I have my issues with BMW, but I have to give them kudos for not bending to the pressure of making a 4cyl standard in their midsize SUV(looking at you MB, Audi, Cadillac, Genesis, etc). The B58 I-6 is a beast of an engine and very efficient at the same time, plus being a straight 6, it continues to lead the class on engine smoothness and NVH. While I know it will eventually get the monstrosity of a nose that is applied to the 4-Series/X7/7-Series, this 2023 seems to be peak X5. It retains the physical interior controls as well. It would be at the top of my list if I were shopping this class.
What are you talking about, Audi and Mercedes both have 6 cylinders in Q7/Q8 and GLE. They just give you a cheaper option, since no one really needs 300 hp in a family car.
@@hellkitty1014 if you mean BASELINE model, BMW also offers the X5 Xdrive30i which comes with an 2L i4 engine. Like the other guy said, Audi & Mercedes offer lower powered models but, like BMW, the standard one they push is the detuned i6 engine model.
Not exactly an apples to apples comparison , but how do you stack this vs the x3m40i with the b58? Id like to see how the new 24’ bmw x5 stacks up as well now that it has the b58 too.
BMW and pretty much any other German automaker are actually very reliable if you can afford to properly maintain them, whenever someone says they’re “unreliable” it’s mostly because they couldn’t afford the maintenance in the first place
@@rayn.2688 i mean don’t get me wrong Lexus is still a very reliable automaker and there maintenance costs are best bang for the buck when compared to other automaker’s, Acura on the other hand I wouldn’t even consider luxury, plus unlike Toyota and Lexus who still focus on quality and reliability Honda and Acura quality and reliability has tanked and when I mean tanked I don’t mean by a little I mean by a lot, Honda and Acura aren’t the same brands they once were 20 years ago, they started resting on their laurels and quality is just abysmal, they rival Nissan and Mitsubishi now in terms of quality. Great car! Unfortunately due to my above average height I cannot buy simply due to lack of second row legroom. Hopefully they increase on next version.

Hey guys I love the reviews you all do. I’m in the process or narrowing down my next vehicle to purchase. This X5 is on my list. I noticed you guys didn’t mention the color of this model. Can you let me know which paint color option was on this specific model.
To pay $70k for a base X5 and not getting the $2k executive package with the updated headlights is just ridiculous. And no those headlights are not adaptive

he G05 looks big and bulky on the outside. I am 6ft tall. I was so disappointed. I am a BMW enthusiast. The driver seat was tight in the G05 and I could not get into the back seat. When I adjusted the driver seat to get in my knees were into the driver back. I barely got in. I felt like my giant. I was shocked I thought I was in a 3 series. The F15 has more room than the G05 platform. Everything on the G05 looks great, but those tail lamps in the rear. Bring back the L shaped tail lamps BMW tradition.
wonder why rear seats are not that comfortable, I would be expecting more luxury for the 2nd row seats. no reclining feature for this car?> what a shame!
The split tailgate is a deal breaker for me. I don't want to have to stretch to get something out of the back. Also, if it's raining, you don't have any cover.
The bottom of the split tailgate only drops down if you want it to, totally programmable. It’s an amazing positive to have a tailgate bench to sit on if you want, and it also keeps anything from falling out when opening top hatch only. I’ve own a 2022 X5 for 5 months and LOVE this feature!
Nice midsize SUV, but it doesn't hold a candle against the 23 RR Sport. All that gloss wood is hideous and will scratch and look dusty all the time . Those are Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit equivalent vehicles and Jeep might actually be better lol .
I got this actual car and M Sport with the dark graphite metallic, so body color finishes throughout. I really like the car but man - oh man - what the hell are they thinking with that 5 inch of gappage in the wheel wells. I'm having to get lowering springs just to look at the car from a distance, and they will only bring it down about 1.5 inches at best. I think the other causative factor is the ultra low profile tire / wheel combo on these cars. I think they went too far with it. It's an SUV and that combo also makes the car ride worse, especially with the run-flats, which I'm also in the process of switching over to traditional tires. I've probably had one flat in 50 years of driving and literally years of driving on run-flats is not worth that convenience.
I prefer this dashboard to the new refresh one with a long screen.
