red Bull to express the love I had pouring from me towards everyone I seen in whatever ways I could find but always to give. This is how God is. He came not to take but rather give and I have known him no other way. The response in that verse shows that the one who buried did not know him. When it says you knew I was a hard man was not stating his perception of his Lord to be that but that rather if he had perceived him as hard then wouldnt you had known better than to bury. So if not accept him understanding God expressed his love through Christ for eternal peace with joy than accept him for the fear of facing eternal judgement and his wrath upon the unbelieving. Also many believe the gospel is a life of rules ,restrictions ,sacrifices, their efforts to live perfect, work work work, which has caused many to reject him. This slothful servant represents so many who have heard the gospel and rather than believing in what was accomplished through Jesus and receive him into their heart they either completely reject the truth or SOME (religious ) hear and still reject it thinking it can be earned through fleshly efforts of law keeping, and falsely pure living. Those who hear the truth and respond just shy of surrender to accepting him in their heart are those who believe the messege but base their faith on their ability to fulfill all the requirements under the old covenant through the law, relying on a head knowledge of God rather than to know him and be known of him, is still rejecting Christ. No one can ever know him this way. To know him comes from intimacy with the truth, being filled with his spirit. This is why in the end he says depart I never knew you. I have experienced this myself. There is a difference from knowing scriptures and to be possessed by the truth and KNOW it/HIM. when I was a little girl I read the bible and would pray , went to church as often as I could but when I was in my 20s driving on the way to work I searched the radio for the news because in the 80s we were threatened being involved in a war with Libia. I was afraid. Strange though that morning getting ready I started singing amazing grace. It's strange because I lived my life trying to ignore thoughts of God, I ran from him. I did drugs and all manner of sin. I can see now that the Holy Spirit was calling me even before heading out to work. So when I got in the highway and turned my radio to a christian station I thought well even Christian stations have the news so I left it there. I couldnt find another station that wasnt playing music except that christian station. I remember it was either Copeland or Kenneth Hagan reading about David and Goliath. All of a sudden OH I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS AS LONG AS I LIVE...my car was filled with God's presence. It was so powerful. The only way I can describe it is there was this love powerful overwhelming, so powerful that i knew i was completely loved, every cell of my body, every hair on my body, who i was I was without question COMPLETELY PROFOUNDLY LOVED BEYOND ANYONE OR THING OR EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, more than the love of my parents, husband, take all the love I had experience for myself from every person I had in my life and those in my past and times that by a million. What I've done in my life whether good or bad had zero impact on it. This love was greater than all greater than myself any other and completely independent of myself. This love for me was based completely on the one showing it to me than any human ability to earn or deserve and yet it/HE was there asking if I would accept. Btw this was so powerful I remember white light all around me. I knew it was God. That was absolutely certain. I asked him to hold on and wait for me to pull the car over to park as i could no longer drive under this . Parked car and let me tell you I 100% wanted him. Like i often tell him to know him is to love him. But i did have concerns but they weren't even close to influence me to reject him. Matter of fact it was more about my inability to live the life i believed would be required of me. And i told him, what about this life i had, my marriage to a nonbeliever, this environment of drugs ect..but none of that mattered compared to him. I knew it wouldnt be about me or what i could do or offer just like the love he showed me had nothing to do with me but everything to do with who he is. It was no rehersed prayer, it was a simple surrender and 2 words OK God. Lol I was filled with his Holy spirit and the word I learned as a child became completely different. It became alive in me or rather it made me alive. I began to be taught by him that in one scripture there is an ocean of profound wisdom unlike anything I have ever read. No this was him and I knowing each other intimately. Through his grace knowing the truth the truth knowing me pulling things out of me that were no longer a part of who I was in him, searching the depths of my spirit pulling me deeper in his and being possessed by it HIM. WOW THERE REALLY ISNT ANYTHING LIKE IT AND WITHOUT QUESTION I HAD NOTHING TO LOSE BUT EVERYTHING TO GAIN. my life for his. Honestly I found I didnt know the beauty in living unto him. I cant say enough about this except for me it is obvious the difference here in this passage to know the truth and to be known of it HIM
So, I’ve given you my take on it, but to be perfectly honest with you, I don’t think there’s anything wrong if you disagree with my position on talents. Of course, the way we interpret parables will absolutely drive how we view God. My advice to everyone is to ask yourself if your view of the parable lines up with very direct and clear understanding of the scriptures. I’m big on sharing the gospel. I’m more than likely to do it far more than the vast majority of Christian leaders do. Although I do not believe the Scriptures put pressure on us to do this. What we are called to do is simply be prepared to give an account of the hope that lies within us. There should not be some event that causes us distress or to feel fearful that we might not do it enough. [1 Peter 3:15] being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect; I would put special emphasis on the descriptive words gentleness and respect. I would also point out there are no threats anywhere in scripture that demand you to share the gospel or risk some type of punishment. It’s simply not there. Indeed they will know us by our fruits. But the fruits are not referring to a bunch of outward human works. It’s specifically referring to the inward work from the fruit of the spirit. Love. Gentleness. Kindness, etc. I think it’s very shaky ground when we start trying to turn the fruit of the spirit into the work of men. And please don’t hear what I’m not saying. I’m not saying we’re not called to share the gospel on the good news of Christ. We absolutely are. What I am saying is we do not need to be measuring it. Perhaps 5 people will ask me about the hope I have, if they do I will be prepared to give an account, and I will do it gently and with respect. I’m just trying to say we need to be careful that we don’t turn something as beautiful as sharing the gospel into some type of stressful legal pad of you better share the gospel this many times or else…. I may have missed some of your comments as it was more than I had time to read today. I believe I got through about half of it. If you by chance have a specific question or comment it would be easier to take them in chunks.
I found out what the talent is and your really close but Incorrect slightly I'll share it with you soon probably next month And then you can be saved at that time
Hey man! Hope you’re having a good day! If you’re preaching and teaching to people you need to be a little more careful on quoting scripture . I see your heart, and I believe you have good intentions but you miss quoted and mixed up some scripture. For example at 5:53 you said the evil one will come like a thief in the night, but it’s actually the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. (1 Thessalonians 5:2) Have a blessed day!
My friend I agree. It just proves were all human. Sometimes we make mistakes, especially when we are producing videos on the fly. I am perfectly comfortable acknowledging that I misspoke there. :)
Once saved always saved is a false doctrine that will result in many people ending up in Hell. 20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. 21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. 22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.” 2 Peter 2:20-22 How can an unsaved person escape the pollutions of this world through Jesus Christ? Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons 1 Timothy 4:1 How can an unsaved person be a part of the faith? How can they depart from it?
My friend, you have much to learn about the gospel. As I see it now, you don’t really trust Jesus. I’m not saying you don’t believe in Jesus for that you’re not saved, I’m saying you don’t trust him for your salvation. You don’t believe that he will NEVER leave you or forsake you. You don’t believe that when you are faithless he will REMAIN faithful. You don’t believe God when he said we would have eternal salvation, because ‘eternal’ means without an end, and apparently, you think God would be quick to revoke it. Even if it were you walking away, that would still have an end. Something cannot be eternal if there's any way it can end. At the core, you don’t actually believe that he died for your sins. Because if you did, you would not be opening up a discussion about losing salvation. That statement alone confirms that your confidence is in your own performance, not his. You don't believe we can be born again, because if you did, you would not be suggesting that we would suddenly be unborn. You don't believe we are children of God, because if you did you wouldn't suggest that you could wake up another morning and have been put up for adoption to Satan. You are not ready for the meat of the gospel, and before you start teaching, you should remain on milk until you understand the depths of God’s goodness. Nonetheless, I will extend the courtesy of addressing the verses that you were not interpreting their actual context of. So, how are we to understand the words written by Peter? Peters not actually saying these people were saved. He’s teaching us that they were given the knowledge of the Lord which is how all of us escape the defilements of the world. But apparently, these Jewish may have heard and tasted the good news, but it never took root. They did not believe the message they heard and therefore it did not profit them. The reason the last state has become worse than the first is because, at least in the beginning they did not know the message of salvation through Jesus. It’s worse because they are literally rejecting Jesus. They turned from the commandment for us to believe. Jesus said the work that pleases the father is that we believe in the one whom he has sent. Jesus set a NEW command I give you that you love others as I have loved you and that you believe". Peter is not talking about the law. Remember, Jesus is the end of the law for all who believe. The one who believes is not judged. The law is weak and useless and perfect nothing. No one will be found righteous to the law. Christians are not under law but under grace. Joe - how many ways must God say for you to believe it? What is this “vomit” that a dog is returning to? Peter is drawing a comparison between the law and vomit. The Jewish people are the dogs who are returning to the law, as they reject the true gospel of salvation through faith. Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. People departing from the faith, is simply people hearing the gospel and saying no thank you. What you're suggesting is that one moment they were sealed to the day of redemption, and then suddenly they were not sealed until the day of redemption. You can't have your cake and eat it too. My friend, you are literally elevating the law over Jesus. And Peter is literally doing the exact opposite, and you’re missing it. Rewind just one chapter and we see Jesus calling us to apply diligence, excellence, self-control, godliness, etc. He then wants us to know the root cause of someone who is not exhibiting these fruits. It certainly isn’t because they’re not focused on the law. People start to run down that road because they are blind and they are not remembering that Jesus has purified them from their sins (1 Peter 1:9). Nowhere in any of Peter’s writings will you find that we receive salvation through human effort. Anyone who draws that conclusion is not following his writings correctly. In fact, we see a lot of the same language in the letter written to the Hebrews. And I challenge you to read the first 10 chapters of that letter and show me just ONE example where the writer mentions outward sin. You won’t find one. The ONLY kind of sin you will find mentioned is INWARD. The sin of UNBELIEF. These Jewish people, like the people in Peters letter, have heard and tasted the good news, but they have rejected it and chose the law and temple sacrifices instead. And for those people, who have rejected the only true sacrifice for sin, no longer have a sacrifice available to them. Because the blood of animals won’t cut it. And they too would have been better off not hearing the good news, then hearing it and being made partakers of that news, only to say ‘no thank you’. For them, the last state is worse than the first one. Lastly, you quoted Paul from 1 Timothy 4:1. I’m not even sure if I can take you seriously with that one. I don’t think anyone has been clear that salvation is through faith apart from works. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard this theology that you’re trying to push year. That we’re not losing salvation because of outward sins, but rather you’re describing Christians who are saved and then woke up one morning and just did not believe anymore. Respectfully, well that may sound ominous, you won’t actually find any clear teaching to build a defense for that. The reality is you’re finding a couple of verses and you are misinterpreting them, and that is very dangerous. Because it’s very possible that you indeed do not believe in Jesus, and may need to be concerned yourself that you would be the one with a destination that you presented in your comment. I hope not. PS - I’m not even sure why you’re bringing that DNA here. What you don’t see here is people “paying attention to the teachings of demons”. In fact, I’d argue that pushing a theology that our eternal salvation can be stripped away would indeed be the teaching of demons. It negates all the promises from our father.

@@joesteele3159 Again, you have missed the context….. I guess you missed that when Paul wrote ‘we’, referring to CHRISTIANS, that he called our wreath IMPERISHABLE. So apparently if our rate is imperishable, so is our salvation. And that is not what you are teaching. You are teaching that ours is perishable. So you and Paul are not on the same page. But I’m pretty sure you’re pointing to the fact that Paul made a comment about he himself being disqualified. Where you are mistaking my friend, is that you think he’s talking about being disqualified in the eyes of God. That is not at all what Paul is was saying. Paul is saying he lives an upright life and disciplines himself because he does not want other humans to view him as ungodly and therefore be disqualified in their eyes. Context my friend. Context.
Here's the thing. You call it a lie, and we call the losing salvation theology the big lie in Christianity. You are certainly entitled to believe your personal sins are bigger than the blood Jesus shed for them on the cross. Sadly, I do not believe people with this thinking have truly put their trust in Jesus. But rather they have a great deal of confidence in the flesh. If salvation could be retained by avoiding sin, then Jesus died needlessly. But instead of angrily being combative and hurling insults, let me encourage you to show the world Jesus and be willing to at least entertain having a godly polite discussion. This idea that somehow you’re defending Jesus by immediately attacking people who proclaim the name of Jesus is not impressing God. Show Jesus. ❤️
Thank God that I am sealed with the Holy Spirit and can never lose my salvation because the power of God will keep me! I will stick with the word of God and not what humans say that is contrary. Ephesians 1 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Romans 5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Parables ≠ allegories. If, when reading a parable, your first instinct is to allegorize the characters, you’ve already misinterpreted the parable. The original audience of these parables was not 21 century western Christians. The original audience was 1st century Israelite people, mostly peasants. These peasants would have viewed the rich master in this parable as greedy and wicked. They would not have equated him with God. Using money to make money? Charging interest? Those practices would have been considered shameful by the original audience. Not everything in the bible is accessible to us today, unfortunately. We don’t always understand things.
@@jackshadow325 No sir. I'm honestly not sure what led you to think that. I think you will find I am far more open to open in public debate or discussion. As you stated "in Context" this goes back to the 3rd Question the Disciples as Jesus in Matthew 24:3 KJV the "end of this [the] World"? Where does Jesus answer this question in Matthew 24 ? Read verse :35 and 36. "of that Day". The Day the Heaven's and this Earth pass away as spoken of in 2 Peter 3:7, 10, and 12. This was money as even clarified in Matthew 25:27 by putting the money in the bank and getting interest on it. The Millennium is for the Jews of Israel as promised by God. Timeline is a great start to understanding Scripture. Who was the man who went on the journey in verse :14 ? You find out it was God/Jesus as he cast that worthless Servant to the outer darkness verse :30. So we learn that Jesus leaves the Earth during the Millennium kingdom and entrusted His possessions to them till He returns [at the end of the Millennium kingdom.] Then comes the separation of the Sheep and the Goats, the Wheat and Tare reaping and the Great White Throne Judgement. For some reason the enemy has blinded the eyes of Bible teachers NOT to see Jesus leaving the earth during the Millennium kingdom and returning at the end when this world will be destroyed and Jesus catches away the true believes that are left on the earth at the end of this World when it will be burned up by God.
You really do not have to commit intellectual suicide to know that the story of the talent indeed was a parable. Talking about salvation Jesus says “For it is JUST LIKE” Those words alone should remove any argument. Aside from you, no one is arguing with the actual meaning of a ‘talent’ is. That’s why it’s called a parable. i.e like the virgins and oil. If you are going to take this literally, you might as well call a spade a spade. That would be teaching that Jesus was teaching them that God gives each of us some money. Some 16 years worth of income, some 32, and some 80. The guys to invest their money the best get more money from God. But if one guy doesn’t invest it, and just digs a hole in his backyard and buries it, well he’s going to Hell. That's the only take away if you're going to run with the literal translation and apply this is not a parable. Sorry, I’m not buying it. This is why some people are so confused about scripture. They’re trying to connect dots that are simply not there. I’ve seen these teachers with their big whiteboards if they try to look super religious and ominous trying to decode the mystical Bible as if it were something only the elite rocket scientist could unpack. Here’s a newsflash: The scriptures were written for ordinary men and women. They were not intended to be some da Vinci code they can only be understood by the super elite smart. The Bible is only confusing when cult leaders get together and start trying to build out doctrines that simply are not within the biblical text. My advice to everyone reading this is to completely ignore people pushing that kind of teaching. They seek to elevate themselves as they pound their chest and suggest that you're simply too stupid to understand for yourself where salvation comes from. Unfortunately, I do believe it is those people that are going to be hearing the words "depart from me".
This makes much more sense honestly because how could anyone know they are doing enough to be saved?
Thank You Jesus!! God is great. This parable has been a challenge for me on understanding. But I get it now. God bless you
Thank you for clarifying this.
❤️❤️❤️

Not even about rewards but just don’t want Him to look at me with disappointment I haven’t done more
Thanks for the kind word. YOU are the reason we are here. God bless.
Great clarification Brother. Amen. Praise God for all he has done.
Thank you brother I always struggled with that one
Even at bible study it was spoke with fear
And come away unsure
Love and peace to you in Jesus name from steve in England ✝️
This is late but me to
This is the BEST explanation on this parable I have ever heard. Thank you.
❤️
if its the Gospel then how come 0 of the churches established by the Apostles and 0 of their students said it was the Gospel apart from works?
How could the unprofitable servant go into hell if he believed the gospel and worked for the Lord
Thank you, I feel much better about your explanation now. ❤😊
its all about the faith of jesus
I would one day hear the words ‘‘You worthless, lazy slave!’
And let’s say God put 5 opportunities in front of you and you invested in the gospel by sharing it with each of them.
@@jesuswithoutreligionThere's nothing from the text itself to support that conclusion though. Especially in light of Church history
@@MasterKeyMagic perhaps you don't see clearly, which is fine. We will have to agree to disagree.
@@MasterKeyMagic Respectfully, none of what you said makes any sense or add any context to this specific discussion.
Isn't it? 🤔
I'm not really good in expressing my thoughts 😅.
Thank you. I suspected it was the gospel. Nothing else makes sense.
I think the parable is saying that if you aren’t faithful to God then you aren’t going heaven AND this is because if you were saved then you WOULD be living for God and be faithful to him.
Re: you wrote 'if you aren’t faithful to God then you aren’t going heaven'
Then that would fly in the face of:
“when YOU area faithless, I WILL REMAIN faithful” 2- Timothy 2:13
“I will NEVER leave you or forsake you” - Hebrews 13:5
We are not saved by our faithfulness.
“You have been faithful over little”
Doesn’t make sense if talent is Gospel. Was he given a little of the Gospel?
No. “little’ is not referring to a little of the gospel. It’s referring to the number of opportunities to share (invest in) the gospel. Note: Even though the word was ‘little’ , the Father is indeed very pleased. It’s not about quantity. It’s about quality.
Great Teaching. Thanks.
I would revisit these verses in deep prayer. If the talent is the gospel, why would God divide it into portions?
Hello, and thanks for your comment.
You asked “If the talent is the gospel, why would God divide it into portions?”
First, the question you asked seems to suggest that you are forgetting that this is a parable.
@@jesuswithoutreligion ok I see your point now. Thanks. May God be glorified.

Don’t be deceived by leaning on your own understanding but meditate on the WORD 🙏
The 5 foolish virgins were sleeping & drowsy 💤 too which signify their Faith. They were saying lord lord & that means they were in the lukewarm category too. Why would unbelievers anticipate & hope for bridegroom’s arrival? So they’re not unbelievers ❌ & oil means our Faith✅
God will refuse to accept People who profess with lips 👄 alone but the kind whose ACTIONS tells otherwise.
He calls us:
Blameless
Saints
Justified
Royal Priesthood
Children
Sanctified
Holy
Redeemed
Friend
New creation
Temple of God
Righteous
One With Christ
Chosen
Forgiven
However, I am going to disagree with your comment about Christianity not being a walk in the park.

🙂This was good.

Mathew 10:36:
First, keep in mind this is being taught to JEWS.
Jesus! :)

Hi Sarah!
I don’t think he ‘knows’ him in the same sense that you know Jesus. Note: He did not say he knows Jesus/God, but rather he said he know he’s harsh. So, he’s saying he knows his personality.

If you believe we can't lose salvation then what " work out your salvation with fear and trembling" ? Thank you
It means ‘work out’ what’s already been ‘worked in’. In other words, the God of the universe lives in you. If we actually grasp that to its fullest we would certainly have an awe or a natural fear and trembling. And the point is that He lives in you, and let him live in and through you.

Yep.
🎉🎉🎉
Romans 10:9 NIV
[9] If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
But how can an unbeliever be a servant? I think he is talking about all believers
There are two types of servants in this parable. Servants to Christ, and servants to the evil one. Why would a servant of Jesus hear 'And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
If the talent is the gospel, then why do es he say 5, 10, and so on for the talent if the talent is only the gospel??
Because you can share the gospel '5, 10, and so' times. :)
PS just some added thought….
As we read the Old Testament typically talents referred to “talents of gold/silver”. And we know that God is not teaching us about money in this parable.
Consider this:
Rewind a few verses.
Some people refer to 1 Corinthians 3:10 on wards that proves that we get rewards can you explain that?
Sure. 1 Corinthians 3:10 reads 'According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each person must be careful how he builds on it.'
The foundation Paul is building is the gospel of Christ.
Read verse :35 and 36. "of that Day". The Day the Heaven's and this Earth pass away as spoken of in 2 Peter 3:7, 10, and 12. So in Context the time line here is at the end of the Millennium reign of Jesus when Matthew 25 three stories take place. There was no mention by Jesus these were Parables as He did mention in the Tares and Seed in Matthew 13:12 and verse :34. If you don't get the timline right you will never figure out Matthew 25. I have heard so many messages of what the Talent are from Faith in salvation to Spiritual gifts. A one Talent was equal to 16 years of income. This was money as even clarified in Matthew 25:27 by putting the money in the bank and getting interest on it. The Millennium is fir the Jews of Israel as promised by God. Timeline is a great start to understanding Scripture. Have a blessed week.
Thanks.
Jesus would not say "watch therefore, for you know neither the day or the hour" to a believer
@@jesuswithoutreligion ..so, Jesus is giving this warning to unbelievers?
@@poplap9241 yes.
[1 Peter 3:15] being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, but with gentleness and respect;
I would put special emphasis on the descriptive words gentleness and respect.
I found out what the talent is and your really close but Incorrect slightly
I'll share it with you soon probably next month
And then you can be saved at that time
Based on your response, I’m fairly certain no one here is interested in your opinion. Please take that arrogant prideful DNA somewhere else.
Dude is subbed to Kenneth Copeland
Hey man! Hope you’re having a good day! If you’re preaching and teaching to people you need to be a little more careful on quoting scripture . I see your heart, and I believe you have good intentions but you miss quoted and mixed up some scripture.
For example at 5:53 you said the evil one will come like a thief in the night, but it’s actually
the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. (1 Thessalonians 5:2)
Have a blessed day!
22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”
2 Peter 2:20-22
How can an unsaved person escape the pollutions of this world through Jesus Christ?
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons
1 Timothy 4:1
How can an unsaved person be a part of the faith?

Where you are mistaking my friend, is that you think he’s talking about being disqualified in the eyes of God. That is not at all what Paul is was saying. Once saved always saved is a LIE
Ephesians 1
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Romans 5
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
It’s unclear who you are directing this to? It honestly does not reflect much, if anything, of what I shared in this video.
@@jesuswithoutreligion Seems to have upset you.
@@jackshadow325 No sir. I'm honestly not sure what led you to think that. I think you will find I am far more open to open in public debate or discussion. My response was seeking clarification on your comment. Although at this point, I am questioning if my request for clarification as possibly upset you.
Talking about salvation Jesus says “For it is JUST LIKE”
Those words alone should remove any argument.
