Oh my goodness, Wisconsin is beautiful! So glad you got to go birding in your home state. So many lifers and beautiful shots. Those Pileated Woodpeckers can be so tricky. But I'm sure you'll get your perfect picture one of these days! So nice that you visited your grandparents and parents. Safe travels!
Great shots….enjoyed your sightings! I think I’m lucky in my part of Wisconsin as we are right by the Bark river and marsh and there is a recreation trail right here. So many people park and hike in at spring time for cranes and Hurons. This year for the first time ever for me ( and this far East) we had a flock of yellow headed black birds that stayed for the summer. You remind me very much of my late mother, our many hikes she knew every bird by their call…and sure enough there it was. She was right every time. ❤️
Living so close to a great birding spot is the best! I’m quite close to a river here in Utah too. Happy birding out in your area! Hope you get some more birds coming through the fall migrations
Hawkins, good morning 🌅 to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. Did you know that the American Robin is the Wisconsin’s State Bird. In 1926-27, Wisconsin school children voted to select a state bird. The Robin received twice as many votes as those given any other birds. Chapter 218, Laws of 1949, officially made the Robin the State bird.
I was surprised how difficult it was to get a Blue Jay (well, most birds for that matter) on video. Nice work! I am headed to Wisconsin next week. Going to Horicon Marsh. Haven't been there this time of year before.
Awesome video Hawkin! Really enjoyed those more Eastern birds! Jealous of that Pileated Woodpecker!
Thank you! Wish I could have gotten it on camera

I always love heading back to Wisconsin that’s for sure. A lot of hidden beauty

So cool that you saw the whole family of downy's!! Ive only ever seen one or a pair. You got some amazing footage in this video!
It was super cool! Thanks for the kind words
Nice video, lucky to get so many sightings of different species same day
The video felt really engaging
Thanks for watching! I was so happy with the lifers
Congrats on your lifers!

Sure did! It’s also the state bird of a few other states which is kind of lame. I wish every state had their own unique bird
So fun

I hope to check out that marsh when I’m home again sometime. Hope it’s a great trip for you!
As long as you are in the area you should check out Horicon Marsh. It's not too far from where you are.
I’m already back in Utah sadly but maybe one day when I’m back in Wisconsin again!
Cool! However, it would help if you turned the volume up when you do a voiceover I think.
Will keep that in mind for next video!
