0:30 Here is your answer as someone who has been playing since patch 0.3 It's possible because way back when, before the game went like 1.0 but also still had the boss cells mechanic implemented, the kind people at (game studio formerly known as motion twin) just went: *screw it, you keep your prior data intact, meaning you keep your boss cells that you earned too* however, at the time, the way you got boss cells was from beating the respective bosses in game. Each boss at the time: *the incomplete one* currently known as the concierge, conjunctivius not conjunctivitis, the assassin currently known as the time keeper and the hand of the king who is the hand of the king and one of the last bosses to be implemented before 1.0 is highly likely the reason why more people have the first boss cell than have beaten the hand of the king. The concierge is significantly easier to beat and get to than the himbo at the end of a run.
Seriously, why did they have to change The Watcher into the much more lame-sounding Conjunctivius? And who though a Concierge sounded threatening? At least call him The Warden.
@@centurosproductions8827 there are several RUclips videos that go more in-depth, but long story short: The Concierge was the one taking care of all of the king's guests, before being horribly mutated from the experiments of the "alchemist". As for the Conjunctivius, She was a small beast, that was imprisoned in the ancient sewers and fed by the guards with corpses of the infected, then when she got big enough she escaped, and turned in what she is today.

As someone who instantly saw the 15% text and got like 30 Brutality and an Assassin's Dagger V++ on run 2 and got carried to HotK, I completely agree with what you've said.
I think the reason why there are more people that got their first boss cell than people who beat the HOTK is because the game's progression was different in previous patches.
The speed a run goes from "JESUS CHRIST HOW THE FUCK AM I ALIVE" to "i am olkber, the god of death, nothing will come near me and survive" after you get a good legendary or modifier combo is the reason i love this game
i totally needed this guide to get back to dead cells since i had a mental breakdown on how shante gets me everytime i am in the spoiler area and still kills me even tho i already no hit spoiler boss while beating him for the first time (cuz i only had enough health to stand up and not tank damage)

I went into dead cells totally blind And i feel in love with it immediately. When i first got the broad sword i actually started doing only survival and it was actually how i beat hand of the king in the first 6 hours of playing the game so yea :P
For the scrolls that dont have your preferred colour, you should actully put as much stats into one of them instead if more HP, it's not going to make a difference in the later boss cells and legendary weapons will combine your 2 highest stats for it's damage, for example if you have 5 red 17 purple and 2 green, the legendary item would see you as having 22 stats
On 5bc, the late game seems to be easier with you one or 2 shotting everything until you mistime that one parry and watch your health go from full to back to prisoners quarters
Godlike explanation, that way you can really learn the game and also the little factors that often go unexplained (like what to do with scrolls that don't help your main color) while also *ahaing* a lot Good job!

So glad Dead Cells is now a thing on this channel. I've been playing it for ages now. So lemme explain the game. You pick a color you really like and stick with cuz god knows this game will let you get away with ONLY beartraps as long as you know how to time a parry or, you know, DODGE. And then some enemy you met in the very beginning levels gains like, six buffs, immortality, an inability to properly telegraph it's attacks to you and ya gotta start all over. So... All in all an awesome game for those with no soul left to worry about trivial things such as that one blueprint you left in a very specific corner for no good reason, other than "because I can always come back to get it later" and suddenly RNG decides let's stick about 50 trash mobs in front of the item you are looking for in every subsequent run. Now from the comment you might assume I'm just harping on the game but the thing is, it's not a bad game. It's cursed. Like, Uganda Knuckles unkilled itself levels of cursed. AND I LOVE IT. (Edit) BTW, this is gonna sound kinda cheesy, whatever sue me, I was raised on dairy (Terrible Pun detected) , deal with it: The game is only hard until it's not. Hey don't look at me like that, I typed it the way I wanted it typed, don't question it. What I mean by "until it's not" is that this game has a certain flow to it. Not exactly a process but rather near predetermined decisions based on RNG that you just sort of learn to roll with. Yes, the game does know you want that Greatsword, and no, it's not giving it to you. Honestly, just pick up an item and see what it does, you would be surprised how well only Beartraps work. It's more of a time thing I guess. So anyways, for those looking to pick up this game, I highly recommend it. There isn't as much of a learning curve as one would think, and any loadout will work if you put enough effort, hope, and whichever of your last few brain cells you are willing to fork over to playing this game. Until I pop into some other comment section uninvited, later and good day!
