Here I sit... having seen several reactions to this, from people of the non-headbanging variety, and yet... *ALL* have headbanged... some not all out, but no one could resist...
And as I await their reaction, I check the comments... and my mind, body, and soul recoiled in terror upon reading of this event "No headbanging during the breakdown"... I don't know if I can bare to witness such a horrendous scene...

Me too I’m lucky. The entire band was amazing. Great showmanship. I wish I saw them more times when they were in my area in New Jersey. Back in the mid to late 90’s at their peak.

lots of people will laugh at what im about to say- but this was the most important concert in history. not just rock but anything. this was during the wall falling down- its the first time these folks went to a real rock concert. the russian military was not happy - if you watch the full concert you can see them flying choppers lower over the crowd to scare people. just absolutely epic in every since of the word

Dimebag was shot and killed at the Al Rosa Villa concert venue on Sinclair Road in Columbus, Ohio. I’ve seen many shows there but I was working the night Damage Plan was playing. I saw the news and just couldn’t believe it.
The only thing stopping me from driving up to that show from Cincinnati was the fact I had a newborn daughter+had to work. Otherwise...

You should explain to these dudes that Dimebag has produced some of the most badass riffs and solos in all of metal and he displays it in every song they released. I saw them in 98-99 with Anthrax and Coal Chamber opening for them. That show was nuts. People lighting fireworks off in the pit. Throwing around flaming shirts in the crowd. I walked out of that show covered in bruises from the neck down. It was a good time. Then I saw them in 99-01 opening up for Black Sabbath with Ozzy. It was a great show but there were no mosh pits or stage rushes. They had so many cops and security guards in that arena to protect the old people from being thrown from their seats and cleared out for the mosh pits. That’s the problem with a concert aimed at 20 and 50 yr olds. One is ready to fuck shit up and the other is trying not to break a hip. Y’all take it easy from Ft Worth Texas

Eddie Vanhalen was at both funerals at dimes he put his famous black and yellow guitar in Dimebags kiss coffin with him. The last thing Dime said to Vinnie was Vanhalen before they started jamming. That was Dimebag and Vinnie saying to each other every time they played and it meant let it all hangout and kickass and jam hard in other words play like Vanhalen kickass and rock hard and have fun doing it.
16 years ago today on December 8th 2004. R.I.P. Dimebag Darrell Lance Abbott.

Dimebag was murdered on stage in Ohio in December 8 2004. Vinnie died in 2018 and he was in the band HELL YEAH when he died. RIP MY BROTHERS.

What is still absolute madness to me after all these years is this was in 1991 right, 1990 CFH comes out, 1989 CFH Demo is floating around (I Sooo want to get my hands on this) but 1988 they are a Power Metal band like Judas Priest and before that their entire history is a Glam Rock Hair Metal Band. They did TWO complete rebrands in Two Years and are now more popular than they ever were before.
So... Not so fun fact: Dimebag was killed on my birthday, just like both John Lennon and my Grandfather. I kind of quit celebrating after that.
