543,259 points, all of 'em. I feel good. Really nice to see this video. Recently, a LOT more exploration of Dead Cells' mechanics and exploits have been done, so techs for items that were added years ago are being discovered on the daily nowadays. A few extra tidbits: - Assault Shield's dash is a melee hit, yes, but all parry and block damage from shields is also considered melee damage. External sources (like Punishment's AoE, which I believe is ranged) often isn't, though. - (Aside from two of the same weapon) the modern dual binding tech only works if one of your weapons has a cooldown, such as Firebrands (shown in the video). Otherwise, the game will just buffer the input for that same weapon over and over. At least, I think that's how it works...I know of this tech but I don't use it, so I'm not 100% on that one. - Byakko, Leghugger, and biters can also be affected by certain other environmental or weapon effects, like Scythe Claws' on-hit stun AoE or the stun from falling debris. - Serenade's effect, called an 'inventory reset,' can also be achieved by pausing and swapping either your weapons or skills...every time you want to reset. So practically speaking, yeah, just use Serenade for it. Basically, an inventory reset makes the game act as if you'd just picked up all the items in your inventory. A few other things that cause inventory resets: - Toothpick mending itself (can interrupt you mid-attack, even) - Picking up an item or amulet - Dropping an item from your backpack, I think? I actually didn't know that you could grant ammo back for stuff like Boomerang via an inventory reset....but I'm still gonna give myself the 500k. One of the most broken applications of inventory resets is with Barricade, which will give you the 30% BHP back every time you reset. That is one place where the pause-swap reset is very much viable. ALSO, while Serenade is only _truly_ broken because of inventory resets, her flying form's crit DPS is some of the highest in the game, so she is also broken just because she's strong :) Since you asked, here are a few techs I know not showcased in this video: - Toothpick charge and combo storage - Block stacking - Wrecking Ball doublehits - Wrecking Ball slides - King Scepter tech (bounce cancels, slam storage, etc.) - Wings of the Crow, in all its glorious jank brokenness - Bladed Tonfas cancels for movement - Tentacle s and animation cancels - Ledgegrab s and animation cancels - Hangtime momentum preservation (applies to basically all weapons with hangtime and all sources of upwards momentum -- this is the main reason certain weapons are better for wall climb resets) - Flint charge storage (don't know anything about this one personally, ask Cookie about it) - Flashing Fans + Parting Gift synergy - Iron Staff cancels/animation time abuse - Pure Nail endlag cancels - Pure Nail upslash cancels - Double Morningstar funnies - Whipsword cancels (very jank) - Hemorrhage secret piercing - War Javelin teleport's existence and its inevitable consequences - Barrel Launcher knockback boosts - Standing on top of Edoor - Grenade sliding (still don't really understand this one) - Stagger in general, which is still very much unknown and unexplored - Barricade doubling parry damage - Tonic roll cooldown boost - Phaser proc hit (1 damage) + it dealing melee damage - More Katana tech with Telluric Shock - Scarecrow Sickles blind spot - Amulet poison affixes dealing environmental damage (i.e. scaling with mobs instead of player scrolls) - Arrow and grenade affixes being ranged/melee respectively + being affected by other affixes
I only have the dc main server as reference, but I posted about it like a month before kemmy, though it was only one clip and i only started experimenting with more weapons after kemmy found it too
@@theviralmelon All good, I was not active in the server at all last year besides posting one or two clips of wonky stuff. I bet some of the stuff I find nowadays also has been theorized or done by other players. For example there used to be a speedrunner in our community who found a specific setup for ledge cancels with weapons that don't usually work for them. Nobody really used that tech in runs because we want weapons that ledge cancel anyways because they are better in other ways too. 1-2 years later another runner discovers the same thing and posts about it because now Cursed Sword is optimal for 5bc and that kind of movement is sought after
You can also do Ripper and Phaser combo since phaser counts as a melee attack you can rip the arrows from enemies just by pressing phaser. This works well with Sonic Carbine since you can't dodge roll instanly while shooting so use phaser as a dodging mechanic while shooting since it does it instanly even when you're shooting, the burst from ripper is also insane so you don't have to worry about dmg in the early game when you're playing something like quick bow
Some more advanced tech: apparently the Tentacle has i-frames? I don't know if this is a new discovery, but apparently you can fly in with the Tentacle and get mini-invulnerability to get a free hit with a slow weapon.
Lightspeed also has an obscene amount of i frames paired with a dash, some damage, being able to go back to where you were, and on a short cooldown. The amount of things you can cheese with it is insane
I knew all of these, except some of the specific item tech with Katana, like Tentacle or Frost Blast. Another thing that took a while to fully figure out is the downslam damage on floating enemies. You've probably seen it in Fresh File Castlevania speedruns because we just nuke Death with 1-1-1 stats, but on your main file they don't seem to work properly, right? You just do the normal stomp damage instead of the absolute nuke that hits damage cap every time. Well, the secret is that it only works without Ram Rune. Only then does this occur, and it works on every single enemy that floats, jumps, or is otherwise in the air. Meaning you can even set it up with the Giant Comb if you really want to explore all the possibilities. Some bosses have specific setups, like for example Concierge can be stomped for 15% of his health when he does the leap attack, and the way to not take damage is to parry it midway through the leap and immediately stomping. HotK jumps unfortunately give him s though, so he's safe... for now.
I was fighting hotk in boss rush with the whip that pulls enemies in and kept attacking him when he started to go up in the air to summon ads. For some reason he just froze in midair, semi-translucent, but still able to take damage. The monsters he usually summoned didn't appear, nor did the platform, and he just sat there until I killed him. Doubt it's anything new but figured I might as well mention it cuz its the only real glitch I've stumbled upon.
i'll just list the ones i didn't know : predator with shield and infantry bow , the shark attack counting as range and the serenade one . As for Kanata tech , i know a little bit about it :p
A good 10 point on the wall climb. Yay. The rest, to be honest, even if I knew I wouldn't do. 'Cause I'm too dumb to try, might break my fingers, or the keyboard, or both, in the process.
There's a tech with nail and katana that allows them to cancel each other's animations out. All you have to do is have nail in first weapon slot and katana in the second, and if you press both buttons at the same time (or dual bind in custom mode) it's gonna do it (hold to attack is also recommended). This tech is absolutely broken because its really high dps, run it with face flask and corrupted power and melt anything in no time.
I haven't counted, but i got all if them except the serenade one Also, another tech i have found is when you use the king's sceptre that you can not only move, but also jump, do ground pound or use skills The ground pound allows you to shorten the distance with the enemy when you're airborne, though you have to roll after that or you're getting that ground pound stun after landing When it comes to the skills, using phaser while in the spinning state teleports you to the ground allowing you to move across the floor, when getting into contact with the enemies, especially bigger ones, you hit them twice. And it's just a nice way to get closer to the enemies when there aren't any low ceilings I have a recording of a run where i used it, though I've died at hotk and was too lazy to rerecord And the successful run i got was actually so good, that i closed it in 28 minutes without even trying too hard
when i found the legbiter in michel´s corpse i had the lil mushroom equipped. As soon as the leg biter appeared he attacked my lil mushroom dude and forcibly unequipped him from me, weirdly a second later i had both of them equipped and everything was fine.
I got 43130 I didn't know the hold tech with wips the 69 points and the 500000 one that is something else. I didn't release how much I watch your content until now thank you ❤
Yesterday in the training room I messed with the royal scepter as my first weapon, the nail as my secondary, the giant comb as my backpacked item, the phaser skill, and the mutation that lets me attack with the backpacked item. The damage output was not that great but it was fun to feel like I was indeed in an anime for a bit and it is not as fun to use in tight spaces. One of the combinations I did was to roll past an undead ghoul to pop them up in the air, phase behind them to follow up with the scepter to now get unnecessarily further overhead than they were of me. It was a fun set to use. However, it did not displace the concierge so I could only pogo enemies below me, and doing so to enemies above me relied on my timing I did not have down. If I used the ground-slamming skill, I might be able to use all five attacks just for kicks.
Hey Vee, amazing video, I always wanted to see more dead cells content that is more advanced. For example, I never understood how to make the assault dash, I thought I had it right, but I was just rolling and THEN doing the assault shield. I always felt it looked different from yours so now I know why. Btw I have ~300hrs in the game and got 38.130 points but most were from watching your vids
While testing the Hattori's katana technique, i found out you can do chain slashes by holding the attack button and clicking the dash button, and then before the next first attack you have you time it and click the dash button for the dash attack to reactivate, it was so cool almost the same as the one here except you don't have to use the jump button
Extra tech thing. Bounce: Window in which attacks give extra elevation, requires hangtime. Any attack made while the weapon would normally give any sort of hangtime boosts altitude. Functions with scepter, pure nail, and spiked boots. Nail and boots are similar in boosting potential, but scepter can boost much higher. Works with any skill that gives hangtime: WoD, KDance, etc No notable difference when wings of the crow is active. Scepter's bounce is most applicable with magic missiles or flint (heavily recommended builds) while I prefer a fast secondary like firebrands or throwing knife for spiked boots.
You can just double jump wallrun to gain more and more height, you just can't spam it, you have to jump of the wall, wait a few more frames than the first possible air-jump, use it to get back to the wall and the beheaded will wallrun again.
I have a dead cells tech and u need the whip sword, if u hit then like immediately do the transform to do a crit and u get another crit from the crit hit. So u hit then do the transform and with that it dose the first hit then another hit that is crit then it stays crit.
There a trick i do at the Katana where i do two slash like you did but when i touch the ground another slash comes out. You can also spam the jump (or roll i forgot) on the Bladed Tonfas which resets the tonfas jump, i did this on mobile.. (with control 😂)

- Hemorrhage secret piercing
- War Javelin teleport's existence and its inevitable consequences
- Barrel Launcher knockback boosts
- Standing on top of Edoor
- Grenade sliding (still don't really understand this one)
- Stagger in general, which is still very much unknown and unexplored

- More Katana tech with Telluric Shock
- Scarecrow Sickles blind spot
- Amulet poison affixes dealing environmental damage (i.e. scaling with mobs instead of player scrolls)
- Arrow and grenade affixes being ranged/melee respectively + being affected by other affixes
