In some country there's regulation regarding distance between the signal indicators. There could be other rule as well since I noticed KTM Duke in US market comes with slightly longer indicator stalk but the distance between them still shorter than the one on sportbikes. Could also be the distance from the headlight, just my guess.
You need to flash the ECU of the US spec version to get the integrated turns as well as fix a hole in power at the low-mid revs of 2nd unfortunately because of regulations on turn signals and emissions. im glad I wont be an early adopter so I dont have to worry abt early quality control because if u flash the ecu ur definitely going to void any warranty u purchased. Hopefully in the 2026 model they will have that all ironed out when I get one so that I can do all that lol

Aprilia is a brand I’ve never had much interest in, in large part because there isn’t a dealer that close to me. I appreciate all the content, but I’m looking forward to the ninja 500. I at least have a dealer nearby for that lol. I’ve always had a love for the Japanese bikes over everything else, and I’m looking forward to seeing them back in the content 😀
I have a Aprilia dealer nearby but they're also one of the reasons I'll probably never own an Aprilia. They're a very friendly dealer but they don't give discounts and seem to think $3000 OTD above the retail price is their minimum for add on charges (tax/shipping/setup/paperwork) making the 457 a $9800 purchase for me. I've seen some inimal Ninja 500 discounts with far more reasonable additional charges but also the CFMoto 450SS models are advertised for $4449 and 2024 Duke 390's for $4399 (+ appropriate charges) all of which I'd probably go for rather than the 457.

To name a few, seams in frame fittings, vibrations at idle, left leaning when not touching the handlebars, clunky gear shifts from 1-2, 2-3. Wanna feel like you're riding a fun lil pocket rocket? rs457. Want a reliable machine that you can daily/funride/tour with? Ninja500. The issues arent huge, most are fixable, relatively cheaply as well. Best thing to do is test ride both and chose what feels like is for you. Idk if dealers allow swapping the bike youre about to buy, if yes then test if the bike wants to lean to the left and gearbox performance before finalising it since only a few 457s have it

Honest question. I’m getting close to buying my first bike, but I haven’t decided what it will be yet. I really am interested in the 457, but I don’t know if that is the best decision. I’m not planning on doing much to the bike, in other words I’m going to keep it stock, I also don’t know how easy it will be for services for an Italian bike vs a Japanese bike. I’m also looking at the Ninja 500 or an R3. Any opinions on this from anyone, or other suggestions
Ninja 500 if it were me as a beginner. You will have way more dealer availability and support. It's very lightweigh at 379 lbs wet with abs included. More aftermarket and/or parts availability. Also, you get a few more ponies than most others in 400-500cc class at 51 hp instead of 44-46.7 which ill admit is negligible on most bikes especially on larger cc or heavier bikes but I don't think it's that negligible on a light Ninja when you consider the percentage increase. It's a 9.1-9.4% increase in horsepower which is equivalent to a stage 1 tune/exhaust/air filter increase in power without actually having a stage 1. On top of that, some bikes in this class only produce 28 ft lbs torque and Ninja 500 produces 32 so you also have around a 14% increase in torque as well (no change vs Aprilia) which would be a little more than you'd get from a stage 1. Also, that is still very manageable power for a beginner and may be the difference in leaving a little more for you to not grow bored of as quickly so it could provide some value there. So, the Aprilia Rs457 is 6 lbs heavier, 3 hp less and the Ninja 500 is $1,000-$1,500 cheaper msrp new than Aprilia depending on abs vs non abs model which I would just spend the extra $500 for abs on Ninja and still it is $1k cheaper. I wouldn't waste your time and money on a 300cc bike like R3, they look great but you will grow out of it almost instantly.

@@dawnanddavid7648 you don't necessarily have to get a bike flashed. That is usually just preference of some owners. I bought a priority + warranty package that extends my bike out 5 years on warranty and maintenance care....doing anything like that could void that

Maybe once they hit the used market for $6k or less, but over $8k for such a small bike is robbery, no matter how nice it is. (Same goes for the ZX4, though not as bad) RS457 is selling for $5k in India (from what I've been reading) which is an amazing deal for this bike. You can just get so much more bike (Even a used RS660) for the $8k they're charging for the 457.

@@yathishbl3757 twin spars are cheaper to manufacture since they are largely stamped and extruded while still being far stronger and lighter than cradle frames; trellis frames are more expensive to manufacture than twin spars due to the many welds needed, but it provides a lighter and stiffer structure by use of lots of triangles - the extra cost is why you usually only saw them on more expensive brands like ducati and ktm that specialize in more racing oriented bikes, with ducati only abandoning trellis frames when they could use the even stronger and lighter monocoque frames they use now
Those are not some random aprilia spec tyres, they are one of the best tyres you can get here in India for the 110, 150 section. TVS eurogrip protorq extreme tyres made by TVS(the company that BMW has the partnership with to make their 310's). I would say they are better than Michelin road 5's even on wet conditions.
Don't get so defensive, he's not crapping on them, just suggests upgrades and feels weird to him for the top spec performance. Road 6s aren't ideal track tires either.
They should get all the power they can out of "A2" bikes like this, and then add the "A2" horsepower compliance downgrade in the form of an electronic dealer download for the countries that have such restrictions. I mean who wants to buy a cool little bike that is intentionally held back on horsepower?

Demo rode the bike. I’m surprised you didn’t mention the rear brake foot lever. It is soooo small, feels like you’re braking with your big toe. The bike I demo’d had a bent in lever to be fair, but I hopped on another one & it still felt very inward and small. Other than that it was an amazing bike

Idk my tuono v4 has been a blast probably the funnest bike I've rode. I can also have fun on a moped aswell. The price on this bike is the only gripe I have with it. If it sold out the door for like 5.5 to 6k it would be justifiable.

That should be USA thing, here in Europe I have mine RS 660 with integrated turns, and I know RS 660s in USA have turns that also stick out.

Idk my tuono v4 has been a blast probably the funnest bike I've rode. I can also have fun on a moped aswell. The price on this bike is the only gripe I have with it. If it sold out the door for like 5.5 to 6k it would be justifiable.
