8:47 this here is like a part that actually made me shocked of how well written it is. I don’t know if it’s just me but I just found a lot of following words that I loved here. “Cowering cartographer” “hesitantly hiding himself from these hideous and horrifying” and then “you ponder if procuring his parchments will become a worthwhile purchase to pursue,” like i didn’t even know the word “parchments” even existed, it’s so well written
Fun fact: In Mantis Lords phase two when both mantises are on the wall and doing the high to low pattern, if you're good (Or just have done it as much as I have) you can hide between the attacks and heal three if you're REALLY skilled.

The Nosk fight is carried entirely by vibes. Like the fight is simply and everyone considers it to be one of the easier ones of the game, but the set up and setting of the fight makes it pretty memorable. It almost feels like something out of a horror game, even if it isn't really what most people would consider scary. Sound design, music, arena, set up, all of it carries the moment even if the fight is technically "easy"
These Explained in Insults really showcase how Windette has leaned into the dom/bratty sub dynamic that they’ve established with their viewer base over time 😸

they are probably millipedes, there is 2 sets of legs per body segment, but they also have the back antenna so they could be centipedes, lmao just something i noticed

On my first run I picked up mantis claw and then continued exploring the area until I accidentally opened up the way to Mantis lords. Being the stubborn person that I am I didn’t back away after dying repeatedly since I didn’t have any upgrades until I beat them.
I already had bought lantern to get into Crystal peaks so I got my first dreamer there and got the trampass. So instead of enter the City of tears the usual way I got there from ancient Basin.

as much as you joke about these videos being for masochists it's genuinely unexpectedly good content. You give great tips and hint at secrets with incredible poetic language and constant humor throughout. it's really amazing how thorough you are and how much effort is visible here
I really do try to focus as much as possible on the "guide" side of things as that's what gives me the most fulfilment

Edit: I snuck in the back at first and missed Cornifer (somehow) on my second run through. In summary, I went through ALL OF DEEPNEST without a map.

In short, Deepnest is a dark and emotionally scarring hole that’s filled with both creepy and crawly things.
In my first playthrough, I finally beat mantis Lords and went into Deepnest. Was my first time, shit my pants and left. That same day, I found my way into Kingdoms edge, and encountered Primal Aspids. I did not have a fun time that day.
I was so happy when I finally beat Nosk and could safely say that I would never go back into Deepnest ever again for the rest of the game.

These videos really do help! they give me inspiration to finish the game out of pure spite so I can say "Look Windette! see who's the moron now, huh?!"
The writing alone might have taken 10 straight days to write, but those were days well spent, wow. Between the compelling, almost rhythmic use of alliteration in the descriptions and the imagery that only serves to reinforce the atmosphere Deepnest wants to suffocate the player with, it was a joy to listen to. Thank you.

I stumbled across this series recently when starting to get into hollow knight and being hopelessly lost and these guides really helped me so that I could start truly enjoying the game so thank you for the hard work in making these guides. They are both really funny and some of the best guides for hollow knight on the internet 😄
As someone who just watched a friend go through the terror that is Deepnest. Yeah, yeah you definitely covered it in a way that somehow would have made their experience of deepnest more... deepnesty
There's not enough comments on this video on how impressive the script was. The never ending aliterations fit so well with the chaos that is Deepnest. Great work on the video Windette, I'm excited to see more!
All jokes aside this video had great tone to it, when i want to deepnest the first time i saw it as more of a checklist of things to do than a place to explore. Your narration really put a lot of the ambiance and creep factor back into it for me. Kudos!

Deepnest is easily one of the most horrifying places I've ever been in in a non-horror genre game. Especially because spiders and centipedes are like, some of my biggest fears.

When you first got to the dark area I thought you were going to do it without the lamp.
If you didn't know the worm things crawling on the floor act like spikes in that you can pogo off them.
You did "cheat" twice when you bench-warped.
I think of it as cheating because it's more like metagaming.
I also think of it as cheating. even did a whole steel soul 112% file using no warping whatsoever including dreamgate and had a blast because it really forced me to go back to basics

Hey Windy! I’ve made a couple updates like this before, but I did it! I’ve finished my GCSEs, and get my results next month. Thank for the amazing content that has always hit me with the verbal equivalent of a 4x4 truck, right when I needed it. I couldn’t have asked for a better creator to find, or more entertaining videos to keep me going, and now we get Windy^3 with all of the channels! Keep performing amazingly at your own pace, it’s done EXCELLENTLY so far.
