    I'd be curious to see how this bike would do in a group test between it, the R3, RC390, Ninja 500 and maybe the CBR500R. It sounds like the mushy brakes would be a turn off for me personally, but I wonder if the competition would do any better.

    • @maximus9401
      @maximus9401 7 месяцев назад +11

      R3 was falling behind when the Ninja 400 came about. It's not even in the running now

      It's kinda better than all of em , N500 comes a close second

      450ss is the top right now. Ninja 500 second. Aprilia 3rd.
      Hard for the Aprilia with it's 40whp to compete with N500's that are pushing 50 whp stock and 56-58 whp with a few mods.

    • @varun1036
      @varun1036 5 месяцев назад +2

      Aprilia will trounce em all. Its got proper clipons with a committed seating posture and a hell lotta torque at low end making corner exits quicker than the competition.

    • @subuguru3
      @subuguru3 2 месяца назад

      I'd be curious to see if quicker Corner exit would trump quicker entry due to carrying 75 less weight than with My svart 401 @@varun1036

    "I could complain about the brakes but as a newer rider, I feel like you kind of need to learn how things are not supposed to feel so you can appreciate when things do feel premium and top notch". This may be the silliest thing I've ever heard in a bike review. What's next? Having beginners ride around on improperly inflated tires and lousy suspension so they can learn to appreciate a properly set up bike?

    I am interested in the group test including the cfmoto 450 SR S, because that one does have the adjustable suspension and electronics may be equal. Probably the difference resides on the quick-shifter. Also to confirm if the Ninja 500 is still the same bike with a little extra power. Thanks for the video and looking forward to the comparison

      Well statistically Ninja 500 is 451cc, so it's the same.

    How’s the braking on the rs457. Why couldn’t you measure 60 to zero in feet?

I SOLD MY BMW HP4 BECUASE ITS USELESS on the road .. RIDING A ROUND IN 2 GEARS IS BORIIINNNGGG . small displacement makes shifting and riding fun .. We have zx14, Hayabusa, HP4, CBR1000rr, MT09, CBR600r, Triumph Daytona 675 and we chase KTM 390 on almost 200corners winding road in our country and guess what?!!, now we all go for below 500cc and weight around 180kg or less!!!😂 should be very fun for us and not killing ourself most importantly😂(ask those so call riders how fast they can go into tight corners..80km/h?)😂😂😂

    Would you rather gateway drug into the Aprilia family (RS457) or the Kawasaki family (Ninja 500)?

    • @pratmak
      @pratmak 7 месяцев назад +3

      Kawasaki 500. Affordable to buy and maintain for a beginner. They’ve been evolving that motor for the last almost 40 years starting with the original ninja 250 in 1986. Ultra reliable and easy to maintain. Sure it’s not as “cool” as the aprillia, but if you want to track it, you can hammer the Kawasaki all day on the track and ride it home no problem without any worries of it blowing up. Can’t say the same about aprillia

    Thinking of picking this up for a track day only bike. I don’t really care for 20k plus bikes for the track. The only thing I really wanted was some of the teach bits of the 1000s 😂 as long as it’s got quick up/down and some traction control I’m happy

    Would afternarket clip-ons or rearsets help the track riding position?

    • @bbguardsp
      @bbguardsp 4 месяца назад

      Stock the clipon angle is too toward the rider so he can't get his elbows in front of knees. Aftermarket would fix it definitely.

    • @josh_ari
      @josh_ari 4 месяца назад

      @@bbguardspSome further back rearsets might help too. Changing the clip-on angle on an Aprilia is tough though. You gotta get a whole new triple clamp and clip-ons, but it's doable.

    Awesome brand ❤
    I owned a RSV Mille Factory R 2004 and I loved it.
    The gearbox didn't make sense, it was not comfortable, expensive oil and sparkplugs, it was awful as a road bike... But at the circuit these bikes come to life if you ride them to the limit, then there is cohesion and it becomes the bike you always wanted!
    Aprilia, you love it or hate it 😍

    ALL NEW BLANK SHEET ENGINE that makes the exact same power as a NInja 500, but probably far more likely to blow up and leave you with nothing after warranty.

      My guess would be they want it to be A2 license compliant, but yeah, I would definitely expect a Kawai to be bombproof compared to this.
      Still, every single Kawasaki I've ridden, apart from the ZX-6R, has felt so boring to me personally, so to each his own.

    You seriously need to work on your audio setup man.
    We can neither hear you speak clearly nor can enjoy the sound of the bike while you are riding. Either
    1. Make voice notes for yourself while riding and then re-record that in the studio
    OR
    2. Work on a better mic setup in your helmet so that the audio is clear for us.

      It isn't. Excellent ergos for my 5'11" frame whereas ZX-4R was noticeably more compact. I like the RS457 rider triangle even more than the RS660 (seems 660 has less room from seat to bars, and 660 bars are lower. I'm not looking to do a chin-on-tank tuck position for my steet riding either, so don't take his comment for full tuck to mean cramped for normal street use.

    I generally like your reviews Troy but I think you've been spending lot of time with 1390s, V4s, other big bikes and big bike riders. You do not seem to have much insight on a entry level sport bike rider - like maybe talk to youngins who ride RC390s, Ninja 500s. I say this because you sound condescending.
