    Nobody can match Barry's footwork. serious skills.
    So many pedals on the market nowadays. I've used about a dozen different sets of all types and I think HE sprints or VRS are the way to go. No need to get fancy or complicated. I'll run these VRS and keep the sprints as a backup but I've got em both set where they feel identical

    • @Havok412

    Just came back here to say thanks Barry for the detailed review. I just had my VNM pedals delivered tonight and have been messing with my setup very lightly. While my position and other items aren't perfect since I didn't order the plate and the pedals don't come with any hardware....I was able to fashion up some kind of setup to rest my feet on for now.
    The pedals are fantastic! I started off jumping right into the Formula Vee on Laguna Seca. I've only been racing for a few weeks and I didn't feel that the Vee was the best car being twitchy and having a hard time with my G29 braking zones (too much, too little, too light, too late etc). Well first race out in the Vee and it was awesome, no lockups, very consistent and repeatable braking. I loved it! I'm sure it will get better as I refine my setup and the adjustments of the pedals themselves. Shout out to US Sim Motion for quick and easy delivery in the US!

    It seems like there are never ending clones of the Heusinkveld Sprints, and this is one more. The 3 pedal set price is nearly the same as well, from VNM's US distributor. For the price they sell for $659 USD, I'm not sure if they would be the better choice for the money, as Heusinkveld's customer support is so good and trusted and the resale value of them is so high as compared to a pedal new comer. Now if they were around $500 USD that would be a much tougher choice.

    • @imromano2448
      @imromano2448 2 года назад +3

      At least to the East Coast of the USA, if you buy them directly from HE, you can get them for $680 shipping included, so these pedals are actually more expensive.

    • @horsefly1020
      @horsefly1020 2 года назад +4

      That's because they are all trying to copy real race car pedals at the end of the day. So you could say heusinkvelds are copies of real pedals. You can only build things so many ways before people are saying it's a copy of someone else.

    • @Havok412
      @Havok412 2 года назад

      The VNM one seems to have more adjustability in the the height of the heel plate. The Simtrecs one sits pretty level with the pedals even at its highest setting which I felt I could've been better if it could go higher. This plate might be better. If it fits the Simtrecs I might try this one out.

  • @black7rc720
    @black7rc720 2 года назад +1

    Hi Barry. Great video as always. With the brake pedal, I'm curious about the load cell mounting solution. It doesn't look like there's any through-bolts at that fulcrum point at the bottom, right where the greatest moment of torque would be exerted, but 2 counter-bored cap screws tightened into threaded holes in the load cell. Do you think there's any risk of these stripping over thousands of cycles? They look susceptible to me. It was hard to work out exactly how the load cell was mounted from the video and I may have it all wrong but it's the only reservation I have. Any comment would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm in the market for a new pedals because mine are starting to fail. These seem very well constructed. I like almost everything about these. Since I consider simracing a hobby, if I buy these I'm thinking long term, 3 to 4 years of use. I drive in socks, so hydraulic pedals are not for me. These seem like they are socks friendly. I don't know if the damper kit makes sense, but overall I'd rather buy all at once. When I tried Fanatec V3 with dampers, I really didn't like it. I do however have some concerns about the manufacturer. Will they provide spare parts down the road? Will the software be updated if Windows 10 or 11 gets some of their famous update in the future that mess something up? This is the only reason I'm thinking about going with a more widely known manufacturer. Well, I will put the links of these pedals in my (now very large) notes, and pull a trigger after the summer is over.

    • @alexbui1385
      @alexbui1385 2 года назад +1

      VNM can send you spare parts on demand through distributors, the software gets updated regularly so there's no worries about Windows updates messing anything up, and these pedals are super sock-friendly. I even prefer using them barefooted. If customer support is a big concern, you can take it from the few comments here as we try to get back to questions as soon as they come up. We'll make sure your money is well spent ;)

      I know this is a few months late but the VNM guys run a very active discord and they're always on there interacting with customers. Those guys have way more planned than just a shifter and set of pedals. They're a legit outfit. They're already making mige encoders and software etc..

      @WeisstShawn 2 года назад

      A teammate of mine had the Simagic for about 3 months ... well actually he only could use them two weeks in this time. The rest of this period he was waiting for spare parts from China. The hydraulic failed two times, and when the controller also failed he finally dumped them. Simagic-pedals really have big quality-issues combined with a HORRIBLE customer service.
