When robin hood tried to "save" the princess from shrek it was not just a satire of fairy tales. It was also a satire of society in many different ways/interpretations
Satire explanation: in Snow White, she sings softly to animals .. they made Fiona sing to animals too, but they made her voice too loud/obnoxious at the end that the bird exploded-that is satire. Also, she isn’t well mannered like most princesses are, since she burped out loud . They also mocked the fact that the princesses in fairy tales are always damsels in distress in need of a male hero rescuer, Fiona was rescued by shrek an ogre/monster instead of a handsome human prince, and the human blonde Prince Charming isn’t tall or handsome lol he ugly and short af + in the Robin Hood scene they reversed the damsel in distress concept and Fiona defended herself against Robin Hood+ they exaggerated her fighting abilities (4:38, incongruity: what’s out of place is her knocking a guy out with her hair that doesn’t happen in real life, 4:52 parody of matrix that pause in unrealistic she had time to fix her crown for crying out loud, 5:26 exaggeration: again mimicking matrix when the female walked on the wall, Fiona ran on a tree (again unrealistic) and knocked the man out )

Theres satirical elements in Shrek but I think is more of a parody, because ultimately its a celebration of fairy tales. If it had a sad ending or concluded true love didnt existed, then sure.
@@josiah69 KInda... Parody is a commentary of the genre it's portraying, and Satire uses the genre to make a commentary on something completely separate. Example: Scary movie and Scream are a parody while Get Out is considered satire. hope that makes sense.

isn't the satire this ENTIRE clip...it's mocking the usual way fairytales and princesses are usually portrayed..like you'll read in your book that the bird sings along with the princess aww how sweet.
