I did notice one thing about this debate that felt quite off at the time, but it makes quite a bit of sense in hindsight: Wright said that he is completely against the idea of cereal with water but is fine with Oreos with water. At first, it may seem like those two ideologies conflict, however we must take into account that Oreos are naturally delicious and most cereals do not taste great outside of milk. The added flavor of milk is what makes most cereals taste great, and the lack of it causes most cereals to be mediocre or straight up bad- barring a few exceptions like Reese’s Puffs (refer to Schlatt’s cereal tier list). So the comparison between the two isn’t so similar.
Schlatt's cereal tier-list is not something I'd expected to be brought up here. Anyway, plain Cheerios, no milk. Made up about 2/3 of my meals over quarantine.

If a cereal tastes fin dry then you can eat it with water. I'll sogg my fruity pebbles with water since they diffuse their flavor into the water. Thus making the water taste of fruity pebbles. I still prefer milk of course but if you are lacking in that area then water is an acceptable substitute. I wouldn't willingly eat cereal with water if I had milk on hand.

After watching this, I was very curious and lucky for me I did have some regular oreos in the pantry. I dipped them in water and he was exactly right! Milk does change the flavor of the cookie, while water just makes the cookie wet. I might start dipping my oreos in water from now on.
I've actually done that before lol, I was pushed to the limits of desperation because we were out of milk (fuck eating them dry, Oreos must be eaten wet if at all possible). I wasn't exactly dipping them, I'd put one in my mouth, drink from my water bottle, and just kinda let it happen I guess. It wasn't terrible. If you insist on eating Oreos on a diet, substituting water for milk would cut down calories. I wouldn't do it again, but if I had to I'd take it over eating dry Oreos. But I am thinking of intentionally eating Oreos with Red Bull to see what happens. I expect it will be awful but energy drinks make up a staple of my awful diet so may as well see.
If your ""diet"" regularly consists of eating Oreos and guzzling energy drinks, I think you're well beyond the point of getting to call it a diet. For anyone who's interested in genuinely trying to diet/lose weight, I'm sorry to say that gradually cutting back on your sugar intake is an absolute necessity. In moderation, a lil' bit of cheating here and there's completely fine but you should NEVER go overboard with it. The goal is to aim for at least 80% consistency with your diet. The only exceptions to this are in diets like keto, where cheating even once will result in your diet ending & your hard work being undone. (As to why this is, for diets like keto your body needs to enter the metabolic state of ketosis [can take up to a week] and then remain there for as long as you can manage. Cheating or eating improperly/excessively in diets like keto will result in your body falling out of ketosis, thus making you have to restart the process all over again.)

Water has flavor. Why I never drank from fountains (before covid) is because the water is always really bitter, too warm, or once tasted like it was laced with bleach... About the oreos... ...if you use warm milk, the oreos get soggy faster. Everyone out here using cold milk while I use warm milk with a bit of honey. Even better if the oreo is a bit cold first.
