In a sea of photography channels where everyone seems to be a copy one another I find your take on things refreshing. Dude, keep doing you. Like the channel and the content.

Bought this after watching your review. It fit 90 percent of what I carry in my main Incase Pro Pack camera bag and I love how snug and small it is. Definitely using it for my travels

Thanks for this Omar. It’s amazing how much one can fit in the bag. As I now have an ICD (think AAA battery pack jump starter), fitted under my left collar bone, I need to sling both ways. Most slings are designed to fit on the left shoulder, but it’s problematic having the strap and all the weight press across the left side of your upper body where it can affect the ICD. So this bag looks like it will solve the problem.

I think you have the 8 there. The 10 is supposed to have the interior depth of about 170mm and that 5D is around 116mm so it should fit easily. With the 8 on the other hand it would be a close call like in this video.

I use a little Patagonia atom sling with domke wraps. You can fit a surprising amount in those things; 2 lenses a body and lens with filters and all usual guff. Slings are great especially if you're not bringing lots of gear with you.

So, it will fit a 70-200 but barely? hmm... not the best.
and it won't fit any water bottles, which sucks. Not like I need one all the time, but would be nice if the option was there.
I just need a small bag for my extra lens (70-200, maybe one more) plus a few accessories, and possibly my drone - so I'm not having to carry my big bag for small day trips.
    Questions:
    - Can you not attach a tripod anywhere?
    - I do not want to carry my camera inside the bag as I like to keep it on the Peak Design Capture V3, will it be okay on the front strap?
    - Could the bag collapse or be compressed flat, or nearly flat? If I want to stuff this inside another bag when travelling

Thank you for sharing your review. I have a "Q" sling (very old design...cannot find a new one ANYWHERE, but, I so love it-bought from thrift store years ago because it is WIDE inside) and a Tenba 10L sling. BUT, I am SETTLING on these. Mostly on Tenba (which I rarely use). Both are made very well, however, with ANY manuf of sling bags NONE of them consider either DSLR or mirrorless shooter with full size battery packs in their designs. They are strictly thinking about average height camera bodies and I cannot find one to work for me. This Think Tank sling looks almost like the perfect bag for me...but, with either my Nikon D800 or Sony A7III with full size battery pack attached (no...I will not remove it or any attached lens...I want quick access to whip it out and shoot at any given moment), they will not fit and accommodate rest of lenses you have shown. THINK TANK CORP., if you are reading comments...I BEG...BEG of you to PLEASE think about us with extended full size battery packs on bottom of our gear and make your sling bags...maybe label "Sling XL or XW-Xtra-Wide" about 2-3 inches more width(?) to accomodate battery packs. I BET you would open up a HUGE additional market!! Thanks a bunch!!📸📸📸

Great and informative review with some witty one-liners too. Must admit I did laugh at the manta ray moment! I've been looking around for a while for a sling bag better designed for an aps-c mirrorless system since investing in an a6600 Sony a few months back. This pack seems to fit the bill for hauling larger lenses too and since most of my glass is Sony a-mount, that works great as well. Pretty sure I'll be ordering this now within the next few weeks and all thanks to your review helping me to decide (as well as what's locally available for purchase). Thank you.

I was close to writing a wish for "Art of Photography" to maybe consider making the odd video for us viewers to have a chance to see some of the pictures and fanzines paid for to be sent as gift as art.
    Oh o silly we are
We know it all is about selling something new for the sponsor. Everywhere. Always, So fast that we can not even follow the "unboxing".
I love when it is done well - I am not very impressed in general in how things move.

    • @ogonzilla
      @ogonzilla  4 года назад +2

glacier activity I agree. I am partly turned off by sponsored videos. They’re commercials let’s face it. I’m ok with gear reviews that show me the product without pushing it. That’s what I try to do. Not a review per say but a “show and tell.” Makes sense?

The problem with your packing demonstration, dear Omar, and those of most other demonstrators, is that you face the back strap away from you while in use the strap is behind you and the flap opens up toward the street. Such useless demos are a dime a dozen on RUclips. Next time please show the bag while actually being used, as that’s the ultimate test of its functionality. As for these camera bags, most suffer from too much structure and padding and scream "photo bag." We’re not idiots and don’t continuously bump into walls running backwards. I myself use a Lowepro Streamline Sling which has minimal protection and holds my EX3 with 16-80/f4 and my XT3 with 55-200 and my 60mm, plus iPad mini and water bottle and still looks unobtrusive. Unfortunately the bag is discontinued and replaced with the usual obvious padded sling. A good sling is hard to find. The ThinkTank comes close, but is not stealth.

Which you are correct the inadvertently demonstrated usage is harder than the correct usage. So i perceive no loss of information. And i also perceive a little ocd.
