Best lesson since Circles Around the Sun, this was great! I just jammed on two chords for two hours and it actually sounded interesting the whole time, absolutely loved this lesson. Killed it. Already psyched for whatever is next, but this should hold me over for the week!

Stich, I have to say, I think your videos have improved my understanding of the pentatonic scales more than anything else I have ever seen. Although I seem to like to play a harder rock / progressive style (or at least that's what I think I can play...lol) YOUR RUclips lessons on pentatonics have really opened it all up for me. THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES !!! My playing, my passion, and my yearning to learn more really have exploded because of you and your videos !! Thank you for opening my mind and my fingers to all of this. (P.S. As I come back to these videos, and all of your earlier ones, its so cool that when you talk modes and positions I ACTUALLY GET IT NOW. It DOES make sense at a higher level..)

This video and the flow chart have been invaluable to me. After years of playing just rhythm, I just started playing with a friend who is a talented keyboardist and arranger who has been asking me to play lead lines. Thanks to this class, I've been able to work them in to rehearsals as I learn them. Hint: if you ever do a class on Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable" I will be on that in a heartbeat.... :-)

    FYI is Tito Puente
who created Oye como va. Tito played awesome timbales. was a NYC puertorrican . Orchestra conductor and so much more, he was a mensh. Santana credited Tito Puente on that album published in early 70's

according to your lesson, a great approach for writing a song would be finding a nice chord progression and then write a melody with the notes of the chords (actually holding them down), instead the other way round (which was my first approach) where you find a melody and press some chords over it... Also using different chord voicings might be a good idea for finding great melodies. I will try it. Thanks for inspiring me! :-)

Yes mate, I stuck with it and it was well worth it. You show how simple it can be, with some understanding and practice, to do what the legends are doing. And while we may not be on stage in front of a huge audience.... we can enjoy fame in our own bedroom and with our jamming buddies. Great video. Thanks Stich and keep em coming. 😎

Hi I’m extremely new guitar player . I stumbled on your RUclips videos ( mainly) how the Allman Brothers harmony . That’s very advanced for me . I don’t use RUclips a lot because I have trouble finding the person I want to see . I subscribed to yours because I believe you are first very knowledgeable and second I like the way you can use your ear . I’m out of town till the first week of November and I will not have my guitar till I get back home ( Florida ) , and I would like to talk to you about some lessons . I’ve played on and off for many years but never got much further than major chords and some music theory . Thanks I can’t stop watching your videos .

COOL ! THAT WAS A CRAZY LESLIE SOUND ON YOUR GUITAR dude ORor was i just trizz nippin ?? IMHO THE greatest Santana solo is from best , 1st record 'Shades Of Time' before all the extendo fuzz ! we don't care for his over saturated, PRS Mesa Boogie, Sri chimony trip..before he was mayor of San Rafael and he's still playing that hollow body gibson 335 ? with the real cutting ,yet mellow wicked tone dude !it's SOOO Spanish-flamenco, influenced !!with these gorgeous stutter steps etc! before he did cid with John Mcgloughlin and learned the Dorian mode haha yes i'll send money 2 U! wish you'd break that bee-atch right dwn to the ground 1x 4 us punters Jackson!!! it's waaay cool the way he mos def jacked the Tito Puente horn pops, riffs, although once you hear Tito's version statistically I'll bet you don't go back! hahah thnx for imparting the good stuff ! does your chart have the Aeolian , Dorian Modes ? thought there was only minor & major 'penatonic's or did i just transgress the unwritten law ?? please learn me up real good! cheers- Spanish Grease
