    That was epic mate! Both are amazing cameras and the results speak for themselves. I can’t believe how adorable those little flying jewels are. Stunning captures! Thanks for sharing bud:)

      Peter, thank you, thank you. I just enjoy shooting and buying gear. They are both simply amazing cameras and both fun to shoot. I am going out there soon again but with my D800 to shoot those little gems. A woman who was out there filling the feeders was telling my wife and I that there are a wider variety in the spring..... let me see how many cameras I can take with me LOL. Thank you, thank you Peter!!! 🤗💖🙏

    Very interesting video for me to see. I own the R5 and its the best camera I've ever had, by far. Only two things that kill me (and make me consider jumping ship) 1) the R5 OEM grip has some very flimsy parts inside it... mine failed after 5 months... and the darn thing cost $400 !) 2) Canon just does not offer the lens which I really need.... I'm shooting 90+% of the time with the RF800 F11, and taking a LOT of really great shots, which I feel like, on paper, should not even be possible ! In fact, often I add the 1.4 TC which makes it an F16 ! Ridiculous, right ? I was using this combo yesterday in VERY low light, and actually got some ringers. Unbelievable. But your choices are, the 800 F11, for $900..... or, the RF 800 F5.6, for $16,000, with nothing in between !?!? Come on Canon ? How ridiculous is this ?
    Anyway, I am SO envious of the Nikon PF 800 F6.3. At $6500, its not cheap, by any means, but I can buy this lens + a Nikon Z9, for $5000 less, than the Canon RF 800 F5.6, and its lighter as well, and so barely darker, that I think most times it would make zero difference.
    If Canon doesn't come out with something between their two RF 800 lenses in the next year or two, I could see myself jumping ship.

      I completely understand. I WAS a Nikon shooter and jumped to Canon because Nikon was not keeping up with the tech - it felt like they just fell down on the side of the road..... until the Z9 and I was skeptical. The lenses I use on my R5 and my R7 are adapted. They are still amazing and way less expensive that the RF ones. The only RF lens I really like for birding is the 200-500 and that will work with a tele as well. When I shoot my 500 F4 with a 1.4 tele on the R7, I am shooting at 1120 mm at an F5.6 -AMAZING for low light and tons of reach. It is heavy but on a gimbal or tripod, not a problem. If you are looking at the PF from Nikon, I am guessing you are also looking at weight. I really wanted to shoot the 800 but the F11 would not give me the look I want..... and the high of an aperture scares me - old habits die hard I guess!! I will say the older EF 100-400 is WAY better than the new RF version in my opinion. 🙏💖🤗

      I am looking forward to seeing the specs of the R5II and or the R1!! If I may ask, what are you looking for in a camera body as far as capabilities? The R5 is still fantastic, but if it is eye AF and performance, the R8 even without IBIS that I was shooting last week was almost as amazing as my R3. I will be shooting the R6Ii this week. The new and updated specs make some of the newer bodies at a lower price better. Glass is a better place to upgrade....... but I do miss the 8K!!! 🙏💖🤗

      I am already annoyed by a 2kg lens, the Sigma 150-600C, definately too heavy for handholding/carrying nonstop. I dont even want to imagine how hard these 2 big boys were.

      Adrian my friend - thank you. I really enjoyed shooting both - they are both amazing. It was funny that when I started to figure out the cost, they really are about the same if you have to get the lens and body. I think I am in a fortunate position as a gear addict, that I still have the amazing Nikon lenses and only have to get the Nikon body......... What was the most sore was my shoulders, but it was all sooooo worth is. Thank you, thank you........ I dont NEED the Z9........ dont need it....... but my addiction is telling my otherwise!! 🤗💖🙏

      silvere36, thank you!!! I wish i had more time with the Z9 but as a rental, I shot about as much as I could. Checking my finances and if there is any way I can buy one, I will and will do a more in depth showing the screens on each. I may rent again, but for the price of the rental for that beast..... I would rather just buy. I know it is would be well used! 💖🤗🙏

      @@JonnyPink65 thanks John. I held out going to mirror less for the longest time. Z9 sold me. Took 6 months for BH to deliver but it was worth it! You're absolutely right about it being a beast! The precapture and screen grab functions are unique to FX action cameras but it hardly ever gets mentioned. Btw, that spot looks like Kenneth Hahn. I didn't know there was a hummingbird station.

    • @JonnyPink65
      @JonnyPink65  Год назад +1

      @@silvere36 It IS Kenneth Hahn. Go to the top where everyone parks to get shots of the city with the snow covered hills behind. Instead of going to the left towards that spot, go to the right near the towers. Such an amazing little spot. I understand there is another there much like that. I prefer the standard eyepiece but love to be able to review shots quickly in the EVF. Neither is perfect but both are awesome!!

    I had the R6 for about 2 weeks, as much i liked the R6, it was just too heavy and big/bulky for the daily and family stuff. I even preffered my EOS RP over the R6 just because of the added weight. For me the weight was also the dealbreaker, never thought some 100 grams more are THAT DIFFERENT. But yeah, being used to a RP and 50mm 1.8 prime mainly, anything with full frame is heavy.
    The R7 is at least something in between, not too heavy or big, still nice grip i wish the RP would have and performance enough for my needs.

    • @JonnyPink65

      @@JonnyPink65 yes, just for the much smaller price i would prefer a adapted 100-400 and R7 over 100-500 and R5/R6

    • @JonnyPink65
      @JonnyPink65  Год назад +2

      The old R5 eye autofocus is still far superior to the Nikon Z9 with the latest firmware. The Z9 is good but lags far behind. An amazing camera though - heck - they are all amazing. The R7 is even better I think. 🤗❤🙏
